Dr. Phil's Insights -- People Won't Like the "New You"

In "Self Matters", Dr. Phil warned his readers about the "unintended" or "unexpected" consequences of getting in touch with the truth.

Parents who abused us or refused to boost us from a life of dependence may resent their children do not "need" them anymore.

Friends who enjoyed listening to our sob stories to feel better about themselves will feel bad that you have chosen to believe better things for yourself.

Jealousy is a rampant evil in this world, one which diminishes the good of growing men and women all too often. Dependence works for people who thrive off of dependent people as much it hurts those who are still compelled to seek out the help and solace of other people.

In short, the victories that men and women achieve to gain maturity in an immature world will not receive the widespread applause of men and women who have chosen not to seek or receive the same.

People will not like the "New" or rather "Renewed" you. Yet if you are renewed in your mind as to the truth of who you are in Christ, then it makes no difference whether people receive you as you are in this world or not.
