Pangas, Palos Verdes, and Foot-Dragging in Washington

First El Segundo, now Palos Verdes.

Pangas are beaching along the South Bay coast in greater number.

Illegal immigrants bring felonious records and marijuana supplies to Southern California shores, attempting to outflank the Coast Guard and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Still the US Congress refuses to pass any meaningful legislation to stem the tide of illegal immigration. Congressional members Janice Hahn and Henry Waxman have written letters protesting the rise of illegal immigration, but they did not support the STEM Jobs Act, which would allow foreign nationals who have earned advanced degrees in American Universities to transition more quickly into United States citizens.

For over one hundred years, men and women from all over the world came to our shores looking for a better life. Only the rise of the welfare state and the War on Drugs have frustrated legal immigration while discouraging American citizens from welcoming migrants to our country.

Our leaders must get our troops out of Afghanistan and assign them to our Southern borders. Instead of offering piece-meal executive orders of non-enforcement, President Obama should diminish the welfare state, decriminalize controlled substances (thus discouraging the drug trade and impoverishing the Latin American drug cartels) and open up our borders to free immigration, providing health and background checks for new arrivals to our shores.
