Scott Walker for President

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker

Republican Scott Walker won the governor’s seat in a traditionally progressive-blue state. He enacted principled budget reform which curbed the inimical power of public sector unions. Despite the flight of the Democratic caucus and the scaled and roaring protestors of public sector acolytes in the state capitol, the Wisconsin legislature passed the budget reforms.

Immediately, cities and school districts witnessed the dramatic savings which followed: renegotiating for medical contracts and protecting employees’ paychecks, even the liberal city of Milwaukee saved money. Still, public sector unions refused to back down without a collective fight.

Commenting on the GOP’s failure to capture the White House and the Senate, Walker remarked:

I think it's not that our beliefs are wrong. I don't think we do an effective enough job of articulating those beliefs and what it means in people's lives.

In spite of a massive recall, one which took away control of the state senate and threatened to remove a sympathetic state supreme court justice, Governor Walker survived and thrived. His opponent in the June recall could not diminish the benefits of reforms which benefited the taxpayers and hard-working families of Wisconsin. Never resorting to negative attacks or petty smears, the Wisconsin Governor earned the endorsement of the left-leaning Milwaukee Sentinel-Journal. No better example of principled reform, fearless leadership, and well-articulated persuasion has yet been manifested than in Walker.

Romney failed as messenger and message. Walker has accomplished both. He should throw his hat in the ring and run for President in 2016.
