Losing Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney claims
that President Obama won reelection
because of the “gifts” that he gave to minorities.
Contrary to his glib remarks, the Republican Party Platform
advocates principles of individual freedom, opportunity, and responsibility, buttressed
by voluntary association.
Still, Romney’s losses is perhaps the Republican Party’s
long-term gain.
From “self-deportation” to his “47%” remark to his
lackluster responses to President Obama during the third debate, Romney is
becoming the gift who keeps on giving to the Democratic Party.
I applaud LA Governor Bobby Jindal for repudiating such a foolish comment. I also applaud Newt Gingrich for denouncing the perception among media elites that the Republican brand is a bland coalition of old, white male bigots who do not care about the wealth, health, and welfare of all Americans, no matter what their color, culture, or character.
