It is with great sadness that I read that Assemblyman Chris Norby has lost his seat.
He was one of few fiscal conservatives in the Assembly who refused to bend on his principles, yet never demonized or denigrated his opponents.
He reduced the punishment for low-grade drug possession. He recalled tax dollars from the wasteful and corrupt community redevelopment agencies. He voiced his opposition to Title IX, which discriminated against able athletes because certain sports did not cater to women.
I hope that Norby considers a Congressional run in the future. His views on tolerance and limited government are needed now more than ever in this country.
