On November 19, 2015, We the People Rising confronted the staffers of Congressman Ted Lieu (D-Torrance, Los Angeles, CA) demanding enforcement of the rule of law in Huntington Park, CA. Contact Lieu's office, and demand that the federal government secure our borders and remove the two illegals from the two Huntington Park, CA City Commissions!

For a young man claiming to be a debate instructor, he relied on nothing but feelings and fancies, rather than truth, data, or evidence.

Yes. Borders are immoral, the way they are established right now. 60-70 years ago, people from South of the border could just enter and leave freely without being sanctioned. No need to apply. just come and go. Europeans could just arrive by vote and just register to become citizens. No need to apply.

As America switched from slavery (free black labor) to other forms of cheap labor, people were made "illegal" in order to exploit them. The agriculture industry loves it. construction business as well. We started building walls to criminilize people. We started setting quotas for immigration so only the richest can come.

Welcoming anyone-- regardless of class or race-- is American.

Building walls is UNAMERICAN.

Conservatives Are the True Progressives

The Progressive Movement, from the early 20^th century to today, operated from a flawed premise: Man is basically good, and the power of the state can shape him toward better tendencies, aims, and behaviors. A record of the wars and rumors of wars, the failures of power in the hands of any good man – made corrupt over time and influence – indicate a healthy reserve towards power to people, or unbridled trust to his limited, yet static nature. However, the fallen nature of man does not inspire pride in prideful man. Thus, academics from the early 1800s to the present day have challenged the learning and the humility of their ancestors. However, humanity’s fraught, broken aspects cannot be ignored, despite the desperate pleadings of elites, bureaucrats, and illiberal interest groups insistent on changing the world to their own dictates.

These Progressives preached progress as human perfectibility through the power of the state. The records of history, apart from sanitized, state-sponsored propaganda, demonstrate that liberty, conservative principles of limited government, foster true progress.

German pundits, paid by the autocratic Prussian state, then Karl Marx and his communistic followers, pursued a better world by rigorous planning, or brute force at the barrel of a gun. These terrifying goals seduce those who have not lived under well-intentioned tyranny. Ironically, this Progressive impulse for equality of results, for static outcomes for all, central planning in the hands of well-trained elites, does not imply progress. These antiquated views populated the minds of Ancient Greek and Roman thinkers, and the rogue administrators who usurped power from the individuals whom they claimed to serve, and benefited themselves.

To this day, I find it remarkable that so many tech-savvy politicos trust our rising, complex administrative state to a few “experts”, many of whom hold wrong views on . . .just about everything. This “benevolent” despotism went out of favor with the “Enlightenment” philosophers seeking court favors. The unconscious consensus of individuals, with better information about their particular needs, informs our markets and culture more accurately than the blind planning of the few. Can’t Progressives do better than regurgitate stale ideas which never worked in the first place?

Their sophomoric disdains free markets and enterprise, capitalism and private property as old-fashioned and deficient. Yet the systems of open trade have leveled the playing field for all markets, for individuals to become successful entrepreneurs. If someone is not successful, they cannot blame the skewed background of government intervention and bureaucratic micromanaging. Great civilizations, then and now, did not spring forth from government planning, but individual invention, unfettered trade, and the growth of mutual, voluntary trust.

About abortion, anyone who argues that terminating a life as a matter of convenience is noble or modern, should review their history. Ancient cultures sacrificed children to esoteric deities. Barbaric cultures dedicated their rapacious war efforts to slaughtering not only every able-bodied male, but ripping out the unborn children from the wombs of pregnant mothers, wives resting safely at home. For those who advocate for abortion on demand today, their myopic views merely mirror the backward barbarity of ages long gone.

Progressives degrade the family as an antiquated structure, unworthy of replication or respect. However, families, through the marriage of one man and one woman, are not as old-fashioned as one would assume. In Old Testament biblical accounts, men took multiple wives. With those strife-ridden arrangements emerged fights over proper rearing and the legacy of inheritance engendered more problems than solutions. Same-sex couplings were common. Reread the records of Sodom and Gomorrah and references to “Sons of Belial” throughout the Israelite histories. Homosexuality was common among the ancient Greeks, Romans, and Chinese, too. And so were its deleterious consequences. Prostitution was not only legal, but welcomed in Mediterranean societies, along with incest and pedophilia. These disordered behaviors resulted in the measured decline of once great societies, no longer producing strong couples, healthy children, or thriving societies. Today, more Americans – and promoters of Western culture – are restoring the vision and value of marriage and family: nourished children who become strong citizens and create better communities, better than anything constructed by force or legislative fiat.

For generations, if not millennia, individuals were not permitted to own firearms, to protect themselves from rogue tribes or thuggish nobles. During the fall of the Roman Empire, townspeople seeking any safety would seek refuge from large estate owners, many of whom would demand the freedom and property of those individuals in return. The strength of knights and their widespread war machines belonged to the well-connected landowners, even up to the 18^th century. Self-preservation through ownership of firearms, the American colonists fired the “shot heard round the world” and sparked the American Revolution, in which individual liberty, enshrined in the English Bill of Rights, would remain enforced for generations to come. Despite Progressive posturing for gun control, The Second Amendment remains sacrosanct, a testimony to the eternal necessity of man to preserve himself from danger.

Conservatives must retake the debate over what constitutes “progress”. Progress is about liberty, not tyranny; freedom, not control; opportunity, not conformity. Conservatives, not “Progressives”, promote progress for all.

Edgar Cisneros: Enabler of Illegal Immigration

Huntington Park, CA City Council has appointed a new city manager: Edgar Cisneros.

At the point, any appointed official, if he or she legally resides in the United States, is aiding and abetting illegal immigration by doing nothing about the two illegal aliens appointed to city commissions.

This immoral action requires redress.

The new city manager has so far done nothing.

The members of the audience crowded around the city manager at the end of the December First, 2015 City Council meeting.

Cisneros seemed determined to run away, not discuss anything with the protesting members of the audience.

Delivery of services in the community in an effort to maintain and improve the quality of life in the City of Huntington Park

Francisco Rivera has routinely complained about the code violations in the city. Residents are tired of the crime and corruption taking over the parks and the other public spaces. George Franco has repeatedly demanded crossing guards in front of the local schools.

The City Manager works closely with all of the departments in developing policy recommendations and responding to City Council directives. The City Manager provides professional leadership and administrative direction to the City’s management team, implements special projects authorized by the City Council and supports the City Council in the development and adoption of City Policy.

Cisneros is not providing adequate leadership at this time. His actions are enabling the unprofessional conduct of the four rogue city council members, all of whom are intent on pushing a perverse, regressive agenda on a city desperate for real, moral leadership.

His actions -- and his inaction -- are wrong.

The Homosexual Huntington Park City Council

I never thought it would come to this.

I had hoped to avoid writing about this issue. It is bad enough that the Huntington Park CA City Council endorses utter lawlessness with their appointment of two illegal aliens to city commissions. There is no code enforcement in the city, as restaurants continue cooking hot dogs on the streets, and people continue parking their cars wherever they choose, regardless of the red lines on the curbs.

Now the city council has declared war against natural law and Nature's God altogether.

Three  members of the Huntington Park, CA City Council are lesbians: Graciela Ortiz, Marilyn Sanabria, and mayor Karina Macias. (The word is still out on Jhonny Pineda)

They sure do not seem open about it.

During the December First, 2015 city council meeting, Linda Caraballo called them out (or is the term "outed" them?). Sanabria tried twice to silence her comments, and Macias alleged slander. Caraballo interrupted them, pointing out that she was simply making a comment.

Caraballo was not slandering the three women on the city council. Other residents have informed me about their behavior. The fact is - their personal choices are their own -- how they choose to live in their bedrooms is up to them. The other side of liberty, however, rests on the consequences.

Still, one has to wonder: what do "gay marriage", the Big Green Agenda, and the Open Borders lobby all have in common?

These agendas are all concentrated attacks on natural law, the rule of law, authority and respect. There can be no liberty, no love, no honor with recognition of the truth, and the limits which the truth defines.

This communistic influence permeates domestic policy throughout California citizens. These measures, these agendas are attacks on individual liberty, limited government, and constitutional rule. If anyone doubts these connections, just compare the manifesto of the American Communist Party and the Democratic Party. Everything from the destruction of marriage, to the seizure of private property, the redistribution of wealth. all of it speaks to force as opposed to liberty, pushed ahead by communist instigators.

This assault on the truth, justice, and the American Way must be stopped.

The city councilmembers who engage in same-sex conduct felt ashamed and uncomfortable about their lifestyle choices. Such feelings are inevitable, because same-sex conduct hurts one's body and hurts society as a whole.

Now more than ever, people need to be set free. Free to speak, to think, and to live! In Huntington Park, CA - we are fighting for these natural rights.

Huntington Park, Ground Zero for Big Homo

Huntington Park, CA City Council wanted to embrace the dubious distinction as the first city to appoint two illegal aliens to city commissions. Apparently, the city was also the locale for the first public "Gay Marriage" in the United States,  too.

The Los Angeles Wave reports:

HUNTINGTON PARK — Following the recent Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage, Mayor Karina Macias checked into her city’s history and found that Huntington Park has been part of the gay rights movement since 1968.

During the December First, 2015 city council members, former councilmember Linda Caraballo exposed to the public the fact that councilmembers Graciela Ortiz, Karina Macias, and Marilyn Sanabria are lesbians. There is no evidence yet that Jhonny Pineda is a practicing homosexual, but certainly state senator Ricardo Lara flaunts his homosexual lifestyle, and he is one of the elected machine politicians who wants to dominate the city as well as the region.

That’s why, at her request, the City Council July 6 honored [From 0: 20: 00 to 0: 30: 30] the Rev. Troy Deroy Perry Jr., founder of the Metropolitan Community Church, a Christian congregation based in Hollywood, with a special affirming ministry with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.

This is ridiculous. The Bible specifically calls same-sex conduct a form of death. The New Covenant grants us life and freedom. This conference in Utah showcased experts in religious, psychology, biology, and people of diverse backgrounds spoke the truth exposing homosexuality and the social, political, and economic forces pushing this agenda. None of them are good, none of them support individual liberty, limited government, or respect for natural rights,

He received a certificate of recognition for promoting LGBT acceptance and equality in Huntington Park and beyond.

“I conducted my first service Oct. 6, 1968 in a rented house at 6205 Miles Ave., just down the street,” Perry told the council, adding “in December 1968, I married two young men from Mexico in a gay marriage ceremony.”

So, Huntington Park was Ground Zero for Big Homo, the site of the first "gay marriage" in the United States. Another dubious distinction for which the city should not be proud.

Perry, now 74, was born in Tallahassee, Florida and served in the military. He received religious training at the Moody Bible Institute.

Moody Bible Institute is exactly that -- a Bible institute. No person can act as an ordained minister and preach homosexuality. It is wrong  it is simply not God's best for anyone. This issue rests on biology, not bigotry.

"Reverend" Troy Deroy (LA Wave Newspaper)

Perry told The Wave he is now retired as a bishop of the church but continues to preach internationally at the church’s affiliates in 38 countries.

He has written books such as “The Lord Is My Shepherd and He Knows I’m Gay,” and “Profiles in Gay and Lesbian Courage.”

There is no courage in Huntington Park. The three women on the city council identify as lesbians, and yet they are ashamed of this identity. They should be, only because it breeds shame and is a result of condemnation. Let us hope that more people can learn that proper relations belong to one man and one woman in marriage, and nothing else.

Citing the June 26 Supreme Court decision, Macias said, “it was long overdue and will make for a more open society.”

No it will not. Same-sex "marriage" is another symptom of a society which has given up on family as the necessary determinant for a safe and secure world. Without families, there is no community. Without community, there is nothing bu anarchy.

“It’s a great honor to have Rev. Troy Perry in Huntington Park. As an ally of the LGBT community, I think it is important to highlight the history of local individuals who have taken a stand for equality,” Macias added. “This recognition for Rev. Perry’s leadership is long overdue. We want him and the community to know that his historic stand for marriage equality in the city of Huntington Park is appreciated and celebrated.”

No it is not. Rather, more residents are exposing this unjust practice. Every child needs and deserves a Mom and a Dad. Two men and two women cannot provide the proper nurturing and training for a child. Strong families come from strong marriages, one man and one woman. More conservatives, more Americans must stand up for this truth, especially in Huntington Park.

Perry, who gave the invocation at the council meeting, prayed for continued knowledge and tolerance on the issue, noting that there was a large gay community in Huntington Park in the 1960s.

More audience members keep asking the city council: "What god are you praying to?" Whatever deity they claim to worship, he is not the same loving God who created man to have life, and that more abundantly. Open borders with  no regard for the rule of law, lax enforcement, open embrace of homosexuality -- these choices diminish life, love, and respect. The people of Huntington Park have lost their vision, and more people are perishing as a result.

This is a lie. More of us have to have the courage to say this.

One of those welcoming Perry was Eddie Martinez, a founding advisory board member of Latino Equality Alliance and a lifelong resident of Huntington Park.

Final Reflection

What is the common thread tying all of these distortions, perversions, and dysfunctions? Ignorance and neglect of the truth, the breakdown of law and order, the triumph of feelings over facts -- all of this ties to a pernicious agenda which seeks equality as the final determinant. What kind of a world do we want to live in, a future with "a boot in your face forever"?

This is very much a communistic impulse, and more people are standing up for something better: freedom, opportunity, and life.

Over the past six months, Huntington Park has made history of a different and better kind. In this Southeastern Los Angeles community, more Americans, patriots, and conservatives all around are fighting back. We have cried out the Shout Heard Round the World Wide Web - and the World -- to say "Enough!"

It's time for Huntington Park to become Ground Zero for a New Restoration of Truth and Liberty!

Young Hispanic Conservative Shames Huntington Park City Council

November 17th was an eventful night for We the People Rising. Our protests were reaching more people throughout the county. Our pro-legal immigration group was preparing for our enforcement tour against the four council members who continue to break the law, with impunity

A young Hispanic conservative, Isaac Rodriguez of Pico Rivera, CA, attended the November 17, 2015 Huntington Park, CA City council meeting at my invitation. He has been reading my Townhall.com articles about us California conservatives and our fight for the rule of law in that lawless city.

Since he lived close to Huntington Park, he found the time despite his busy school schedule to attend.

Before public comment, Isaac and I posed for a picture in the city council chambers, capturing the city's scripture "Where there is no vision, the people perish." On his left shoulder, he sowed the "Don't tread on me" patch. He wanted to make sure that sign was evident and prominent.

At first, he was not prepared to sharing anything with the council, but we encouraged him to speak. 

During public comment, he shared the following with the Huntington Park, CA City Council:

"It seems that you folks have genuine care for your city. I'm an optimistic guy. I would like to think that. But your disregard for law . . it's hard to see, it;s hard to understand. It;s hard to fathom.

"My grandmother came to this country, legally, in 1959. She left. People like to think that Mexico is a kind of a corrupt place. And she would, I assume,  in part left because of things like that. SHE CAME TO Ameican and rightfull so, I would assume that Ameican was a place where that sort of thing didn't happen. 

"She's 92 years old, now, and for the most part I would think that she's gone through some times where that held true. America is the land of the free, home of the brave. But if she could see what is going on right now, I think she would have kind of a reminder of. not a very pleasant one, of what she left back in Mexico.

"I'm a Mexican-American. For some people, you can say that "They're racist" for wanting legal people here. I as a Mexican-American, you can't really say that. I have brown skin. But is that too much to ask from a white person, a black person, a Mexican person, Is it too much to ask for a little bit of a preference for Americans in these benefits and appointments. Is it too much to ask? I',m not really sure. I would like to think it's not too much to ask.

"But, my grandmother, she came to this country legally. I'm an American citizen. I believe in America. And I want an America that follows the rule of law. I'm from a small city, just like Huntington Park, and I would hate to see this going on in my city.

"I just hope for a better tomorrow. Some how, some way, here in Huntington Park. Thank you,"

Huntington Park, CA City Council Took a Thirteen Minute "Five Minute" Recess

At the 29:00 mark of the Part Two section of December 1, 2015 HP Meeting, Mayor Karina Macias called for a five minute recess.

The Huntington Park City Council cannot take any more of the pressure from We the People Rising.

We have held our ground, fighting for eternal values. The rule of law cannot cave to miscreants within any one city, where individual elected officials feel that they do not have to obey the law. Their appointment of two illegal aliens to city commissions should have signalled unbridled alarm from all law-abiding citizens throughout Los Angeles County and around the world.

We the People Rising - we are the voices for the millions of Americans who are tired of their govenrment pandering to illegals at the expense of legal residents.

Now the city council is feeling the heat, facing month after month against a room of concernd citizens, constituents without borders.

Macias looked more and more uncomfortable, and the once cocky Pineda was rubbing his hands and straining his fingers.

Cosme Lozamo, the Chief of Police, looks increasingly uncomfortable, puffing his cheeks and rubbing his hands. The city council hears our frequent complaints, as well as demands for order and respect for our nation's laws and culture.

The city council went into recess for five minutes. Actually, for thirteen minutes.

What were they doing in the chambers off-site?

They are getting worn down. All it takes is that diligent minority, to set ablaze the imaginations of the masses. We are getting support from all  over the country. Young Hispanics are supporting our efforts. Residents in the city are applauding our efforts. The corruption just stinks to high heaven, and the residents in the city want it to end.

No justice, no peace. No enforcement, no peace. No justice or enforcement -- no liberty.

While the city council ran away for not five but thirteen minutes, the rest of us recorded comments and events in the city council chambers. Linda Caraballo reminded the audience that the council was holding a serial meeting, which is subject to the Brown Act. Because they were not speaking or discussing issues publicly, and because they had failed to inform the audience that they were recessing into closed session, it appears that another Brown Act violation has occurred.

Their thirteen minute recess will cost them dearly in the future. The city attorney, Arnold Alvarez-Glasman, ran to meet with them during the recess, too. Only Valentin Amezquita remained outside, and discussed with the audience his concerns. Why did his colleagues run away, and leave him alone?

What are they hiding? Why can't the city council face the public with courage and finally admit that they are breaking the law, they are doing wrong, and need to start doing the right thing? It does not take five minutes, let alone thirteen, to figure out the wise thing to do.

3. Remind their community and all cities throughout California and the country: cities are for citizens, and positions of public trust belong to legal residents.

I Will Stand (and Dance) with Tony Lepore

There’s a crazy article on BuzzFeed called “The 24 Most Rhode Island Things to ever happen”. The highlights include two-time (and two-timing) mayor of Providence Buddy Cianci, a guy in his skivvies dancing in Woonsocket, and the Big Blue Bug drinking an Awful Awful. Slide #12, arrested my attention (pun intended), which featured “The Dancing Cop”.

Really? A cop dancing in the street is so Rhode Island?

He’s a big deal in the Ocean State, dancing since 1984, and continues to bust a move (and bad driving) since he retired from the Providence police force in 1989, entertaining crowds at Christmas time ever since. I finally connected with the prancing law enforcement officer on Facebook, Tony Lepore Sr. is his real name,  he is the real deal, and took me on.

The Boston Globe featured him in a video article, too: “Dancing cop, still traffic jamming at 64”.

“He is an icon for Providence”, one observer remarked. The kids love him – love watching him dance, and then they try imitating his moves. Check out his Facebook avatar, posing with two young ones. In the larger photo, you will find him teaching young people how to dance. But directing Providence traffic is not just fun and games for Lepore:

“It’s an important job, because it’s people’s safety”, Lepore reminds the reporter. “You can’t be lackadaisical going out there.”

Coordination is the name of the game. Keep traffic flowing, and have fun while doing it. Obeying the rules, keeping people safe, and more people can have fun. A bigger principle emerges out of this event: peace, prosperity, and joy are impossible without law and order, without clear parameters to define the accepted and prohibited. No one can play if anything goes.

In a nation where the rule of law faces unprecedented attacks (viz. No Enforcement, No Peace), the bright example of a smiling cop keeping residents and drivers safe and sound brings hope as well as holiday cheer.

Then I heard about his recent termination from the Providence Police Department, or rather the city’s craven, politically motivated move not to bring him in for Christmas 2015. Fox News Insider reports:

For more than 30 years, retired Rhode Island Police Officer Tony Lepore has brought good cheer to the city of Providence with the famous dance moves he'd perform while directing holiday traffic.

But he was turned down for the job this season because he protested a Dunkin Donuts restaurant whose employee had written #BlackLivesMatter on a cop's coffee cup.

This rude behavior toward police was not an isolated incident. In West Hartford, CT, a Dunkin’ Donuts employee rebuffed an officer: “We don’t serve cops here.” Then the Providence, RI Dunkin’ Donuts wrote the hashtag insult instead of the officer’s name. Lepore learned about it, boycotted the shop, his fans followed suit, and then the national press picked up the piece. When the Dancing Cop demanded an apology from the company, the Providence police force (under the thumb of liberal progressive political machine), let Lepore go.

Another cop pushed aside, and why? “The Providence Police Department said Lepore misrepresented the department and committed a "disservice" to the city.”

Really?

Police are under attack throughout the country, and Lepore was bringing attention to this issue. “I did it for the street cops, because I worry about them”. His concerns are well-founded. Last year, two of New York City’s finest were gunned down point blank. The union blamed the current liberal, progressive mayor’s anti-authoritarian policies. During the funeral services, the officers turned their back on De Blasio.  The New York Times has an extensive list of columns covering cop-related attacks. Two months ago, a Texas off-duty police officer was targeted and killed. Police in Seattle, Washington recognize a new world for law enforcement following the uptick in assassinations of police officers. Just last week, in Downey, California (one of the safest, most upscale cities in the state), officer Ricardo Galvez was gunned down cold, by underage offenders. In Colorado Springs, another police officer fell in the line of duty.

The dust-up following the #BlackLivesMatter hit on a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee cup is just too much. Let’s state the facts plainly, Rhode Islanders, and all Americans should take notice, too. This Black Lives Matter movement, and now the fallout of one of Providence’s finest, is more than a spat over who speaks for whom in a municipality. This is a left-wing assault writ large, an attack on law and order, authority and integrity, respect, leadership, coordination, and fun. Lepore’s interaction among kids is more than just good community building. He fosters respect for the police in general, and teaches citizens from youth upwards not to view law enforcement with mistrust but cooperation, as fellow servants trying to keep the cities safe, and make the world a better place. The Left, and their violent allies in Black Lives Matter oppose these values.

This time, they picked the wrong fight, and more people all over the country are standing with Tony. And so will I. Enough is enough. #BlueLivesMatter, #AllLivesMatter, and so does Tony’s.

Sharp divides strain CA on immigration

Pronounced differences around the issues of legal and illegal immigration have split voters, politicians, donors and immigrants themselves — from matters of funding and poverty to jobs and security.

By the numbers

California has become a flashpoint for immigration politics despite indications that the long wave of illegal immigration impacting the state has crested. “More Mexicans are leaving the United States than migrating into the country, marking a reversal of one of the most significant immigration trends in U.S. history,” according to CBS News. “A study published Thursday by the Pew Research Center said a desire to reunite families is the primary reason Mexicans go home. A sluggish U.S. recovery from the Great Recession also contributed. Meanwhile, tougher border enforcement has deterred some Mexicans from coming to the United States.”

While this may be true, the fact is that Governor Brown and his Democratic posse in Sacramento continue to roll out the Welcome Mat to illegal aliens, while pushing aside the millions of Californian in great need. Big Government writ large to benefit the Chamber of Commerce and Big Labor is still taking its toll on working families.

Public opinion has not shifted as dramatically — reflecting the persistent consequences of a generation’s worth of immigration. In a recent USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times poll, “59 percent of California voters said immigrants strengthen society, compared with 49 percent of all U.S. voters,” noted the International Business Times. “Thirty-five percent of California voters reported immigrants weaken U.S. society, while 43 percent of all U.S. voters said they weaken it. But Californians weren’t without reservations regarding immigration,” the paper added. “Despite feeling immigrants strengthen society, 41 percent of California voters said immigrants also make life harder for natives financially, while 10 percent said immigrants make things easier and 39 percent said immigrants made no difference to their lives financially.”

These statistics are skewed and deceptive. No one who is pro-enforcement is anti-immigrant. Conservatives and even liberals by and large want secure borders, welfare reform, E-verify. The call for these policies in no way suggests that these growing coalitions are against immigrants. They oppose illegal immigration.

Checks and balances

At the same time, eight Democrats in California’s Congressional delegation recently broke with their party and voted against the president in supporting legislation that would tighten strictures on would-be refugees from Iraq and Syria. Their votes reflected the extraordinary uncertainty and discord surrounding federal immigration policy more broadly. President Barack Obama appealed to the Supreme Court for expedited consideration of the fate of his anti-deportation plan for unlawfully present immigrants, which 26 states launched an effort to reject. “Moving quickly to put the issue before the justices in time for a decision while President Barack Obama is still in office, the administration called for the court’s immediate review of its plan to protect and give work permits to as many as 5 million immigrants,” according to the Associated Press. “So far, the federal courts have sided with the GOP-led states and effectively blocked the plan.”

The Courts are doing the right thing. The President does not make the law. He must enforce the law. Barack Obama has turned into a feckless occupant of the White House, a man who refuses to follow the Constitution or to uphold the rule of law. His selective enforcement is damaging the basic fabric of this country. Where there is no vision -- where there is no law -- people perish.


For the record, the eight California Democratic Congressional representatives who voted for tighter regulations on the Syrian refugees should be commended, but not because of their personal or even political integrity. These votes signal that they face tough fights for reelection in 2016, mostly because of their terrible, unpopular, and damaging party leader Barack Obama. They did not vote against the President out of principle, but because their political interests are at stake.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris, currently campaigning to replace outgoing Sen. Barbara Boxer, threw her weight behind the administration and lambasted the ruling against it. “Harris said the ruling by the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals will be a blow to the California economy and would threaten public safety because many immigrants fear reporting crimes out of concerns they may face deportation,” the Los Angeles Times reported. “In a 2-1 decision, the appeals court sided with Texas and 25 other states that had sued to block Obama’s immigration programs, Deferred Action for Parents of Americans, or DAPA, and an extension of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA.”

Harris is a disgrace to her office, and she deserves nothing more. She should not have been elected Attorney General, not just because of her immoral ideological views, but because allegations of voter fraud have plagued the Election 2010 Attorney General's race.

Harris’s leading opponent, Rep. Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., chided the court as well, calling its holding “another setback for our dysfunctional immigration system,” the Times added. “Congress must take action to pass comprehensive immigration reform, and voters must make their voices heard at the ballot box,” said Sanchez.


Both Sanchez and Harris would be terrible for the state of California: anti-American, anti-immigrant, anti-rule of law, anti-Constitution. California residents need better representation, and leadership which will demand enforcement not accommodation.

Networking opposition

The push against Syrian refugees has received significant support from conservatives in California. Liberals and progressives have singled out San Diego donor Robert Shillman, whose fellowship program for online journalists and funding for grassroots networks has been credited with mobilizing widespread opposition to admitting Syrian refugees in California and elsewhere. During the controversy around a Texas contest to draw Mohammad, which Shillman threw his weight behind, he told Reuters “that violent attacks on such events are making people fearful and prone to self censorship,” denying that he was “anti-Muslim.”

The growing controversy revolves around Sharia law, and its anti-liberty core, contrary to the cultural values of the United States of America -- all of these problems have brought Americans into high alert.

Final Reflection

The immigration divide is not among Republican voters, but some Congressional representatives and leaders in Congress as well as the state legislature. More Democrats and Independents, along with Republicans, want a secure border. They want the rule of law. They want lawmakers and representatives who will  do the right thing by their constituents.
