Christopher Shays for U.S. Senate

Former Congressman Christopher Shays commands a lot of respect both in his native state and across the country.

As a resident of Los Angeles, I met a Connecticut native visiting relatives nearby. While shopping that day, his bags broke on him. After packing his groceries in my car, I drove him to his destination. I asked him about Congressman Shays. He remarked that Shays was a good neighbor and well-known politician in the state. This Congressman has demonstrated an assiduous fiscal conservatism in the face of party pressures, even voting against an unpopular incumbent president.

A fiscal hawk not afraid to amend his views when money is tight, a statesman who practices necessary oversight to stop waste and end fraud, Congressman Christopher Shays is an able and affable politician with experience, respect, and integrity.
Congressman Shays recognizes the dire fiscal constraints threatening our country. He possesses credible legislative experience and essential military expertise, demanding that this country end its extensive and expensive engagements in the Middle East.
I hope that the voters of Connecticut remember his moderation, his cooperation, and his service to state and country and cast their votes for Christopher Shays as their next U.S. Senator.

  1. I watched the contentious debate between Linda McMahon and Mr. Shays.

I was appalled at the unbecoming conduct and empty attacks which the former Congressman leveled against the CEO of the WWF.

He insisted on harping that the Wrestling industry headed by McMahon is a heinous, hateful sleaze-fest. Those hollow attacks have eroded Mr. Shays credibility.

Mr. Shays has voted to raise the debt ceiling many times, when spending cuts needed to be implemented without fail. Shays also supports tax increases, a line of thinking which is completely unacceptable.

I withdraw my support for Shays. I wish teh b est foor Ms. McMahon, who seems to be taking on a commanding and growing lead over Shays and the Democratic challenger that she will likely face in the general election.
