The argument for "marriage equality" falls apart on the very use of the words:
Marriage is never about equality, but rather about two people becoming one flesh, giving up their old single identities to be one with each other.
A good marriage is based on each person in the couple bringing at least "60-%-40%" to the relationship. A marriage that is based on "50%-50%" equality is not love, nor a prosperous basis for a marriage, thus the rising divorce rate in this country.
Marriage is not about equality, tit for tat, but about giving of yourself because to be joined with another "till death do us part" will enhance your life.
"Gay marriage" or "marriage equality" makes no sense whatsoever.
For this reason, I am more inclined to believe that the federal government must needs get out of the marriage and matrimony business altogether.
