Saunders Sounds Off on Death Penalty

I have chosen to resist the Death Penalty as a viable option for punishing offenders, even the worst kind.

Yet San Francisco Chronicle columnist Debra Saunders has offered a sound argument for keeping the death penalty: a strong bargaining chip to force heinous offenders to cut a quick deal instead of forcing victims' families to endure months of trials and tribulations over the painful past.

The Death Penalty as a means of forcing a plea -- that's just fine with me.
