Credo Ut Intelligam

"I believe, that I may understand."

Faith, taking as true without speculation or debate, this step cannot be avoided, no matter what we do.

If we do not believe, take as true what already exists before us, then what can we reckon beyond our circular concerns which are ever-shifting and never-settling?

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

"For by it the elders obtained a good report.

"Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." (Hebrews 11: 1-3)

This world entire was formed by one, through the Beloved:

"For by him [Jesus!] were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

"And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1: 16-17)

I believe in Him (John 6: 29), and from Him I know the Truth (John 14: 6) which sets me free (John 8: 32)
