Darlene Savord of Tustin, CA led a long fight against the city of Tustin to demand that the city council oppose the sanctuary state LAW SB 54.
In 2017, the Tustin City Council issued a letter to the state legislature to oppose SB 54.
Now that the bill has become law, activists and concerned citizens in the city of Tustin wanted the city council to go on record opposing the law. Members of the audience even asked for the city to establish a Citizen Commission to combat the law and its lawless consequences.
The city of Tustin reaffirmed their opposition to California's Sanctuary State law by a 3-2 vote.
