Learn About Your New Kingdom (and King)

During His earthly ministry, Jesus told His disciples, and the multitudes who followed Him as a celebrity, as a phenomenon:

"33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

"34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6: 33-34)

In the last post, I affirmed that the Kingdom of God is Righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 14: 17)

This verse explains the fullness of Luke 17: 21:

"Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." (Luke 17: 21)

The Holy Spirit witnesses of one Person: Jesus!

"26But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning." (John 15: 26-27)

This Blessed Person lives in us!:

"To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (Colossians 1: 27)

Before this wonderful verse, Paul informs the Colossians, and all of us, that we have been brought into the Kingdom of God:

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:" (Colossians 1: 13)

We are now citizens of heaven (Philippians 3: 20), which we have because of the Spirit of adoption (Romans 8: 15) and thus we can declare:

"1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure." (1 John 3: 1-3)

"As he [Christ] is, so are we in this world!" (1 John 4:17)

So, if we are not seeking the Kingdom, then what should we be seeking?

Paul shares:

"1If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. 4When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory." (Colossians 3: 1-4)

We need to learn more about our new kingdom, and our King!

Paul prayed the following for us:

"That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places," (Ephesians 1: 17-20)

We need the eyes of our full intellect to be opened to all that God has given us through His Son!

How does this happen? When we learn how much God loves us:

"14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." (Ephesians 3: 14-19)

What is the love of God? What He did for us at the Cross, sending His Son to die for us, to rise for us, and the sit at His right hand, ministering on our behalf:

"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4: 9-10)

God sent His Son not just to die for us, but also to live through us, and this life He lives through us because He died for all our sins, and His blood continues to cleanse us from all sin (1 John 1: 7)

We can then enter into His grace, and He invites us to grow in grace and knowledge of Him, too (2 Peter 3: 18)

This is grace that we can keep on receiving because of the gift of righteousness:

"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5: 17)

Learn about the great inheritance which you have received in Christ, your King, and reign in life, Beloved!
