"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14: 6)
Jesus is our life.
Yet for many of us, we do not see this life manifested strongly in our lives.
Why?
Because we have not reckoned ourselves dead to sin:
"10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6: 10-11)
As long as we live concluding that we must put a stop to any frustrations or upsets in our lives, then we are not reckoning ourselves dead to sin.
Jesus did not die on the Cross just to purge all our sins, but also to give us Himself, His Life in us (John 10: 10; Colossians 3: 4)
Not only do we have His Life, but we are seated in heavenly places with Christ (Ephesians 2: 4-6)
Today, though, focus on the face that He has granted us eternal life:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (JOhn 3: 16)
Yet so many of us act as if we must live every day on our own, in our strength.
Paul rejected such a notion:
"8Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. 9But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? 10Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. 11I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain." (Galatians 4: 8-11)
We are not perfected through the law, or through our own efforts, but rather we face every day with His grace bringing us through every day:
"But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." (1 Corinthians 15:10)
and
"For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." (Romans 5: 17)
This grace we keep receiving, and He keeps on blessing us.
We do not receive His life, but then continue into the next day, or afterwards, in our efforts.
He is our Life, and our Life forever (that includes tomorrow!)
For this reason, Jesus taught:
"34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6: 34)
You have received His Life in you, and He is in your tomorrow!
