In "Conservative Establishment Divided Against Itself", Jonah Goldberg decries the "RINO"-plasty that has demonized credible Presidential candidates and their supportive conservative columnists.
I agree that Rockefeller Republicans (read "New England Moderates) have gone out of style in the party. However, I believe the flight of Republican "Mad Men" will be the transition needed not just to conserve the integrity of the GOP national caucus, but to enthrall independent and disaffected Democratic voters who are weary of slick politicians who promise much, deliver very little, yet manage to look good doing both.
