Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has declared once again to Arab-Muslim audiences around the Middle East that he will never recognize a Jewish State in the Middle East.
True to form as Prime Minister of the West Bank, Abbas babbles out of both sides of his mouth, preaching pious blather to the West, anti-Semitic hate to the Arab World.
Abbas also praised the kidnapping of Israel soldier Galid Shalit.
What is astounding is the brazen nature of this admission of Arab sentiment, now dominating the airwaves of the Middle East as the Arab Spring whithers into a tepid autumn rebellion and a chilling Islamist winter. Having advanced the cause of Palestinian statehood, joining the UNESCO as a member state, Abbas and his political-terrorist cronies are riding the wave of Arab discontent, harassing the Jewish state with the zeitgeist of populist uprisings that have swept more moderate elements out of power and catering to terrifying radical elements.
When will the West wake up to the ground-swells stirring up in the region? Iraq is forming a league with Iran, which will all but compensate for the fall of the House of al-Assad in Syria. Egypt is witnessing the vocal rise of the organized and dedicated Muslim Brotherhood; and Tunisia, the first nation to instigate the ongoing rebellions throughout the Middle East, has just elected Enhada, in effect a "Muslim Brotherhood"-lite cohort of Islamist who have paid questionable lip service to the moderate social reforms of the previous regime.
No wonder Abbas has become bolder in his push for Palestinian statehood and de-legitimization of Israel. If the West Bank leader did not catch the wave of popular Arab discontent, he would be swept from power next.
