Reflections on "My Utmost" November 20

"Forgiveness, which is so easy for us to accept, cost the agony of Calvary. It is possible to take the forgiveness of sin, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and our sanctification with the simplicity of faith, and to forget at what enormous cost to God it was all made ours."

Here, I cannot pass up pointing out the blessed efficacy of forgiveness that flows through every believer for His fellow man because of the Finished Work of Jesus Christ at the Cross!

Paul ever wrote of the same:

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." (Ephesians 4:32)

and

"Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye" (Colossians 3:13)

What a relief! We are not called to strive on our own to forgive other people who have harmed us, but rather to tap into the infinite measure of faith within each of us, and draw forth this blessed forgiveness to all!
