Does Chris Matthews know no bounds to his shameless plugging of empty liberal icons?
John F. Kennedy was a national Democrat, one who did not eschew pumping up national defense in the face of the growing Communist menace. For that, we credit his good intentions.
In domestic matters, he was not a strong leader; he was not a prominent mover and shaker regarding the Civil Rights Movement, either.
John F. Kennedy was an unfaithful man. Unfaithful to his wife and unfaithful to the greater needs of this country. He did not put up a strong front against Soviet Premier Nikita Krushchev.
The Bay of Pigs fiasco, Cuba Missile Crisis, the construction of the Berlin Wall -- these Soviet accomplishments during Kennedy's short time in office spell out unequivocally that there was a real lack of leadership in the White House.
