Reflections on "My Utmost" November 17

By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing . . . that in blessing I will bless thee. . . . — Genesis 22:15-19

Abraham has reached the place where he is in touch with the very nature of God, he understands now the Reality of God.

"My goal is God Himself . . .
At any cost, dear Lord, by any road."

When we want everything that God is, then we have everything else:

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

"He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Romans 8:31-32)

In Christ, we are protected from all accusation and condemnation. In Christ, all our needs and wants are met. This promise fulfills the security written by the Psalmist:

"Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." (Pslam 37:4)
