Executive Leadership a Must: Impounding

Thomas Jefferson did it.

Richard Nixon did it, too, but Congress took him to court.

If Nixon had not been weighed down with the Watergate scandal, he could have taken Congress to court for unconstitutional appropriations.

Much of what Congress outlays is unacceptable, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.

A chief executive who would refuse to release the funds would be able to pose a necessary check to the ongoing profligacy that is eating away at our future.

Refusing to spend money ensures that there will be no waste. Even the cost of disbursing the funds would be defrayed.
