Weekend at Bernie's Spinning the Same Tired Talking Points

Bernie Sanders is a socialist, or at least he talks about being one. But the guy also owns three condos and filled out tax forms showing him now occupying the 1%, not just occupying Wall Street or Main Street.

He is trying to rev up his movement again after Crooked Hillary stole the nomination from him in 2016. His latest eblast for the New Year exposes an old man pushing the same old ideas which have no benefit for the country as a whole or individual citizens in the country.

Friends of Bernie Sanders

Dear Arthur--

What a year it was!

Yes. We all know that we have seen a president take office who is the most dishonest, bigoted, divisive and reactionary president in the modern history of our country.

How is Trump bigoted? How is Trump divisive? Such hollow hate-mongering no longer has any value. After one year of President Trump in the White House, wealth creation for all ethnic backgrounds has increased considerably. Black unemployment, especially among black youth has plummet. Americans of Hispanic descent have seen unprecedented economic growth, as well.

The truth is, when the President talks about Making America Great Again, he was talking about all Americans, without regard to their ethnic background. This is a winning President with winning economic results.

We have also seen a right-wing extremist, Republican Congress attempt to throw up to 32 million Americans off of the health care they have, give hundreds of billions in tax breaks to the richest people in our country and the largest corporations, destroy environmental legislation and work overtime to deny women the right to control their own bodies.

More hollow talking points. Don't these regressive leftists have any shame left? They just lie, lie, lie. Obamacare threw millions of their health insurance plans, then forced them to purchase plans that were unaffordable and useless, or charge them a fine.

Yes. We have seen all of that and much more. But we are also seeing something else that, from an historical perspective, is far more important. We are seeing the American people come together, fight back and win important victories all across the country.

The important victories in this country resulted from President Trump's domestic and foreign policy feats.

During my campaign for president in 2016 I stated over and over again that the future of our country was dependent upon our willingness to make a political revolution. I stressed that real change never occurs from the top on down. It always happens from the bottom on up. No real change in American history, not the labor movement, the civil rights movement, the women's movement, the gay rights movement, the environmental movement or any other movement has ever had success without grassroots activism, without millions of people engaged in the struggle for justice.

We the People launched a revolution--against the Deep State, against the Swamp, against the Potomac Two-Step in which crony interests on both sides of the aisle passed legislation that benefited themselves and their donors while ignoring the needs, the rights of American citizens. Bernie, you are part of the 1% problem!

Bernie Sanders gets rich off of influence peddling and class warfare demagoguery. There's nothing principled or relevant about such hollow talking points. He claims that the poor are getting poorer. NO they are not. Tax cuts, more money for individual citizens, businesses, and even corporations ensures that more people, more investments, more jobs appear.

That's what I said when I ran for president. That's what I believe now and that's what millions of us have been working to accomplish over the last several years. At a time of massive and growing income and wealth inequality, when our nation moves closer and closer to an oligarchic form of society, we are working hard and effectively to create an unprecedented grassroots political movement to defeat the greed of the billionaire class and the politicians they own.

Millions of people have been trying to find work, Bernie! Open borders, bad trade deals, a lack of public safety and border security undermined the welfare and well-being of American citizens. When are you going to start paying to smart economic policies which help Americans and put their needs first, foremost, and final?

And the good news is that we're making progress. In state after state ordinary Americans are successfully taking on establishment politicians who are more concerned about protecting their wealthy campaign contributors than the needs of the middle class or working people they are supposed to represent.

Sanders wants to get donations. Donations for what, exactly? This guy even supported the tax cuts, acknowledging that the cuts would put more money back into the hands of the Americans earning the money. He even wanted to make the tax cuts permanent. US Senator Ted Cruz offered this bill and invited Bernie Sanders to co-sponsoring the legislation. To this day, Sanders has not returned comment or offered to join the effort.

In 2017 we made progress when millions of people, in every state in the country, took to the streets for the Women's March in opposition to Trump's reactionary agenda. We made progress when an unprecedented grassroots movement elected a young African-American as mayor of Birmingham, Alabama. We made progress when tens of thousands of Americans turned out in rallies and town meetings to successfully oppose the Republican efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and we're making progress when more and more Americans are joining the fight for a Medicare-for-all, single-payer program.

Stopping repeal of the Affordable Care Act was a victory for the conservative grassroots because the original proposed repeal effort was not acceptable. There will be more opportunities to do away with that terrible law.

Then Sanders wants to talk about the Women's March, as though a bunch of left-wing progressives raging in the streets counts as any form of success. The numbers have been dwindling over the past year. No matter how hard these leftists thrown temper tantrums in the street, President Trump is still ... President Trump, and the Republicans are still pushing through their effective agenda.

We're making progress when governors and local officials in every part of the country announce, in response to student demands, tuition-free public colleges and universities. We're making progress when states and communities from coast to coast adopt legislation which provides a minimum wage of $15 an hour.

Demanding free stuff is progress, Bernie? If you feel that strongly about free college, $15 minimum wage hikes, and free health care, then when will you start by donating all the money you earned from the sales of your book?

Weekend at Bernie's is a hollow hypocrite who preaches hatred of the rich and confiscation of property as the means to solve all the problems in the world. Even if a 100% was imposed on incomes above $1 million on everhy person in the country, the final revenue would not come nearly close to paying for all the free stuff Sanders is promising.

What a hollow fraud! I cannot wait for him to get pushed out of office!

We're making progress when, on Election Day, Nov. 7, 2017, in local and state elections all across the country, Trumpism suffered a major defeat as hundreds of progressive first time candidates from every conceivable background ran for school board, city council, state legislature and other local offices - and many of them won.

How did Trumpism suffer a defeat on Election Day? What is Trump ism?

We're making progress when, on Dec. 10, 2017, a strong Democrat was elected to the U.S. Senate from Alabama, one of the most conservative states in the country.

Did he just write December 10? The special election in Alabama occurred on December 12. He can't even get the dates right! By the way, Doug Jones won because of a massive media onslaught based on lies and distortions against the Republican nominee. On top of that, NRSC big-wigs refused to put any money into the race. Other sources do indicate that Judge Roy Moore did not run the strongest campaign, including the fact that he had a pretty weak ground game. Ugh.

The truth is that the American people are far more united than the media allows us to believe. They get it. They know that over the last 40 years, despite a huge increase in worker productivity, the middle class has continued to shrink while the very rich have become much richer. They know that, for the first time in the modern history of the United States, our kids will likely have a lower standard of living than their parents.

The American people are united, in that the want this country to be great again, and they want their children to enjoy a prosperous future. Barack Obama and his phalanx of progressive cronies wanted to ruin those hopes at every turn.

Our job, in 2018 and beyond, for the sake of our kids and grandchildren, is to bring our people together around a progressive agenda.

Are the people of our country deeply concerned about the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality that we are experiencing? You bet they are. Do they believe that our campaign finance system is corrupt and enables the rich to buy elections? By overwhelming numbers.

No, people do NOT believe that. You lied to people to fall for that canard. What hatred. It's time to stand up to these lies in every way possible.

Do they want to raise the minimum wage to a living wage and provide pay equity for women workers? Yes they do. Do they think the very rich and large corporations should pay more in taxes so that all of our kids can have free tuition at public colleges and universities? Yup. Do they believe that the United States should join every other major country and guarantee health care as a right? Yes, again. Do they believe climate change is real? You've got to be kidding. Are they tired of the United States of America, the wealthiest country in the history of the world, having a crumbling infrastructure with roads, bridges, water systems, wastewater plants, airports, rail, levees and dams falling apart? Who isn't?

The minimum wage is not supposed to be a living wage, never. It's an entry level wage so that men and women could acquire skills, credentials, and strength as an employee to seek better jobs and more lucrative employment. No one was ever expected to live on a minimum wage for the entire lives.

Further, a majority of the American people want comprehensive immigration reform and a criminal justice system that is based on justice, not racism or mass incarceration.

UH ... not the American people do not want immigration "reform", if it means opening the borders and allowing illegal aliens to pour into this country and bring a third-world culture inimical to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Today, what the American people want is not what they are getting. In fact, under Republican leadership in the House, Senate and White House, they are getting exactly the opposite of what they want.

What a crock! Bernie Sanders is getting a tax cut, along with 91% of Americans. These guys are such terrible liars. They don't realize that the media frauds are no longer working their destructive magic on the average consumers of news.

The American people want a government which represents all of us. Instead, they are getting a government which represents the interests and extremist ideology of wealthy campaign contributors. They want environmental policies which combat climate change and pollution, and which will allow our kids to live in a healthy and habitable planet. Instead, they are getting executive orders and legislation which pushes more fossil fuel production, more greenhouse gas emissions and more pollution. They want a nation in which all people are treated with dignity and respect, and where we continue our decades long struggle to end discrimination based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or nation of origin. Instead, they have a president who seeks to win political support appealing to those very prejudices.

Maintaining a vibrant democracy based on principles of justice has never been easy. In these dangerous and unprecedented times, it may be more difficult than ever.

As a result of the disastrous Citizens United Supreme Court decision, billionaires are now able to spend hundreds of millions in ugly TV ads demonizing candidates who dare to stand up to them. Republican governors and legislatures are working to suppress the vote, making it harder for people of color, poor people and young people to vote. Republican state legislatures have created incredibly gerrymandered districts which unfairly protect Republican candidates.

Blah, blah, blah ... Citizens United. I didn't know that Sanders had a problem with the First Amendment. If he hates Freedom of Speech so much, why does he send out eblast after eblast asking for more money? He has run for office a number of times, has he not? Doesn't he rely on speech, doesn't he rely on money to get his speech out.

Yes, I know. These are painful and frightening times. Many friends have told me that they have given up reading the papers or watching TV. But let us be clear. Despair is not an option. Not today. Not tomorrow. Not anytime. That is exactly what our enemies want. Also, please never forget that the struggle we are engaged in is not just for us. It is for our kids and grandchildren. It is for the future of the planet.

Not for me, Bernie. Life has never been better for me and the hundreds of millions of Americans who had witnessed eight years of Barack Obama degrade this country and try to drag it down to a second-tier or third-world level. The stock market is not just rallying, but men and women around the country at all levels of life are enjoy renewed prosperity.

So here is a New Year's resolution I hope you will share with me. In 2018 we will not only intensify the struggle against Trumpism, we will increase our efforts to spread the progressive vision in every corner of the land. Yes. We will create a vibrant democracy where the voices of all people are heard. Yes. We will create a nation which leads the world in the struggle for peace, and for economic, social, racial and environmental justice.

Trumpism. Really? Is that the best that he could come up with? Such empty talking points. With more anti-American talk like this, do the Democrats really think they have a chance?

The struggle continues.

Bernie Sanders

The struggle, the struggle, the struggle is all that these left-wing agitators talk about. It's a symptom of their conflict theory ideology which views everything as a fight between oppressor and oppressed. There are winners and losers, and the winners are fixing the system to ensure that everyone else loses. What a load of garbage.

There are hierarchies of all kinds, and many of them are based on biology, choice, talent, inspiration, geography, not just raw power differentials.

But the real struggle for truth is not over. Freedom is not free, and truth does not remain an eternal constant in the minds of one generation to another. It's time for us to get back to teaching the truth about free markets, free enterprise, and free people. Men and women need to relearn the blessed history of this beautiful country, and they need to understand that the United States is indeed the greatest country on earth!

The answer to the ills in this county are not to create more poverty. The solution is not to equalize everyone into misery and poverty. The fact is that inequity is not going away, and it's not the problem to focus on. There are at least two billion people in the world who are living on $2 a day. The solution to these inequities is not to open the borders of the United States to illegal aliens. The solution is to infuse and embrace of Judeo-Christian values, the Gospel, and a welcome appreciation for free enterprise, free from government corruption and collusion.

Shame on these socialist sympathizers! Bernie Sanders is part of the problem in this country!
