The Liberal Press Talk About Separated Families, Ignore Dead American Children

Sabine Durden, an immigrant from Germany now a proud American citizen, was a featured keynote speaker at the RNC Convention in 2016. Along with Jamiel Shaw and Mary Ann Mendoza, Durden related the horrific yet underreported travesty of illegal aliens who have killed American citizens. Her only son Dominic Durden, a sheriff’s dispatcher, was killed in a traffic accident in Moreno Valley. The illegal alien got 35 days in jail, barely one month.

Many times, these illegals get short or even suspended sentences after killing Americans. It’s bad enough losing a loved one, but to lose a friend or family member because our federal government refused to enforce our immigration laws is just unconscionable. Even when the murderers get caught and prosecuted, law enforcement can lose track of these criminals. When federal officials deport these creeps, they re-enter the country. In the most egregious case, illegal alien Jose Zarate, deported five times, broke into this country, stole a firearm from a federal official, then killed Kate Steinle in broad daylight in sanctuary city San Francisco. A jury of social justice warrior Millennials acquitted the thug.

Unbelievable.

Yet the liberal press still publishes articles and editorials detailing the plight of the illegal. The most brazen sob story yet detailed the outcome for a “Michigan Dad deported to Mexico.” The title alone bears out the bias for what the headline leaves out, as well as the reported content. To put it bluntly, Jorge Garcia resided in the United States illegally. His parents broke into this country with Jose when he was 9 years old. Here’s the first paragraph in the Detroit Free Press Article:

After 30 years of living in the U.S, Garcia, a 39-year-old Lincoln Park landscaper, was deported on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday from metro Detroit to Mexico, a move supporters say was another example of immigrants being unfairly targeted under the Trump administration.

Not one mention of the fact that Garcia was an illegal alien. And how did this guy get away with living in the shadows for so long? Instead, we get the heart-breaking details of a family man giving his wife and children a hug with a final farewell. To heighten the account, the reporter underscores that Garcia was deported on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Break out the Kleenex. Of course, many reporters and the liberal media in general ignore the fact that King was a vocal opponent of illegal immigration, despite his tireless record as a civil rights activist and cooperant with labor unions throughout the South. Such revelations would spoil the emotionally charged narrative which the liberal, anti-Trump press is determined to foment for the public.

Fortunately, these effusive, heavy-handed emotional appeals are not working anymore. The very idea that enforcement of our immigration laws is “not fair” just boggles the average reader’s imagination. What’s unfair for many voters in this country is that the previous President spent more time prioritizing the needs of illegal aliens, exploiting the plight of young illegals with the unconstitutional DACA program to promote his 2012 re-election chances and create a lingering wedge issue for Republicans going forward.

Illegals like Jorge Garcia get all the attention, while millions of Americans, particularly in Rust Belt states, were pushed out of jobs because cheap illegal immigrant labor lowered their wages. What about the blue-collar communities eviscerated by the declining manufacturing base, the bad trade deals which shipped industries to third-world countries?

Worst of all, why haven’t reporters written at length about the pain of American families like Sabine Durden’s, immigrant families who followed the rule of law to enter this country, who strived and saved to pass through the rigorous demands to become lawful residents of this country? They worked hard, played by the rules, passed all the tests, paid all the fees (and they are substantial). Why isn’t their determination respected? And there is no greater pain than an American citizen who immigrated to this country, only to witness their children murdered by an illegal alien. Such is the tragedy for Sabine Durden. Where was the safety for her son? What about the safety for the average of 20-25 Americans a day killed by illegals?

Instead of covering this disturbing fallout from illegal immigration, the press reports more tear-jerker copy like the statement below, including a statement from the local teacher’s union, which slams President Trump for his “tone-deaf” enforcement of our nation’s immigration laws.  “If Jorge isn't safe, no one is safe."

What about Americans’ safety, from Suffolk County, New York to San Diego, CA? Besides, Garcia’s fate wasn’t a secret or sudden judgment for anyone. At least the article featured the lengthy legal processes which Garcia and his family faced. The United States is a nation of laws, the essence of security, both national and domestic. There are plenty of illegals in this country who return to their home countries sooner and get on the pathway to citizenship. Garcia and family chose to flaunt and skirt this country’s immigration laws. Didn’t his wife realize that having a family was not going to shield Jorge from deportation in the future?

Sabine's final moments with her son Dominic
The national media wants to talk about Cindy Garcia’s pain and suffering. She gets a featured spot on “The View”, and she will be a guest for President Trump’s second inaugural address. What are Democrats hoping to prove? What about American citizens harmed by illegal immigration? When will their stories capture this country’s attention? With that, I leave you with the picture of Sabine holding her dead son Dominic’s hand one last time as he lay on a morgue slab (see above).

Oh, and by the way, while Jorge Garcia is currently removed from his family in Mexico, they can still visit him. For Sabine, she only has the memory of her son. I wonder how our political class would feel if they held the hands of our American dead children, then looked into the eyes of grieving parents as they defend protecting illegals in this country.
