"Applause is the spur of noble minds, the end and aim of weak ones."
We receive favor from our Heavenly Father when we believe on the power of His Son, whose blood was shed for us to redeem us from sin and bring us into right standing with God.
Therefore, one could say that every believer receives the fulsome applause and favor of the Father, just as Jesus did on the day He was baptized:
"This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17)
We can claim this favor, for the apostle John declared:
"Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." (1 John 4:17)
I am beloved of God, I am well-pleasing to Him, because I am in Christ, made the righteousness of God.
If I have the approval of Almighty God, then I have no need to solicit favor from man. Paul wrote the very same:
"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." (Galatians 1:10)
If we have boldness and strength from God, why sacrifice it for the weak and beggarly elements of human praise?
Be the apple of God's eye today in faith, full of His grace and love!
