Asian Journal Publications and Vietnam Memorial

The Philippines has unveiled a memorial commemorating Vietnamese general Ho Chi Minh.

Could there be any great use and abuse of history?

Ho Chi Minh was a killer, a mass-murderer who hounded middle-class types fleeing Indochina after the fall of Saigon.

He decimated his nation's economy, persecuted political and economic dissidents, and caused the Vietnamese nation and people to stagnate for decades.

The Filipino people should not be celebrating so cold and cruel a Communist dictator.
