Voice for Choice Action Alert: STOP the CA Immunization Registry and Assault on "Physician Misinformation"

AB 1797 will be heard in Assembly Health Committee

on Tuesday at 1:30pm

AB 2098 will be heard

in Assembly Business and Professions Committee

on Tuesday at 9:00am

Email legislators on the Committees TODAY

asking them to Oppose AB 1797 and AB 2098!

AB 1797 Immunization registry, introduced by Asm Akilah Weber would add race/ethnicity to the information recorded in the CA Immunization Registry, would require all vaccines to be entered into the CA Immunization Registry (CAIR).  Schools and other entities would have access to all vaccine records, rather than just those of their students/patients or the particular vaccines required for school, during a public health emergency.

AB 1797 will be heard in the Assembly Health Committee on Tuesday, April 19 at 1:30pm.

A Voice for Choice Advocacy sent a detailed letter to the Assembly Health Committee outlining our numerous concerns with the bill.  You can read our letter here: (https://avoiceforchoiceadvocacy.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/AVFCA-AB1797-Letter-of-Opposition-Weber.pdf)

AB 2098 Physicians and surgeons: unprofessional conduct, introduced by Asm Evan Low,  would designate the dissemination or promotion of misinformation or disinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, or “COVID-19,” by a physician or surgeon as unprofessional conduct, allowing the Medical Board to take action against such physician or surgeon.  Board will base their consideration on “applicable standard of care” and “contemporary scientific consensus” neither of which currently exist for COVID-19.(https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=202120220AB2098)

AB 2098 will be heard in the Assembly Business and Professions Committee on Tuesday, April 19 at 9:00am.

A Voice for Choice Advocacy has made it easy for you to email the Assembly Members on each of the respective Committees to ask them to Oppose the bill before them.  For legislators to read your email (and not assume it as a mass marketing campaign), it is important that your letter is personalized to your situation, so be sure to outline how AB 1797 and AB 2098 would affect you and your family.  You can use some of the talking points from AVFCA's letters (linked above) but don't copy them!

2) If you are a MD or DO, share this with your colleagues, and ask them to oppose AB 2098

3) Forward this email to anyone in California, especially doctors and parents.  Share this email on social media: https://avoiceforchoiceadvocacy.org/action-alert-ab-1797-ab-2098-hearing/
