House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi withdrew from the spotlight shortly after ObamaCare was passed. She turned into a liability for her caucus and the President because of a number of her "legislative flubs".
Before Pelosi became a major player in Washington politics, reporter Jan Helfeld confrontede her. Earlier in her tenure, she flubbed on the minimum wage, exposing her double standard on the matter. Jan Helfeld questioned her about the rate that she paid her interns in her office compared to what every other business have to pay. She refused to come clean on the fact that she does not honor the minimum wage laws.
Her more recent flubs include the following:
"We have to pass the [health care] bill so that you can see what's in it."
Of course, she is not the only liberal California Congressional member to admit that they do not read the legislation which they pass onto the President, which then presses on us. Congressman Henry Waxman (D-Beverly Hills) admitted in a West Los Angeles townhall meeting that he does not read every bill, either.
Before and after ObamaCare passed, Pelosi let loose with some other foolish flubs.
When a reporter asked Pelosi if ObamaCare was constitutional, she chided:
"Are you serious? Are you serious?"
She once called ObamaCare protesters "AstroTurf", then alluded that they were sympathetic to Nazi principles.
After the bill passed, Pelosi "comforted" artists and entrepreneurs with the following:
"Quit your job we'll provide healthcare." She basically invited people to become shiftless takers because the thrifty taxpayer would cover their medical expenses under ObamaCare.
One reporter requested clarification about the consequences of not purchasing heatlh insurance under "ObamaCare", yet she remained disturbingly evasive.
Following the passage of ObamaCare, Pelosi also claimed that "32 million would have health insurance" with the passage of ObamaCare, when in reality millions have lost employer-backed health insurance because of the prolix legislation.
Pelosi has also confused the Eleventh and the Fourteenth Amendment when discussing whether President Obama had the authority to raise the debt ceiling without Congressional authorization.
Other notably distressing comments from Pelosi include her claims that unemployment benefits are '"job creating", when in truth unemployment benefits reserves are considerably depleted in many states, a fiscal problem which creates more deficits and debt in the states, followed by depressed job growth.
Pelosi has not only declared misleading or uninformed comments, she has carried on answers which did nothing but confuse. This clip defies description. Voters have to see and hear it to believe it, yet even then they will have nothing to say beyond "Unbelievable".
Obamacare still remains on the books, yet the Bush tax cuts are about to expire and a massive sequester will pass on January 2 2013, taking down with it huge cuts in military and domestic spending. Going from flubs to the fiscal cliff, Congresswoman Pelosi, along with her liberal Senate counterpart Chuck Schumer, has supported the motion that tax hikes should be increased for millionaires as opposed to every individual who makes $250k or more.
House Speaker John Boehner advanced this proposal, along with comprehensive entitlement reform. The President rejected this offering from House Speaker. Nevertheless, Pelosi is convinced that House Democrats will stand with the President during the current tense budget negotiations in Washington.
From flubs to contradictions to incomprehensible remarks, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi should guard her uneasy interest as a representative for San Francisco residents. She is the same spokesman for the Obama Administration who candidly admitted that the President helped push gas prices three times higher than under the Bush Administration. Following the fiscal cliff deal or fallout, Pelosi may need to reconsider whether she runs for office again.
With her remarkably bad record of inconsistent comments and advocacy for unsustainable fiscal policies, perhaps House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi's uneasy incumbency needs to come to a decisive end.
thanks for share.
