George W. Bush is enjoying a brief renaissance.
People have blamed him for the sorry state of the economy.
They blame him for our failed policies in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The GOP loves him because he helped bring 40% of the Hispanic vote to the GOP in 2004.
The Republicans need that kind of draw once again.
They also need his resolve to cut taxes and appoint conservative justices.
If the GOP wants his help to bring in the bigger Hispanic vote, then fine.
We do not need his help when it comes to spending, government intervention, or the growth of American prominence in the Middle East.
Hispanics, like every other person in this country, deserve respect and opportunity to achieve.
As long as the governments insists on picking winners and losers, more people will lose out on opportunities to do better.
