On the Democrats' Chances in North Carolina

Gary Pearce, a former North Carolina Democratic consultant, said about his party’s chances this year : "I think the greatest strength that the party has is President Obama. And he's the thing that people will rally around."

Even President Obama cannot rally around himself to stir up support for his reelection!

In a crass and calculated political move, the president has supported gay marriage, which the residents of North Carolina have resoundingly rejected in a recently enacted Constitutional Amendment.
This president’s stimulus spending and anti-business rhetoric have threatened investment and entrepreneurship in this country.

His signature law, ObamaCare, has grown more unpopular over time, and is certain to be repealed either by the Supreme Court or the next Congress.

Obama is so out of touch, that he is investing more time and energy running his reelection campaign instead of running this country. His recent visit to my native state to raise record donations all but exposes where his real interests lie.

Democrats in North Carolina have plenty of reasons to rethink their chances this year, especially if one of their most respected political operatives still holds onto the failed and naïve fantasy that voters are still enthralled with President Obama.
