Honestly, I do not see why anyone in the United States Diplomatic Corps is pondering whether Israel will attack Iran or not.
The Israelis destroyed Saddam Hussein's nuclear reactors in Osirak, a welcome move which prompted hollow condemnation and inner praise in government agencies throughout the world. I do hope that the United States chooses to sit out any more fights in the Middle East.
We did not need to go into Libya. We do not need to invade Syria. We have no right or reason at this point to escalate a conflict with the Ahmadinejad regime.
Thank God for clear heads like Meir Dagan, who have not neglected to point out the pro-American faction and growing among the young Persians, who are just as eager to remove Madman Mahmoud from power as soon as possible.
The United States needs to muscle in soft power and covert unrest, if necessary. If Nixon could help topple Allende in 1973 Chile, what would stop top brass in Washington from instigating internal strife in Tehran and throughout?
