Oily Neighbors Face Slippery Situations

A long time has passed since the oil wells in Redondo were digged then closed up. Despite the potential dangers associated with explorning for oil near residences and schools, the benefits far outweigh the costs.

There is no reason why the residents in the South Bay should fear oil exploration of the coast of Hermosa Beach. In fact, the district could use the resources invested in the community as well as the relief at the pump. Technology has greatly improved since then. The United States government and BP cleaned up the nasty oil spill in the Gulf Coast faster than expected because of innovation and improved communication.
