The Mainstream Media has been dishing on the former Vice President for quite some time. No doubt pundits relish seeing the former Vice-President, and outspoken gadfly of the Obama Administration, getting treated at length for heart issues. Of course, some may joke that this outspoken statesman who helped craft the war resolution and lead this country into an extended military engagement in the Middle East has no heart to begin with. Still, it is noteworthy, if not distasteful, that major newspapers have chosen to bring attention to the ongoing heart troubles still affecting Richard Cheney.
Aside from his controversial role in the United States' entry into Iraq and his questionable ties to Halliburton, Dick Cheney has never been afraid to court controversy.
A veritable insider who got inside war and peace, Cheney served as chief-of-staff to Gerald Ford, sectary of under Bush I, represented Wyoming as the state's at-large Congressman, then took on the Vice-Presidency for Bush II's entire tenure. In some capacities presenting a more extensive capability to run things in Washington, he was one of the most powerful second-tier politicians in the capital.
No wonder the man has undergone so many heart surgeries, now needing another heart altogether.
If there is any reason why a man should have second-thoughts about pulling the strings in Washington D.C., consider the fate of the former Wyoming Congress, who had his nose in everything, foreign and domestic, that was decided in the Oval Office during Bush II's presidency.
Instead of investigating the obvious health problems of an elderly man who remains marginally involved in the nationwide conversation on national security, why not investigate the lack of hearth and integrity in the Obama Administration, which had no reserve about prolonging this nation's failing committment to Afghanistan while perpetuating more centralizing regimens on the American people, also in clear violation of the enumerated power in the Constitution? This madness must stop, following up on officials in previous administrations while ignoring the thick-headed and absent-minded policies of the current presidency. If anyone lacks a heart for leadership and governing sense, that would be President Obama.
