Every man has a bad day -- but there is no point in entering an argument with a journalist merely looking for a fight.
Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum has suffered the same indignity which afflicts many who seek higher office: the distortion of their comments and their record.
Yet there is no value in trying to make your cases to a journalist who seeks to make a case for himself, nothing more, nothing less.
It is unfortunate that the former Senator lost his temper and cursed. He does not deserve to be castigated for a slip of the tongue. Instead, he and his Republican colleagues must maintain the message at all costs. No matter how distracting the media may become in trying to create a story, statesmen and politicians alike can still speak the truth at length, and not attempt to defend themselves, for the truth will out, no matter how loud may cry the lie.
