Jesus came to take captivity captive, not converts.
Grace cannot be forced on anyone; it must be received by faith.
No one can force another to receive a gift. It is given, and it is up to the destined recipient to receive it.
Jesus never forced the Kingdom of Heaven on anybody; He refused to be crowned a king by the masses. He came to do one thing: to die on the Cross, reconciling fallen humanity to His Loving Father.
Hence, the inherent, innate evil of forcing religion on anyone.
Bible-thumping is a great evil, a Pharisaical folly that imposes burdens on those who do not believe, that they must do something to be saved.
Yet the salvation of God is a gift. Sadly, man may receive or reject; and to reject so great a salvation is eternal death and separation from God.
Socialism is government by force, no matter how benevolent the means or intentions. One authority, either individual, group, or the masses, votes power to an agency, which in turn controls the means of production. Rather than allowing individuals the freedom and the responsibility to choose the best or the most suited options for themselves, the instituted powers make, no force a limited series of options on everyone. Indeed, everyone is treated equally in results, yet the outcomes needed for each person is too diverse, too limitless to be define by one operating, planning, controlling agency.
Socialism is antithetical to choice, to humanity, to the Truth.
Hence, Christian Socialism is a greater evil, of not the greatest, for those in power, dressing their motives in Christ-like grace, invoke a hellish tyranny, one complicity with the works of the flesh, a doctrine of demons which beguiles many, and oppresses those of true faith.
Socialism is Evil, whether Christian or Secular.
