Revolution, Retribution, and Restoration Part III

Revolution is about shaking up the established order, political or natural.

Just as planets turn in their orbits and around the sun, so political regimes change, though not based on the power of nature's law, but the will of men. And the will of men, self-willed and arrogant, creates more chaos than order if unchecked.

Revolution over the past two centuries has devolved into Retribution against a head of state and a class of people, only to establish another tyranny respecting another limited class of people with another power-mad head of state.

Humanity looks for leadership, fearing its own freedom.

Yet there was one revolution which accomplished everything, not only upending the political order, but exacting retribution for all the wrong that man has done and suffered at the hands of other men. This retribution not only satisfied the eternal rage that weighed on mankind, but provided restoration forever.

This revolution began with Jesus Christ, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, reduced to humanity, yet ever God, suffering as we have suffered, enduring injustice, healing the broken, forgiving the condemned, and taking in His body all the wrath, all the wrong, all the injustice of mankind -- all to make us one in righteousness with God the Father.

When he stood before Pontius Pilate on the night he was to be crucified, Jesus declared His power and majesty:

" My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence." (John 18:36)

He is a King, and he came before Pilate declaring His Majesty. Yet His own, refusing to receive Him, crucified Him.

If ever there was a more bloody, bloodthirsty coup, it was Jesus Christ dying on Calvary. Yet in this revolution, the Head of State, Lord of us all, gave up His power willingly. He was neither victim nor martyr when He died on the Cross.

There, at Calvary, where the religious authorities, the masses, all humanity, put God to death, He fulfilled the plan of redemption, or restoration laid down by Father, Son, and Holy Spirit before the foundation of the world. In man's retribution, God established their restoration, their redemption through the shed blood of the Savior.

So, for the upset and upsetting peoples of the Arab world who seek revenge, who seek justice for all that they have suffered, the blood of bullies and dictators will never assuage their rage, or cleanse their guilt. Only the spilled blood of the King of Kings can restore to every man who believes on Him -- all that he has lost, his respect, his right, his reason -- his righteousness.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." (John 8:38)

And

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)

God's Revolution through Retribution against His own Son brings Restoration to all through the Holy Spirit.

More than rights, more than respect, every man needs righteousness! And by His stripes, by the death of our Lord and Creator, we all have access to this most precious of gifts!
