DeMaio Blasts Gov. Newsom After He Threatens to Withhold Gas Tax Funds for Road Repairs
“This proves exactly what we warned everyone about during the Prop 6 Gas Tax Repeal Campaign”
In releasing his proposed California state budget, Gov. Gavin Newsom included a proposal to hold back SB1 Gas Tax funds from cities unless they agree to change various housing policies. If Newsom’s proposal is enacted, taxpayers will be forced to pay the higher gas tax rates without receiving the benefit for road repairs.

“Is anyone surprised that only a few months after defeating Prop 6 that Sacramento politicians are threatening to divert our gas tax funds? This outrageous threat shows that Sacramento politicians simply cannot trusted with our gas tax funds and they are not interested in fixing our roads," said Carl DeMaio, chairman of Reform California.

DeMaio and Reform California led Yes on 6 – the Gas Tax Repeal campaign during the 2018 election cycle, activating an army of over 30,000 volunteers who helped collect nearly 1 million signatures to qualify Prop 6 to get it on the Nov 6 ballot, and who later helped the proposition earn 45% of the vote despite the campaign being outspent 22-to-1.

Gas is ... $5 a Gallon in Campbell, CA! Vote YES on Prop 6!

Yes. The price for a gallon of gasoline has hit $5:

I kid you not.

After wrapping up an event in Campbell, CA, I went to gas up my car as I headed south.

Then I noticed on of the gas stations at the Corner of Tomas Aquino and Campbell Blvd. in the city of Campbell. This is the same city, by the way, which LGBT Assemblyman Evan Low had "Served" as a city councilman.

Then he went onto the state assembly, where since then he has been attacking the First Amendment rights of Californians. He also tried to shut down churches and ban the Bible with his misguided, bigoted legislation.

When does this insanity stop?

We can't afford this! The gas is too damn high!

Someone, stop the hurting! Stop the insanity!

We need everyone! EVERYONE to vote YES on 6! Repeal the Car and Gas Tax Hike!

Torrance City Council Meeting, October 2, 2018: Big Victories

At the October 2, 2018 Torrance City Council Meeting, I wanted to speak on two issues:

1. The city council recommendations on key propositions.

2. Public comment, to address the city council taking a stand against SB 54, especially in light of the Huntington Beach victory in Orange County Superior Court.

Two of the Brown Supremacists showed up to try to cause trouble, but they were just added entertainment. I was informed that a police officer on site as well as the sergeant at arms were keeping an eye on all disturbances.

Everything worked out just fine for me.

What was really gratifying about this meeting was that I showed up to speak out on certain issues, and the conservative majority overruled the city staff and the liberal mayor and his colleague Tim Goodrich.

The Legislative Committee opposed Prop 6, for example. The committee is composed of

1. Mayor Pat Furey
2. Councilman Tim Goodrich
3. Councilman Milton Herring

The committee voted 2-1 against the repeal of the gas tax.

Milton Herring explained at length his opposition to this measure, as did Mike Griffiths.

I gave a full statement against this terrible gas tax, and I not just fully supported the repeal of the tax, I even brought out the Yes on 6 sign.

The city staff Oppose Prop 6, but Councilman Mattucci moved, and Herring seconded the motion to SUPPORT Prop 6.

Councilman Rizzo joined the four conservatives and voted to Support Prop 6!

The best turnaround occured with Prop 3, which wants to bring in another water bond. The argument from the city staff is that the city gets all the state tax money.

But the costs fall long-term onto everyone, and there is no guarantee that Torrance will get the requisite funds needed to secure full funding for all projects. I was the only member of the audience to speak against Prop 3.

My arguments were well taken, and the motion to support Prop 3 failed 4-3.

YES!

Later on, Mike Griffiths revisited the issue and submitted a separate motion for the city of Torrance to oppose Prop 3.

That passed! BAM!

I believe that my statement against that terrible measure made the difference.

For the first time in a long time, I feel that I have power, I have influence on that city council.

Mayor Pat Furey may preside over the meeting, but he does not have the votes for his agenda any more. The city of Torrance is becoming more conservative, not just more Republican.

I am so glad to live here, and I have no intention of leaving at all!

There are five Republicans, and at least four conservatives willing to cast their votes against the grain and do what is best of the city, responding to the concerns of down-to-earth citizens rather than running to sit at the "kool kidz' table"--which isn't really all that cool to begin with.

This is great. I am so glad to see the city council charting an independent course, rather than doing what the staff tell them to do.

I can't wait to see this city council take a firm stance against the pension debt and liabilities eating up the budget.

We need the city to take a firm stance against SB 54 and comply with all federal immigration laws. We need to restore Second Amendment protections to Torrance citizens. Our police department needs support ... and discipline.

I would also like to see a city council which takes a more active role in challenging Sacramento's decrepit, corrupt overreach.

This past meeting, I saw some incredible victories, and I was glad to be a big part of it!

Here's the main video with the city council discussion on the propositions:

Southern California News Group Endorses John Cox for Governor

Hell has frozen over.

The Southern California Newsgroup has announced their endorsement for Governor of California.

They are endorsing John Cox!

This is huge!

Find out what they support Cox over Gas Tax Gavin!

PUBLISHED: September 23, 2018 at 9:00 am | UPDATED: September 23, 2018 at 9:00 am
Although California’s economy has pockets of strength, the state is also home to the nation’s highest poverty rate, when the cost of living is taken into account. The growing inequality and the affordability issues that are driving so many middle-income families out of the state are serious concerns and should be the centerpiece of the debate in the governor’s race.

Yes. Make California Affordable Again!

We believe the state would be best served by the election of John Cox as the next governor of California.

Yes, it would. Someone who is not part of the California State Political Swamp!

Cox, a successful businessman who lives in the San Diego area, offers a balanced, non-ideological approach, favoring lower taxes and reform of overreaching government regulations, along with support for the state’s clean-energy goals and environmental protection.

Yes, without breaking the bank or pushing us onto the street.

Two of the state’s most pressing problems — the crisis in housing affordability and the state’s neglected infrastructure — are caused, Cox argues, by flawed government decisions and policies. The cost of building a house or fixing a mile of road is far higher in California than in other states because of accumulated rules, fees and taxes that have themselves become a greater problem than whatever problem they were originally intended to address.

It is time for a change.

Yes, we need a change, a change away from the Democratic Party! The Demon-Rat party has ruined California for countless millions, men and women who just want to live their lives and place a posterity for their children and grand-children.

Gavin Newsom is a thoughtful leader who cares about the future of California, but as a longtime officeholder he has deep connections to many of the interest groups and politicians that have been part of the problem. That’s evident from Newsom’s careful two-step on both sides of major issues.

Yes. Gruesome Newsom is a hideous liar and philanderer. He never met another man's wife without making perverse moves on him. It is beyond shameful what he has done in private as well as in public. He has neither respect nor regard for the rule of law or the rights of citizens to make wise decisions for the citizenry. San Francisco has turned into a complete sh*thole, with homeless transients fighting each other, graffiti and trash all over the streets, and lawless thugs attack innocent passers-by. The business climate is beyond abysmal, and the housing costs are unreal.

No decent working person can afford to live in San Francisco, or anywhere in the Bay Are vicinity. It's unreal!

And now Gavin Newsom wants to ruin the entire state of California, too?

For example, during a debate in May, Newsom stated his position on high-speed rail as: “I’ve long supported the vision, but I’ve been honest about the financing.” He expressed a similar ambiguity on single-payer health care, Senate Bill 562, telling supporters “it’s time to move” the legislation while acknowledging to reporters that the details of how to pay for the proposal remain unresolved.

Gavin Newsom has no integrity, no ideas, no interest in doing what is best for the state of California. He only cares about his vapid political ambitions. Nothing more. He is a selfish progressive troll more interested in scoring points and other men's wives.

Please, California, we can do better than Cox!

That yes-and-no approach may encourage interest groups to write checks to the Newsom campaign in the hope that the wind will shift in their direction. But it leaves voters with no idea what the policies of his administration would be, or how much they will cost.

Actually, we can know what the cost will be. Gavin Newsom promised to sign an executive order which would give taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal aliens. He said that. He doesn't just want single-payer, he wants to hand out all the goodies to illegal aliens, full-on lawbreakers who are destroying our state and want to destroy the country.

This man is a thoughtless, lawless thug who has no business serving in any public capacity.

A government dominated by one party lacks the necessary checks and balances to ensure that policies are fully vetted before they become law. In California, that has too often led to reckless increases in spending, especially on pensions for government workers, creating endless pressure for tax increases at both the state and local level.

We need Republicans, real Republicans in Sacramento. No RINOs, no hacks, no "hell-no" politicos out for themselves and looking at some easy sinecure on a County Board of Supervisors when they leave Sacramento.

We need representatives who will care for the needs, the concerns of American citizens.

For perspective, in the time since Newsom was elected lieutenant governor, from 2011-12 to the current fiscal year, state general fund spending has ballooned over 61 percent from $86 billion to nearly $139 billion.

We spend too much money. Thank you, Demo-rats. We need more than balance, however. We need restoration of the rule of law, of natural rights, of individual liberty along with checks and balances in the better interests of the citizens, not illegal aliens, not special interests, not corrupt union bosses.

California needs steady economic growth and high-wage jobs to bring in the revenue required to pay its bills and build its future. That can’t be achieved with unsustainable government spending and even higher taxes. It certainly can’t be achieved if businesses are driven into the ground or out of the state by over-regulation, increased costs and uncertainty about future policies.

I wish that the local and statewide press would spend more time focusing on the unprecedented assault on our rights. I wish that elected officials would remember their oath of office to the United States Constitution and the California State Constitution. When will our elected officials remember that they work for us, not the other way around?

We can make them remember. We can start holding these elected frauds accountable and make them respond to our concerns once again. No more of this barren, brazen, broken-down disregard for the rule of law. Enough is enough.

Recent polls indicate that the race for governor has tightened and both sides say turnout will be key. Infrequent voters may come out to cast ballots for Proposition 6 to repeal the gas tax increase, and that would help Cox, who chaired the effort to qualify the measure and signed the ballot argument in support of it.

Let's face it. Part of the reason why we see the press groups favoring Republicans is that they see these candidates with more than a bare chance of winning.

Newsom might be helped by a surge of progressive Democrats who are hungry to seize control of the state party from established Democratic leaders like Sen. Dianne Feinstein.

Dianne Feinstein is a disgrace like Kevin De Leon. They are both unrepentant left-wing frauds who spend money that they do not have, and they are actively undermining our lives and livelihoods as Americans. California is still very much America, folks, and we the people are actively proving these facts. The Democratic Party thought they could get away with running our state into the ground. They have brazenly defied federal law. They want us to pay for the entire world to overrun our borders. They put illegal aliens, welfare recipients, and felons ahead of law-abiding citizens and their families. All of this is wrong, and we cannot tolerate this abuse of power any longer.

All of this must cease, and everyone Californian needs to wake up and take a firm stand against all of this abuse and failure. We need to vote for John Cox, we need to Make California Great Again, and we need to ensure that the rule of law is restored, and our natural rights respected once again.

One growing group won’t be casting ballots. They’re the former California residents who will vote this year in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and other states where the cost of living in California no longer troubles them.

I refuse to leave. I will fight to the end, and we need John Cox in the Governor's mansion to help with our fight.

John Cox offers common-sense leadership that will encourage economic growth, expand housing opportunities and reverse the state’s affordability crisis. He has our endorsement for governor.

John Cox for Governor: Repeal the Gas Tax, Vote Yes on Prop 6

YES ON PROP 6:
REPEAL THE UNFAIR GAS TAX
Arthur –

Here's the deal: The politicians in Sacramento raised your gas taxes by $52 billion without your approval to try and cover up their complete mismanagement of our state budget and our infrastructure.

We cannot reward the politicians for their repeated failures, and we cannot allow them to tax Californians every time they screw up!

This is why I need you to join me right now to help pass Prop 6 and REPEAL THE GAS TAX. Though we're ahead in the polls, our campaign is running low on funds – can you contribute $10 or more right now?

California families simply can't afford this tax – it's costing some thousands more per year. Yet, Jerry Brown and his special interest allies are spending millions to stop us from repealing it. And this is why we need your support.

This is the ONLY chance we have to repeal this gas tax. If we fail in November, we will likely be be stuck with this tax for 10 years.

I need you to go all in now and give whatever you can to help us pass Prop 6 and repeal the gas tax so you won't be stuck paying thousands that you can't afford.

Whether you can give $1, $10, $100 or even more, every dime gives us a better chance of winning.

The election is just over 2 months away – please give whatever you can to help us repeal the gas tax for good!

Sincerely,

John Cox

President, TLRA: RPLAC Issued a "CYA Memo"

Claude Todoroff of the Torrance-Lomita Republican Assembly issued the following rebuke to RPLAC Treasurer Gary SCAM-inoff:

Gary,

In the business world we call what LACGOP is doing is a CYA memo. All that LACGOP will do this November is set us up for more defeats. You guys have lost so often that it has become your status quo. BTW did you notice in the clip from the radio show that Carl also mentioned that LACGOP was AWOL when the Repeal the Gas Tax drive was going onYou can't do a CYA memo for that.

When will BCR get their charter back? If you guys at LACGOP wanted to heal that wound you would show up at their next meeting and give it back to them without BCR having to reapply and all that other crap.

RINO Chairman
Richard Sherman

I hear that LACGOP was not happy that the Torrance clubs did precinct walking in the primary for our Torrance city council candidates instead of for Scotto or Dr. Ken Wright. The real races were at the city level since it was obvious to the clubs that Scotto and Dr. Wright would advance. I guess youguys weren't too concerned about Omar Navarro since you put all your support on that loser Edwin Duterte who burned bridges faster than he could built new ones. BTW we won 2 out of the 4 races. That's a lot better than LACGOP did in Nov. 2016 but I guess that was all Trump's fault and not the weak candidates who threw candidate Trump under the bus and caused the base not to vote for your little darlings. Now one of those failed candidates who threw candidate Trump under the bus in early July 2016 wants to be state chairman. God help us.

If that happens I will join the DTS faction too. The base wants candidates who wrap their arms around our president and not RINOs who will throw our president under the bus again in 2020. You need to tell the anti-Trumpers to get in the back of the bus and STFU. Trump knows how to win and the anti-Trumpers will only teach you what LACGOP has been doing for decades ie. how to LOSE.

Let me suggest that in order to reverse your Yes on 6 PR disaster that Mr. Sherman get on the radio show this Friday and let him discuss things with Carl. How much of a communication error could there have been when Yes on 6 was told to get their stuff out of your Encino offices? When did the LACGOP decide to junk the long standing GOP platform of lower taxes and less government? Was it the same time you flushed "family values" down the RINO toilet? When you start looking and behaving like Democrats you don't give your base a reason to support the GOP candidates. Start standing for our principles again like Pres. Trump has then you might start giving the Democrats a run for their money again. Does LACGOP really want to see Al Murasutchi (Christians need to evolve in their believes) or Ted Lieu (assign a shrink 24/7 to the WH to make sure the president doesn't go off his rocker) or Maxine Waters (impeach 45) being re-elected for another 2 year term? Maybe LACGOP should read the Art of the Deal and you could learn to be winners again like we were in the 60s and 70s. Instead it seems you are all reading "What Happened" the blame book by crooked Hillary.

Claude

Claude Todoroff doesn't mince words.

Maybe he should be the next Republican Party of Los Angeles County Chairman!

It's Official: Ling-Ling Chang Sworn in as 14th California State Senator

The media have gone to every length to shut down or cover up this story. The recall of Josh Newman was another political earthquake in California's political history. The last time a sitting state senator was recalled took place more than a century ago!

This is big, but the local and statewide liberal media don't want to talk about it.

So, let's fill in the gaps and do what they should but refuse to do!

Congratulations, Ling Ling Chang!

Recall Wins! No More Josh Newman (Photos)

I just had to celebrate last night!

What an epic victory for the state of California and for overburdened taxpayers.

The gas tax has pushed up the costs so high, that in some parts of the state residents are paying $5.000 a gallon!

It's unreal!

Bye-Bye, Josh Newman!

Gas Tax Repeal Campaign Celebrates Victory in Recall of Sen. Josh Newman
Politician Who Cast Deciding Vote for Gas Tax Hike is Recalled from Office

Sacramento politicians who supported the car and gas tax hikes should be asking themselves a simple question right now: “Am I next!?”

In an historic result, State Senator Josh Newman has become the SIXTH state politician in over 105 years to be Recalled from his office. The success of the Recall against Newman came despite Sacramento politicians and special interests spending more than $6 million against the Recall.

Carl DeMaio, Chairman of Reform California and one of the lead sponsors of the Recall Initiative against Josh Newman offers the following statement:

“Make no mistake about it: State Senator Josh Newman’s political career is over because he supported the car and gas tax hikes. No amount of special interest money could save Josh Newman because voter anger over the gas and car tax hikes is so intense.

Recalling Josh Newman from the State Legislature was only the first phase of our campaign. This November we look forward to repealing the car and gas tax hikes – and defeating more Sacramento politicians who backed these costly taxes that are fraudulently diverted from road repairs.

For Sacramento politicians my message is simple: you have gone too far and now you will pay the price at the ballot box.

For the California taxpayers who are struggling with high taxes my message is equally simple: Help is on the way!  Please join our grassroots revolt at www.GasTaxRepeal.org”

Reform California and a coalition of taxpayer groups recently submitted nearly 1 million signatures to force the Gas Tax Repeal Initiative on the November 2018 ballot and polls suggest the initiative will be the defining issue this election cycle in California.

Media availability – Dave McCulloch / mcculloch@capitolmediapartners.com

Facts about this massive hike:

-On Nov 1, 2017, Californians became subject to an additional tax of 12.5 cents more per gallon (20 cents more for diesel)

-Estimates suggest it will cost $700 or more per family, per year

–The tax also hits business owners who rely on transporting goods, raising the cost of everything from apples to Zinfindel

-Auto registration fees will increase as much as $175 a year - striking the wallets of hard-working families across the state

-The tax revenue goes into the state's General Fund, meaning there's zero guarantee the money will be used to actually fund the transportation "fixes" they claim will happen

-Nearly 1 million signatures were collected to qualify the measure on the November ballot; just over 550,000 were required

De Maio Gas Tax Repeal a Go (But They Need More Dough!)

Friend-

Because you have been amazingly supportive of the gas tax repeal initiative, I want to update you on the results of our first full week of signature gathering in the campaign.

The OUTSTANDING news is we are being flooded with signed petitions. Nearly 100,000 in the first week alone! (This may be a statewide record!) But this is also bad news on another level.

This avalanche of petitions has strained our campaign budget for collection, validation, and fulfillment mailings. Without immediate funding we may have to suspend portions of our efforts and with this momentum we absolutely do NOT want that to happen.

We are in urgent need of funding so we can keep up this pace. Can you contribute ANYTHING today to help us keep posting these numbers to repeal the gas tax? Here’s the secure link.

Without immediate funding we may have to suspend portions of our efforts and with this momentum we absolutely do NOT want that to happen.

The Sacramento politicians are SHOCKED at our success in our first week on the Gas Tax Repeal. This campaign is the start of our rebellion against their terrible policies and high taxes. Will you please help us keep this success going with a small contribution today? Thanks!

Carl DeMaio

Chairman, Reform California – Repeal the Gas Tax Initiative

PS: We need to get to over 500k signatures – and this pace is AMAZING. But we need the funding to keep up. Please contribute what you can today!

More Winning: California Majority Want Gas Tax Repealed

From the Desk of Carl DeMaio, who is leading a vocal and effective repeal to the Gas Tax"

Friend-

Following up from my email yesterday, I really have to stress that we only have two weeks left to reach our funding target so we can commence signature gathering Nov 27 to repeal the Gas Tax in California.

Is there anything you can do today? We are running out of time – please do what you can asap!

Here's the secure contribution link

Thanks,

Subject: Gas Tax Repeal Wins - but one catch
Date: Monday, November 13, 2017

Friend-

Great news! The Los Angeles Times just reported a new statewide poll showing an overwhelming majority of California voters think the gas tax should be repealed!

There's just one catch: we have to collect the 500k signatures to force this issue on the ballot.  We kick off signature collection Nov 27 – just TWO WEEKS from today!

We are two-thirds the way to getting our funds we need to launch the petition drive.  Can you contribute anything today?  We really want to raise the funds *this week* because we know next week will be tough with Thanksgiving and all.

Please, please do what you can today! This poll shows what we know: If we get this on the ballot, the gas tax hike will be repealed!

All we need is the funding in place asap!  Only two weeks to go!

Carl DeMaio

Travis Allen for Governor: Repeal the Gas Tax!

UPDATE ON SIGNATURE PACKETS

In our last update, we informed you that after we won in Superior court, Jerry Brown's hand-picked Attorney General Xavier Becerra appealed the Judge's decision in a desperate last-ditch attempt to trick voters and save Sacramento’s $52 Billion special interest payday.

We are now in Appeals court with the Attorney General and are seeking a quick response to this meritless appeal in order to have a final ruling within a few weeks. We are hopeful that you will receive your signature packets by the end of this month. We will keep you updated on the Appeal and will also send you an email when packets are mailed.

Then the hard work begins. We will have 180 days from the issuance of the official title and summary to collect the 365,880 signatures needed to place the Repeal on the November 2018 ballot and stop the gas tax which just took effect on November 1st.

Although Xavier Becerra is attempting to stall the Gas Tax Repeal in court, we are confident that we will once again prevail. This is yet another example of how Jerry Brown and his political allies will stop at nothing to deceive voters and raise your taxes.

As you know, Court battles are expensive and we need your help to make sure our legal bills are covered! If you can make a small donation of $100, $75, $50, $25 or of any size please click on this link.

We look forward to keeping you updated on our progress and thank you for your support in helping to fight this massive tax. Please go to our website for up to the minute updates and additional information atwww.NoCAGasTax.com.

Thank you for joining me in the fight!

Assemblyman Travis Allen
In Case You Missed It: Travis Allen
Speaks Out Against Gas Tax

Feel the spike in California gas prices. Coincides with introduction of undetectably cheaper "winter blend"
San Diego reader / Nov 2
The spike in gas prices on November 1st should have been no surprise to motorists. The increase comes from the state legislature’s 12-cent-per-gallon gas tax passed on April 28. The tax also raised diesel prices 20 cents per gallon and adds up to $150 in additional DMV fees to annual vehicle registration.

Gas prices go up as new tax takes effect; Fong critical of tax, noting it will hit residents hard
Taft Midway Driller / Nov 2
Fong advocated the gas tax will hit Californians hard. “We should not make California even more unaffordable for hardworking families to live and work here. I introduced a prudent and responsible transportation plan that would fully fund our road infrastructure without raising any taxes. The main principle of the plan required all transportation dollars to actually go to transportation projects—this is common sense,” said Assemblyman Fong.

California Fuel Taxes Rise Wednesday
Jefferson Public Radio / Nov 2
Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon’s office says the 12-cent-per-gallon gas tax hike was timed to take effect as California gas stations begin shifting from a pricier summer blend of gasoline to a cheaper winter blend – the goal being to smooth the transition for consumers as much as possible, as a politically unpopular tax takes effect.

California Gas Tax Increases 12 Cents per Gallon Effective Nov. 1
USA Herald / Nov 2
Assemblyman Allen is leading a ballot initiative to repeal the California gas tax. In September, Sacramento Superior Court Judge Timothy Frawley changed the description of the ballot initiative to repeal the gas tax legislation.

New California gas tax takes effect
Cal Coast Times / Nov 1
California’s controversial gas tax increase took effect Wednesday, raising the base tax on gasoline 12 cents from 18 cents per gallon to 30 cents per gallon.

California gas tax increase takes effect
Tahoe Daily Tribune (Associated Press) / Nov 1
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California gas prices are about to go up. Gasoline taxes rise by 12 cents per gallon Wednesday, Nov. 1, to raise money for fixing roads and highways. It's the first of several tax and fee hikes that will take effect after lawmakers approved them this year. Diesel taxes will go up by 20 cents a gallon, and diesel sales taxes will rise by 4 points to 13 percent.

California's new gas taxes go into effect
CBS8 San Diego / Oct 31
Assemblyman Travis Allen, a Huntington Beach Republican who has made opposition to the gas tax a centerpiece of his campaign for governor, said the money won't widen or extend freeways to relieve traffic. "Californians will still be stuck in the worst-in-the-nation traffic. We'll just be paying a lot more for it," Allen said.

Judge rewrites summary of proposed gas tax repeal initiative, saying it was 'fundamentally flawed'
LA Times/ OCT. 25
A judge on Monday rewrote the title and summary for a proposed initiative that would repeal recent gas tax increases in California. He rejected a title and summary written by the state attorney general's office as "fundamentally flawed."

Judicial Victory for California Gas Tax Repeal
Canada Free Press / Sep 26
California Republican Assemblyman Travis Allen is a minority voice in the wilderness of liberal left Democrat Party domination. California’s Democrats have gone into full socialism and “kill-the-golden-goose” mode since regaining a supermajority in California’s State Legislature that essentially has rendered the Republican opposition moot and unable to stop any of the madness the Democrats have planned for the once golden State of California. State Senate Bill Number 1 (S.B. 1) signed by Governor Jerry Brown on April 28, 2017, and filed with the Secretary of State on the same day, launched an assault of crushing taxation upon the residents of California that had also been tried in 2003, but led to there call of Governor Gray Davis.

California’s November 1 Gas Tax Increase: Just the Beginning
Breitbart / Oct 30
Californians are bracing for the first phase of the SB-1 gas tax and vehicle registration hikes, which could help boost prices by up to 29 cents per gallon over the next 32 months.

California's gas tax increases Wednesday, and the political fallout is likely to spill over into 2018 elections
LA Times / Oct 31
A state gas tax increase of 12 cents per gallon kicks in Wednesday, and while the immediate impact will mean less money in motorists’ wallets, the long-term political fallout could roll into next year, when the higher levies are expected to be an issue in elections across California.

Pump bump: California drivers to pay 12 cents more per gallon starting Wednesday
The Mercury News / Oct 31
OAKLAND — Beginning Wednesday, drivers across California can expect to pay an extra 12 cents per gallon for gasoline at the pump, and an extra 20 cents per gallon for diesel.
