Congratulations, Endorsed City Council Candidates

No, the Torrance City Council elections did not go the way that I wanted them too.

Still, in spite of the outcome, the candidates have many good prospects to look forward to, in spite of the results.

Alex See
If there is one businessman who is undeterred by the hostile business climate in California, that would be Alex See.

I went to his election wrap-up party at his restaurant King Shabu Shabu.

He plans on opening two more restaurants, one in Redondo Beach and another in Cerritos.

I wish him the best.

That kind of optimistic work ethic demonstrates that you can thrive no matter how bad the circumstances.

Clint Paulson is helping charities in the South Bay.

He told me that one charity was glad for the positive publicity I offered on my blog.

So glad that I could write about something positive.

Aurelio Mattucci

Aurelio Mattucci has his real estate business, and he can prosper his small business initiative if he wants to. No matter how bad the government, there is not stopping an industrious man doing what he can for his family and his city.

Gina Semana

Gina Semana will still have her job with the City Clerk's office. I hope that this election gave her the opportunity to hear the frustrations of city residents.

Congratulations, everyone! You are still winners, even if you lost the Torrance City election!

  2. The last laugh, Arthur? That's funny because the joke's on you!

  3. Hi Arthur. This is Clint. I wanted to thank you for the election coverage you provided as well as the informative blog you work so hard to maintain. You provided a lot of information here that no other local news medium was able to offer. You should be commended for providing people another avenue to gain information. Of course we know you are biased. That's okay. It's your blog. I don't always agree with your slant, but at least you don't pretend to be unbiased like the Daily Breeze. Frankly, I saw more inaccuracies and outright falsehoods in the Daily Breeze reporting of the election than I did in the articles that I read on your site. That's saying something. Best of luck to you going forward.

    1. Thanks, Clint! Please keep me posted about the charities you are working with. Any plans for keeping the current city council accountable? I have learned that while it is good to get the right people elected, it is even better when you can get the wrong people to do the right things.

  5. Earl, I used to comment on Schaper's garbage on Patch, but it just caused others to reply and before long, it looked like Schaper had actual followers. He doesn't, really; it's his detractors who attract attention, and it's self-perpetuating. I notice that his last couple of posts attract no one (except his own click of recommendation!) Ignore him and watch his traffic twindle to that racist CPA from Torrance, some crazy chick and his dad. Just watch...

  6. Great idea--I travel constantly and am in airports all the time, hence time to kill, and Schapers to mess with. This crazy blogger is nutty and just so damn fun to toy with!

    1. Earl: You live in an airport? No wonder you are struggling. I had no idea that you were going through hard times.

    2. Son, your wit is as weak as your writing. Successful people fly a lot, Arthur; scabs like you get fired from their teaching job and drive around Torrance. See how that works?

    3. Oh Earl, you are " just so damn fun to toy with!" You keep setting, and I keep spiking. Thanks again!

    4. Arthur, you are way out of your league, son. Clean up in aisle 5, OK?

  7. HAHAHHHAHAHAHHAAH Not one of your candidates won! HILARIOUS. You are a loser, and now the voters have wrapped your candidates up in your big loser gift bag.

Next time you want candidates to win, you should probably publicly endorse their opponents.

    Get a job...
