Daily Breeze Slams Crooked, Lying Al Muratsuchi for "Trump-Hadley" Deception

The Daily Breeze should be greatly, widely applauded for their editorial slamming Al Muratsuchi for his empty, abortive, and fraudulent "Trump Hadley" signs posted throughout the South Bay.

That media stunt played out very badly for Muratsuchi, who ended up losing more support across the district, particularly among Democrats and liberal-leaning independents.

POSTED: 10/28/16, 9:50 AM PDT | 4 COMMENTS
Two years ago, David Hadley pulled off the upset and unseated Democratic Assemblyman Al Muratsuchi in a race to represent the 66th Assembly District, which includes Gardena, Redondo Beach and Torrance.

Please do not forget Lomita, Harbor City, and Palos Verdes!

In the time since, Hadley, a Republican, has served the district well. A fiscal conservative who has worked on bipartisan efforts to enhance transparency in education and reform the abusive practice of asset forfeiture, Hadley has also made clear his preference for keeping government out of the private lives of individuals.

Isn't it nice to know that as assembly is representing a district "well" according to the reports of the local press?

That kind of praise is all too rare, especially since California has turned into a one-party Democratic state where special interests and perverse policies hold sway against the best interests of all Californians.

Yet Muratsuchi, who’s running to unseat Hadley on Nov. 8, would like voters in the district to think Hadley is someone he isn’t. “Hadley Trump” signs have popped up throughout the district, paid for by the Muratsuchi campaign in a specious attempt to draw connections where there are none.

This was one of the stupidest campaign stunts.

How many times does David Hadley have to explain to voters that he is not voting for Trump, and does not support him?

He wrote a full-blast editorial about this matter. He lost some support from key Republicans, but he has more than made up for this concern by explaining to individual  voters directly his reasons.

And you know what? He has done a great job in the state legislature, that his decision not to vote for Trump is a small matter.

For political candidates, tying an opponent to their party’s presidential candidate is nothing new. But such a strategy has merit only if the opponent actually shares the vision of his party’s presidential contender, be it Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

Reminder: Al Muratsuchi is a vocal, virulent supporter of Hillary Clinton.

When she isn't hacking and spewing, she is running away from the FBI, the CIA, and every major newspaper reporter looking for facts and information--howbeit far and in between good journalists may be

In this case, the Muratsuchi campaign is engaging in a purely superficial campaign that says more about Muratsuchi than it does Hadley.

Yes indeed. I could not have written it better.

Muratsuchi is obsessed with the national conference.

Most people have given up worrying about that race. Hard-core Republicans who participate in every volunteer operation imaginable are not that caught up in the Presidential race.

They will vote for Donald Trump, but the long-term successes and implications of a Hadley victory mean so much more to California Republicans, including this one.

I want Hadley to win most of all - and Trump's victory, while important, is a close second in importance for me.

“My opponent Al Muratsuchi doesn’t want to run against David Hadley,” Hadley said in a statement. “He wants to run against Donald Trump. Since I do not support Mr. Trump and never have, he has had to resort to desperate and dishonest election tactics to try to make the connection.”

Al Muratsuchi is either lazy, uninformed, or is surrounded by weak advisors.

Did they really think that they could play the Trump card for five months and win?

South Bay residents want solutions. They want results. They want a plan.

David Hadley has already outlined his agenda.

Better schools, better jobs, preserve the South Bat quality of life, and bring balance to this one-party state.

Even the hadleytrump.com website put up by the Muratsuchi campaign is embarrassingly light on information actually linking Hadley to Trump. That’s because, beyond both being Republicans, there isn’t a serious connection.

It's not serious. It's uite laughable and sad.

Just two weeks away, Easy Reader News exposed the Muratsuchi campaign's disturbing and invasive trackers, who have followed David Hadley and his family--even from home--to try and catch him in a mistake or off-guard.

The website is a total dud, by the way, since no one really visits it, and few people have actually watched any of the videos.

I have a very small following on YouTube, and my videos have gotten more views!

“Why won’t David Hadley vote against Donald Trump?” asks the website.

Turns out, Hadley hasn’t voted for Trump. “I will repeat one more time: I have never supported Donald Trump, I did not vote for him in the primary and I will not be voting for him in the general election,” Hadley said.

Question answered. Next issue?

Voters would be better served if Muratsuchi emphasized his contrasts with Hadley. But perhaps Muratsuchi realizes voters in the district already got a sense of that last time and voted him out for just that reason.

Bam!

What a perfection summation of the sad, defeated Muratsuchi campaign!

The Daily Breeze has made some good decisions, including their endorsement for David Hadley for State Assembly.

Lest I forget - they are endorsing him for RE-election!

Don't Believe Crooked Al's Sleazy Deceit

Al Muratsuchi is touting Governor Jerry Brown's support.

The same governor who vetoed his terrible, misguided, impious AB 375, which would have made it harder--much harder--to get rid of pervert teachers.

Muratsuchi loves to kick around this "endorsement" from the head of the Torrance Police Officers' Association.

This person is a union leader.

He does not speak for all police officers.

In fact, he is probably losing police support every day, as long as he keeps up this campaign of fraud and deceit.

But there's more on this flyer that exposes Al's deception:

Ask the parents in Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and even Torrance.

Those school districts are getting less money compared to other districts in the state.

Torrance may get their 2007 funding levels back in a year or two.

For Torrance Unified, though, 2007 funding was still not enough.

By the way, Julie Shankle was the President of the Torrance Teachers Association, aka the union leader.

She has been a blind cheerleader for Oil Muratsuchi from Day One.

Then there's the strange case of Stacey Armato.

She actually claims that Muratsuchi stood up to Big Oil.

Her man is taking dirty, greasy, grimy cash from the oil companies:

The only reason why Stacey Armato is supporting Oil Muratsuchi is that the Big Green bullies pushing her around demand that she support Muratsuchi.

David Hadley was not involved for or against Measure O. Muratsuchi pushed a hollow stunt to make it seem that he cared, then pulled the legislation when he knew that it would never pass. How could Democrats in the Central Valley go back to their constituents and explain to them that they voted for an emergency, no-interest loan for the wealthy South Bay city of Hermosa Beach?

David Hadley got more legislation of consequence passed than his predecessor!

This is the biggest whopper yet.

Muratsuchi voted for ACA 8, which would gut Prop 13!

Give me a break!

Al Muratsuchi is nothing but lies and deceit.

Just say no to Crooked Al!

Vote for David Hadley on November 8th!

Assemblyman Hadley Exposes Crooked Al Muratsuchi's Desperate Lies

Crooked Al Muratsuchi is the epitome of Democratic desperation and corruption.

He has issued every perverted, fraudulent mailer once can imagine.

Al might announce to the South Bay public that David Hadley hates kittens and beats puppies.

Hadley released the following press release to correct the Muratsuchi Lies for good:

"There you go again!"

David Hadley Responds to Baseless Muratsuchi Attacks

Professional politicians have a saying: "If you're explaining, you're losing." Their thinking is that it's better to focus on your own message than to play defense by responding to attacks.

I think more elected officials should not be afraid to explain the truth to the voters, particularly when they are running against a desperate fraud like Al Muratsuchi.

That may be so, but I'm not a professional politician, I'm a citizen legislator. Our grassroots South Bay movement is not politics as usual - so many of you are my friends, neighbors, fellow Ed Foundation or AYSO parents, etc. It is important to me that you know the truth, either for your own peace of mind or so you can respond to your neighbors' concerns.

I apologize for the long email, but its length reflects the smear campaign my opponent, Al Muratsuchi, is running against me.

Allegations related to my business career
Allegation #1: "Violated money laundering rules"
Allegation #2: "Busted for illegal trading"
Allegation #3: "Hadley has a long record of breaking the law to benefit himself"

Verdict: Allegation #2 and Allegation #3 are completely false,Allegation #1 is so exaggerated as to be false.

Reality: I founded my business ("HPi") in 1999 and ran it full-time until I was elected to the Assembly. HPi was licensed, regulated and audited.

Here's the logo for the business:

I am incredibly proud not only of the professional success of HPi, but of the legal and ethical way we did business. HPi advised over 100 companies and generated well over $10 million in firm revenue during this period, and some of our clients created thousands of new jobs.  Neither HPi nor I have ever been sued, threatened with legal action or accused of harming clients, investors or employees.

Great work, David!

In HPi's entire history, our regulators found two bookkeeping errors over 10 years ago. First, in 2003, HPi arranged an investment by a Connecticut-based firm without realizing that Connecticut did not accept our national license. We applied for (and received) a Connecticut license after the fact and paid a small fine for our mistake. By the way, the investor made 4x their money and the company created hundreds of jobs with that investment!

They helped create a children's book!

Second, in 2005 during a routine audit, our regulators determined that HPi's money-laundering compliance practices had not kept pace with the new requirements that Congress passed after 9/11 (the USA PATRIOT Act). We upgraded our practices, paid a small penalty and were never again cited.

No money laundering took place or was alleged.

Crooked Al! Shame on Muratsuchi!

That's it. 15 years of successful business and a total of $8,500 in fines. I'm proud of my business career and ethical practices, and my opponent's attacks are false.

Big Government looks for any way possible to nickle and dime small businesses.

That's why we need a businessman--not a life-long political creature--in the state capitol.

Accusations related to campaign finance

Allegation #4: "Caught laundering $40,000 in illegal campaign contributions"

Verdict: We made an honest mistake and corrected it immediately.

Reality: Under California law political candidates are allowed to accept unlimited contributions from party committees. Al Muratsuchi is a champion of taking money from his party bosses - he has accepted over $1.8 million from party committees all over the state in just the last six weeks. That is how he pays to stuff your mailbox full of attack ads.

In 2014, my campaign accepted a $45,000 contribution from a party committee for the 66th Assembly District. My treasurer informed me the contribution was legal, so my campaign accepted it. After being served with a complaint, we learned that the state legal definition of "party committee" does not include Assembly District party committees, so we promptly returned $40,900 of the total to comply with contribution limits. The California Fair Political Practices Commission noted in our settlement that we accepted this contribution "without intent to deceive." When I make a mistake, I own it and I correct it.

Don't we need more people like that?

Allegation #5: "Currently under investigation - again"

Verdict: Yes, my 2016 campaign is under investigation again - because Al Muratsuchi filed a false and baseless complaint!

Wow! No kidding?! (*sarcasm)

Crooked Al is the king of baseless complaints. Why? Because his campaign is baseless!

These accusations are false and will be shown to be false in the course of the investigation. But Muratsuchi has already gotten what he wanted; a headline about my campaign being investigated.

Allegation #6: "Hadley took the oil companies' money and then did their bidding"

Verdict: The most dishonest of all of Muratsuchi's campaign finance allegations.

Yes.

Reality: I have raised more money from individual donors who live in the district I represent than any other legislator or legislative candidate anywhere in the state. My opponent's campaign is entirely dependent on the California Democratic Party.

That's right, and let's not forget that all of that money comes from special interests, including the very oil companies which Crooked Al claims to despise:

Oil and energy companies account for about 2% of the funds I have raised in this campaign. I have received well over ten times as much financial support from South Bay residents as I have from energy companies. So even if you accept Muratsuchi's slander that my vote is for sale (it is not), I am proud to say that South Bay residents have greatly outbid any interest group for that vote!

I am one of his bidders!

I have been a strong vote on environmental issues. I was one of only two Republicans in the legislature to vote to increase renewable energy to 50% of the state's electricity by 2030. I will continue to oppose offshore oil-drilling. I am committed to ensuring that the Torrance refinery is operated safely and transitions away from hydrofluoric acid and MHF. I will continue to be the voice of the South Bay, not the tool of any interest group.

Fine with me. By the way, his vote for SB 350 came with clear concessions from the regressive, Big Green Left.

Al Muratsuchi is the candidate in this race who is engaged in (legal) money laundering. He self-righteously proclaims that he does not accept oil company contributions. But he has accepted well over $1.8 million from committees that have received over $1 million from oil companies. This is the very definition of money laundering - concealing the true origins of money by transferring that money through intermediate entities.

A few particularly egregious falsehoods about my legislative record

Allegation #7: "David Hadley voted to cut $101 billion from California public schools"

Verdict: Laughably false.

Reality: I voted against the overall budget bill, because I do not support many of the misguided priorities of the majority in the legislature - just to pick one of many examples, spending money on high speed rail. But under California's constitution (Proposition 98, passed in 1988), public education receives a guaranteed portion of the state's general fund revenue. I voted in favor of the "budget trailer" bill that determines how those education funds will be spent and that bill included increasing education funds for our South Bay public schools.

Right on.

Democrats use this misleading tactic all the time against prudent legislators.

The budget is a composite whole, riddled with bad spending and misplaced priorities. There is no way to vote for parts of the budget and against other parts.

Either you vote for the whole thing, or you do not.

I want an assemblyman who won't get along to go along.

I want an assemblyman with an A rating from the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association who will protect Prop 13 and allow me to keep as much of my hard-earned cash as possible.

Allegation #8: "David Hadley is anti-choice."

Verdict: False. The following has been on www.DavidHadley.com since early 2014: "David Hadley believes - as a matter of law - that women and couples have the right to make their own decisions about pregnancies. He is personally opposed to abortion as birth control, he'll vote against partial birth abortion and he favors parental notification because state law should strengthen the family unit."

This is how I have voted in the Assembly.

We should also extend credit where credit is due.

He voted against a law forcing pregnancy centers to inform patients how to get an abortion.

He has an F from Planned Murderhood, too.

Let's face it. Crooked Al is anti-life. Case Closed.

Conclusion

It is easy to tell a lie or distort the truth. It is particularly easy when you have seemingly unlimited funds to do so.

Truth overcomes lies every time!

I remain what I have been since I introduced myself to the South Bay - a man of integrity trying to bring common sense to Sacramento as your voice. My track record in Sacramento is one of balance.

And the Daily Breeze agrees!

Please forward this email to your concerned friends and neighbors.

Sincerely,
David

Assemblyman David Hadley represents the 66th Assembly District, which includes the South Bay communities of Torrance, Gardena, Lomita, the Palos Verdes Peninsula, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, and portions of Los Angeles.

Redondo Beach Mayor Steve Aspel Endorses David Hadley, Exposes Al Muratsuchi's Desperate, Crooked Tricks

Redondo Beach Mayor Steve Aspel is an easy-going guy.

He is a Democrat, along with the rest of his family, but he is common-sense, invested in doing what is best for his city.

He stands up to labor unions.

He wants a good quality of life for his beach city community.

And he is open about his support and political affiliations.

If he supports a candidate, he will not back away.

He endorsed Muratsuchi in 2014.

This time, for Election 2016, he is crossing party lines (just as David Hadley has) and is endorsing the incumbent Republican!

Early on, in 2015, Aspel signaled that he was going to support  Hadley's re-election bid instead of backing FORMER Democratic Assemblyman Al Muratuschi.

It was already a risky move.

The Los Angeles County Democratic Party generally does not take well to the locally elected officials crossing over and supporting Republicans, especially one as well-connected and caring as Hadley.

The Democrats did not sit back and accept this decision.

They released a mailer which listed Aspel as one of Muratsuchi's endorsers.

In effect, the Muratsuchi campaign tried to force Aspel to dual endorse essentially, as if the political capital he would have to spend to renounce this tactic would be too great.

Right away, there was frustration among Hadley supporters.

What's going on?

On Sunday evening, October 23rd, 2016, Mayor Aspel cleared up all the confusion, affirmed that he was endorsing only one candidate, our Assemblyman David Hadley.

Check out his recorded remarks here:

It was comforting and encouraging that Aspel stood up to Al Muratuschi and his first dirty trick.

Then he exposed another dirty trick from Crooked Al.

He met with Muratsuchi earlier this month, and there were more whispers about what was supposedly going on.

Then Aspel announced something particularly disturbing.

For a little background ...

Aspel is running for mayor again next year. The election is in March, 2017.

Muratsuchi threatened Aspel: "If you do not endorse me, I will support your challenger, and I will throw a lot of Democratic money his way."

Aspel didn't budge, and did not care.

He is standing with a true representative who cares about the South Bay, not a hollow Democratic machine politician out for raw power at the expense of principle.

Thank you, Mayor Aspel, for standing your ground and standing on principle!

Crooked Al Muratsuchi Desperation: Hadley-Trump Fraud Posters

Now this is just sad.

Crooked Al Muratsuchi is sending out and putting up posters in the South Bay, which claim that David Hadley and Donald Trump are not just a ticket, but an item.

Can anyone of these abusive liberal Democrats read?

Have they not followed up on the editorial that David wrote in July?

He announced clearly that he would not be voting for Trump or Hillary Clinton!

Does Al Muratsuchi really think that South Bay voters are that stupid?

Now, over the past two days, the following posters started popping up throughout the district:

WOW!

So, had Hadley changed his mind? Is he now on the Trump train?

Uh, no ...

Let's take a closer look at this sign:

This sign is a sad advertisement drawing viewers to visit an ineffective website called HadleyTrump.com .

By the way -- no one is visiting the site or watching the petty videos. trying to shame Hadley.

Still, some questions have risen.

Calls have been coming into the Hadley camp asking about these signs.

But really, there is nothing to worry about. Hadley supporters stand by David and affirm that he is not voting for Donald Trump.

This petty attack may raise questions.

So, who is behind these trashy, false signs?

Let's take a closer look:

and
