To Hell With California? I Say "Hell No!" to That

Over the weekend, I was invited to attend and speak to the Patriots Movement Arizona MAGA Unity Rally in Phoenix, Arizona. Even though the capital of the Grand Canyon State is blue (same holds true for almost every capital in the country), Arizona is a red state, and it sure felt like one. Residents can open carry and concealed carry their firearms in most places. The gas is so much cheaper, as is the fast-food. Wherever I went, Trump supporters raved and rallied with us. Even in the capital, represented by two Congressional Democrats for the majority of the city, Trump supporters gave us thumbs-up and showed their support. The Arizona Patriots welcomed us freedom fighters with open arms.

At the rally, a number of guest speakers called out the rampant liberal lunacy throttling my home, the formerly Golden State of California. I heard one refrain a number of times: “Make California American Again.” I don’t like hearing that, and I reminded the audience at the rally (I was the last speaker) that our state has a large contingent of Trump-supporting pro-American patriots. Not only that, but the vast majority of residents are outraged with the rampant lawlessness defining the current political class—on both sides of the aisle.

To add insult to injury, I read Derek Hunter’s article “To Hell with California”. Really? I say “Hell no” to that. If elected officials had embraced the attitude of “Let erring sisters go in peace” during the (First?) American Civil War, the internecine destruction whstilich had assault federal law and endangered the public trust in 1860 would have continued after the Southern states seceded. Lawlessness must be countered, not ignored and accommodated.

Moreover, the Democratic Party has ruined California, but not Californians like me. Even if we can’t save our state (for the short-term), our fight is encouraging and galvanizing conservatives all over the country to fight back. Reminder: 4.5 million Californians voted for President Trump in Election 2016’s general election. Hillary Clinton won by a wider margin than Obama because of massive voter fraud. Proof? I have friends whose children have moved out of the house—and the state!—but the kids are still getting mail-in ballots! A San Pedro, CA apartment received 80 ballots in 2016. The LA County Registrar of Voters credited that to “an error” which would be corrected. Sure. The Election Integrity Projected sued the state over voter turnouts in 11 counties which exceeded the actual population of eligible voters. The official turnout registered 111% in Los Angeles County, but some estimates suggest as much as 140%! This is outrageous. We don’t have elections in California. We have Democratic dictatorship, folks, where the votes are not as important as the people and the political machines counting them.

The problem isn’t the state, but the Democrats along with the greedy rapacious public sector union lobby, the welfare queens, and let's not forget the illegal aliens who are over running, invading our state. Hunter has the wrong attitude about California, even if he was only kidding. Still, his biting hatred for the disgusting communism overrunning the state of California is not original with him. John Stossel suggested that California should secede, and at least three groups have sought to place a #Calexit initiative on the ballot. Two other initiatives want to create a “New California” or split the state up into three parts.

To all you cynics out there, California is worth fighting for, and President Trump is proving that. California was and still is the true heartbeat of the Trump movement. Before Trump had declared his candidacy, patriots lined up outside of Murrieta in 2014 and turned away the buses filled with illegal aliens. Breitbart News is based in California, which helped showcase the awful, unconscionable murder of Kate Steinle in sanctuary city San Francisco. Stephen Miller, the outspoken policy advisor on illegal immigration, comes from the People’s Republic of Santa Monica, and many of the conservative policy wonks making the case for protecting our borders and our culture learned from the best at Claremont-McKenna college … in California.

Let us also not forget that to this day, Californians have exposed treasonous DACA meetings hosted by our elected officials, and we have shut down lawless Attorney General Xavier Becerra three times. From 15 Californians who stood up against 25,000 George Soros puppets at LAX airport just 9 days after Trump’s inauguration, Californians across the state are now fighting back, reminding the country that we are Americans who love our country, but definitely do not trust our government. There are millions of citizens in California who are still Americans, regardless of their political affiliation.

Secession and derision are not the answer to wayward, communistic California. What is needed now more than ever is enforcement of all federal laws, including the immigration laws. Last year, I wrote that Attorney General Jeff Sessions needed to intervene in California. Finally, he and the rest of the federal government are starting to weigh in. AG Becerra’s unending lawsuits have been smacked down. One federal district court has upheld the Trump administration’s power to withhold federal grants to sanctuary state California. The lawsuits against the state are great, too. But we need arrests. We need Jeff Sessions to lock up Jerry Brown, Gavin Newsom, Xavier Becerra, and every other politician who puts illegals ahead of American citizens.

Following Attorney General Sessions’ announcement to sue California in federal court, I commented to the local news that we need more than just lawsuits. We also need the National Guard to step in. With Trump’s upcoming visit to the border wall, they just might have to. Either way, critics may chant that California is a lost cause turning into an irredeemable hell, but there are millions of angels within the Golden State already fighting back. We are going to go everywhere we can in our state and raise heaven!

It just gets worse for John Cox. This guy had opposed the wall, and now he's fully in support for the wall.

Did Cox really think he was going to get away with standing on two different sides of the wall?

Arthur! President Trump is in California today surveying the border with Mexico and reviewing prototypes for his proposed wall. Immigration always has been and always will be vital to the growth and strength of our nation, and I too believe that everyone who wants to come here must come through the front door -- legally. A wall protecting our border will help ensure that more immigrants to our nation go through the proper process, and I support it 100%. But, where does my opponent John Cox stand when it comes to the border wall? Who knows?! First, he tells Spanish language news media he opposes a border wall: "He also disagrees with the construction of a border wall . . ." - Univision, January 13, 2018 Then, a few days later, he says something else: We've seen this kind of flip-flopping before, and we won't fall for it. Californians deserve a Governor who knows what they believe and sticks to that belief -- no matter who they are talking to. I oppose the sanctuary state and I support enforcing our laws and protecting our borders and our citizens. And you will never hear me say otherwise.  I want more information as to how I can get involved if possible and I think what you do is awesome!  I’m American first/Mexican who loves this country and wants to fight these evil democrats that are destroying our country.  

I’ve been following politics since after 911, I follow talk radio and have read a few Mark Levin books and I’m self taught on American history so I’m no scholar but I know I can hold my own when debating a brain washed democrat especially one from Cali.

Monterey Press Media Arrogance: Republicans No longer Relevant in California?

The Santa Cruz-Monterey News Groups issued the following editorial three months ago:

Editorial, April 4, 2017: Republicans no longer relevant in California

After witnessing six months of Trump's winning policies, proposals, and orders working their way through the country--even into California--it's worth reflecting and perhaps rejecting these hollow attacks.

California is increasingly a one-party state.

The demise of the Republican party in the state has been advancing for years, but has now become an accepted fact. While this has also been the relativley [SIC] recent rule in Monterey County, the GOP continued to have an influence in state legislation and politics until the end of the governorship of Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2010.

But no more.

Prop 14 had a lot to do with it. I also recognize that the citizens redistricting commission threw the California GOP off guard. They didn't realize that many seats would end up being more competitive for Democrats, not just Republicans.

The recent report on voter registration in the state showed that Republicans hitting the truly endangered list with just under 26 percent of 19.4 million potential voters.

Yes, that is not good. How has the registration plummeted so rapidly?

Leadership and donorship has emphasized inclusion at the expense of principle.

The party had a nearly 35 percent share in 2000.

Democrats now have nearly 45 percent of potential voters, though the party actually lost about a half point since 2000. The biggest increase came from potential voters who declined to state a party preference — 24.5 percent, up from 14.4 percent in 2000.

Decline to state registration is exploding because the California Republican Party has not been taking a firmer stance on key issues.

This trend would amaze Californians from a generation ago, since Republicans once dominated the political landscape in California. The only two presidents coming from the state — Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan — were both Republicans. But no Republican has won the state’s presidential votes since George H.W. Bush in 1988. Except for Schwarzenegger, no Republican has held statewide office this century, and the former governor was something of an outlier as a politician because of his celebrity.

Two reasons why: illegal immigration.

Two more reasons why: voter fraud.

As for the argument that no Republican has held statewide office--they have forgotten Steve Poizner, Insurance Commissioner.

WOW--The media is just dedicated at all costs to smear conservatives and promote Democrats as much as they possibly can.

Some of the move away from the party can be associated with the deeply unpopular presidency of Donald J. Trump, who lost the state to Hillary Clinton by more than 4.2 million votes, receiving only 31.5 percent of the vote.

That is true for now. It's been six months already, and Republicans along the more moderate, centrist, and establishment wings are starting to recognize that their best chances to be effective depend on respecting and working with President Trump.

And this antipathy to all things Trump undoubtedly means Republicans will do miserably in the 2018 midterm elections as well. Democrats already have a supermajority in the state Legislature — meaning they can approve tax increases and regulations to their hearts’ content without needing any GOP votes. And some prognosticators say Republicans will fall even further back in the next election.

LIE! Trump is becoming a more popular commodity, even in California. I do no believe that he will drag down the ticket at all. In fact, Republicans are more likely to come out swinging for their President. The seven seats which Democrats are targeting in California will not flip into Democratic hands.

The failing, falling Democratic Party is going the way of the same perverse, liberal media: closing its doors while losing integrity, trust, and relevance.

So what happened?

The party’s decline is often traced back to Republican Gov. Pete Wilson’s support for Proposition 187, the 1994 ballot measure that cut public benefits to undocumented immigrants. The measure so antagonized the state’s growing Latino voting population and other immigrant communities that they began voting as a bloc for Democrats.

Another lie. Prop 187 was popular among all voter demographics.

Another trend was the virtual end of the aerospace industry in the Los Angeles area in the 1990s, which resulted in an out migration of defense industry workers, many of whom voted for Republican candidates, from the state’s biggest population center, and an inflow of immigrant workers, who mostly voted Democratic.

There is more truth to this assessment. The aerospace industry went into moderate decline because the United States outlasted the Soviet Union. Part of the reason why the South Bay section of Los Angeles county took on a decidedly Democratic hue in 1992 was because of this.

The rise of the tech industry in the 1990s, which continues today, also gave Democrats a boost, as skilled workers from other countries have mostly voted Democratic.

Let's see how long this lasts.Most of the tech and Silicon industries are located in Democratic areas to begin with.

And while Republicans are still somewhat viable in the state’s rural and agricultural areas, the population-rich coastal areas are solidly blue.

That could change. Anything is possible. Wisconsin was considered an untouchable state for Republicans. Trump won the Dairy State, the first time in over 30 years that Wisconsin went red. Why? The power of big labor was taken down through Governor Scott Walker's strategic reforms, thus cutting of the chief funding source for the Democratic Party.

The same reforms could be coming to California following another high-profile Supreme Court case.

And speaking of Big Labor:

The upshot is that legislation increasingly favors the public employee unions who give heavily to Democratic candidates, and to left-of-center initiatives that would not play well in the Rust Belt or the southern United States, but are unquestioned in California.

This fact of life, according to liberals, is about to change. Bet on it.

The lack of debate on many issues, however, is not healthy. One-party rule historically has led to overreach and even corruption among elected officials, who have no need to moderate positions to appeal to centrist or conservative voters.

Of course the lack of debate on issues is not healthy. The first offenders in this regard is not the political process, but rather the corrupt, left-wing media, which has gone to great lengths to shame conservatives and criticize Republicans with abandon, like in this report.

It has come to this: Trump has only sounded what for now seems like the death knell for a once-relevant and viable opposition party.

The corrupt media was convinced that Donald Trump would never announce a bid for President.

Then they predicted that he would not win the Republican nomination.

Then they were assured that he would never win the general election.

He beat them down at every turn.

I am prepared to see him beat down the arrogant California media in the same way.

The liberal press in California has become a wasteland, a shell of its once grand influence in local and statewide elections. All of that is changing. The newspaper industry has become increasingly centralized into limited, overreaching corporate hands.

The stories have less to do with what is going on in everyday lives, and more to do with pushing a distance, out of touch false narrative. No wonder the newspaper industry is in such decline, all while conservative activists, writers, and politicos are filling in the vacuum with stories of local and statewide successes. Conservative groups are becoming more effective at overwhelming and overcoming the political process which has been too-long dominated by the Democratic Party and its illiberal leanings.

The truth is that as California conservatives, specifically the growing phalanx of Trump supporters and activist patriots, get engaged and demand change in the political and moral culture of the state, expect to see YUGE changes at the local level and growing shift of legal and juridical change at the state level.

The press has gotten it wrong so much in California, that they should be more concerned about their growing irrelevance, not that of the Republican Party of California.

Letter to the Editor: "Great Job Trying to Get People to Debate You on Ideas"

Hello Mr. Schaper, I briefly spoke to you at the event in San Bernardino.  I told you that I had seen your video from Oregon.  Seeing that video of you in Oregon was my introduction to you.  I thought you did a great job trying to get people to debate you on ideas.  When I just happened to see you right in front of me in San Bernardino, I knew I had to approach you, even just to say hi.  I am following you on Twitter and YouTube now.  I found watched your video about what happened in Huntington Park.  

One of the videos on the right side of the screen said "6/7/17 Huntington Park kicks out white supremacists!" (here is the link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLZ4wx39LCc)  From everything that I have seen of you, and your interaction with me, both my parents are from Mexico and both came here legally, I have not seen anything that told me you are a "white supremacist".  That's why I wanted to make sure you knew of what this person who posted the video is claiming.

Continue to fight for conservative principles.  I've always have been given a difficult time because of my conservative beliefs and having brown skin.  But I always say that I bleed Red, White and Blue.  God Bless.

Ann Coulter: Not Showing UP for Free Speech is a Cultural Shutdown

I have been hard on Ann Coulter in the past.

I once called her “The Incredible Shrinking Ann Coulter” because of her vicious—and sometimes vulgar—attacks on long-term Presidential favorite Ted Cruz. She was right about Trump, though I still give Senator Cruz mad props for fighting the good fight. His latest legislative insight, civil asset forfeiture of Mexican Drug Lord El Chapo’s billions for the wall—is pure gold.

Coulter has written very provocative statements, and one tweet got her fired from National Review. On the flip side, she has written some of the most penetrating and erudite political studies, and never once has she feared bucking trends and upending narratives. For this reason, among others, I joined with Los Angeles County for Trump as well as other social media stars like Baked Alaska, Tim Pool, and Shuttershot45 to see Ann Coulter give a riveting speech about illegal immigration and our government’s needs to enforce its immigration laws.

Wednesday morning, in the Encino/Universal City section of Los Angeles, I was getting primed to join her in the culture war for freedom of speech. Friends and fellow fighters from throughout Los Angeles County were ready for another rumble in the hotbed of liberalism. Then the news trickled in: Ann Coulter was cancelling her speech, citing security concerns. The announcement overwhelmed social media like a deluge: her sponsors backed out, her legal team would not defend her, and the Berkeley police signaled that they would not be able to protect her.

I could not believe this. I had read one week ago that Coulter was the last conservative with guts. Then she backs out. What an epic fail. Ben Shapiro wrote the next day: Fascism Wins. Coulter joined Tucker Carlson later that night to explain the situation. I was left unimpressed. Whether anyone realizes it or not, freedom of speech faces unprecedented assault, especially in institutions where one would expect its sanctity to remain defended and inviolable. Churches, charities, and small businesses face lawsuits, threats, and bankruptcy for voicing their concerns and standing by their religious convictions. College Republican/conservative cubs must pay hefty security fees and assume all liability costs—which they can’t, so they don’t showcase keynote conservative speakers.

The assault on free speech has hit Main Street, too.

I have attended town halls and city council meetings throughout Southern California. When I called out the Mayor of Anaheim, CA Tom Tait for violating the Brown Act and for not enforcing the rules of decorum, I was thrown out. Aggressive liberals have invaded town halls, yelling and jeering for every time on the check-list of socialist goals. They don’t get sanctioned or thrown out. When I called out card-carrying Communist Congresswoman Judy Chu (D-Pasadena) for her numerous ethical violations, the rogue police immediately escorted out. Before that, they had ordered me to remove a banner on my shoulders because it violated the town hall rules of decorum, when it actually didn’t.

This is fascism with a smile on its face, folks, and it’s time for our leaders as well as the followers to take a stance. I will not be silent.

And neither should have Ann Coulter.

So, Los Angeles County for Trump took a private limousine-bus up to the People’s Republic of Berkeley, ready for anything, with or without Queen Anne. On the way up, we stopped in Central and Northern California, where so many Trump supporters came up to us. They embraced our passion and courage. The same refrain came out of their mouths: “I didn’t know there were other Trump supporters in California.” Especially in Los Angeles County!

Within minutes of our final stop on Bancroft Street at UC Berkeley, the local media interviewed us. Mind you, they were preparing a story on something else, but we became their featured report for the evening. Twitter sensation Baked Alaska spoke out: “We are here to be peaceful. We have no intention of starting violence.” That was true then, and it’s true now. Our team demonstrated the true diversity of the Trump movement in California. We had Asians, Blacks, and Latinos for Trump joining, including immigrants from Central America furious about millions of illegals clamoring for immediate amnesty.

I expected nothing less than peaceful victory the next day, and I was right. The makeshift free speech rally began at 2 p.m. in Martin Luther King Jr. Park. By 1 p.m., conservatives of all stripes swarmed the main plaza. One man held the American flag at the top of a dried-up fountain. He ensured that our banner yet waved above all other banners. Men and women draped in American flags, Trump gear, picture of Pepe the Frog, and most importantly riot gear of their own populated the entire square. This Trump supporter never felt so at home, and right in the heart of ultra-liberal Berkeley, California.

The conservative masses there were stumping not just for Trump, but for freedom of speech, for our rights as citizens, and for our great country. After eight years of Barack Obama and the insidious poison of silencing political correctness, We the People—especially in California—had had enough and staked out our stance. Other guest speakers, including Laura Southern and Gavin McInnes, spoke at the rally. McInnes even read Ann Coulter’s scheduled speech.

She should have been there. Granted, not building the wall along our southern border counts as government abandoning its core responsibility. But a conservative advocating for principles of freedom of speech as well as enforcement of our immigration laws needs to stand up and fight for these principles, even in the face of dire threats.

Antifa showed up, but with limited effect. Berkeley police, in full riot regalia, defended the streets, and free speech advocates won the day. Trump supporters signaled that they won’t rest until every right is secured, even in the most liberal bastions. If conservatism’s leading minds won’t step up, then We the People will. After all, Americanism is at stake. There is no America apart from the First Amendment.
