In the last LA City Council Meeting, the panel recognized the Occupy Los Angeles protests.
One speaker targeted Couniclmembers Jan Perry, Bernard Parks, and Herb Wesson for neglecting the plight of African-American voters.
Since when have African-American voters gotten the impression that legislative officials and political leaders ever cared about them as such?
Perry and Co. are politicians above all else. The content of the character is far more relevant (and suspect) than the color of their skin. If African-Americans in the Greater Los Angeles area want real hope and change, they should hope for less government and change the current minority race-baiting leadership that dominates (and contaminates) the Democratic party.
Progressivism Chicago style (with cronyism and corruption mixed in) has done nothing for black, white, or Hispanic voters in improving their economic opportunities or thier political liberty. Voters need to stop paying attention to the shade of a candidate's skin, and start paying attention to the scehma of his political platform.
