Back-Handed Compliment: Special Thanks to John Paul Tabakian

I have been so busy with all the election stuff for the last three months, and then there was all the work I was doing for MassResistance, that now, finally I have the chance to write about this discovery.

Back in 2016, I exposed mega (not "MAGA") grifter John Paul Takabian and his racist, La Raza type minions. They had conspired to trespass on a veterans hall in West Carson, CA. Jimmy Gow, the President of the Torrance Democratic Club.

Later on, though, I found out that Tabakian had been saying some positive things about me in the Torrance Democratic Club meetings.

Here's a report I reportedly received from an employee at Hometown Buffet in Torrance in late 2019 (during the 2020 city council elections).

At the time, I believed that the lady who was sharing everything with me was a relative of a guy named "Jose Perez."

Two years later, it has occured to me that there is no way that this so-called "Jose Perez" person or his supposed cousin could have gotten those photos in the Torrance Democratic club if that lady was an employee.

And then it dawned on me: someone who was attending the club meeting as a member took the photos in the meeting.

Who else could that have been?

John Paul Tabakian.

He has had a massive breakup with Jimmy Gow and the Torrance Democratic Club, I suppose. He was looking for any means to get back at them, so ...

It makes perfect sense that he took some revealing photos of the Torrance Democratic Club meeting in late November 2019 to expose what they were doing.

And based on what some people in the city told me, after Jimmy Gow and his miscreants trespassed on the veterans hall in West Carson, that this "John Perez" or "Jose Perez" person was in fact Joh Paul Tabakian!

All the pieces seem to fit. John Paul gave me the photos to ruin the Torrance Democratic Club's chances in the 2020 election. He has been playing both sides of the political spectrum for a long time.

Just this once, then, I can give him a little thanks.

Thank you, John Paul, for exposing the corrupted inner workings of the Torrance Democratic Club. There is one question that remains, however: How will Jimmy Gow react when he finds out that another Democrat, John Paul, helped me expose the Torrance Democratic Club's shenanigans?

Schaper Derangement Syndrome: President of Torrance Democratic Club Has Shirts With My Name

This is quite a compliment, actually.

Again, I don't know whether to laugh, or laugh out loud and keep laughing at this point.

Beneath Jen "Karen" Graham's Facebook post targeting me in the "Torrance Community Group," Jimmy Gow, the failed city council candidate, the failed former member of the Torrance Social Services Commission, and the current (really ongoing, because no one else wants the job) president of the failed Torrance Democratic Club, had some things to share about me, too!

There's living in people's heads rent free, and there there's having the penthouse! With Jimmy Gow, I think I have the penthouse view of Fifth Avenue.

Wow! This is "Schaper Derangement Syndrome" on a whole other level! WOW! I am starting to wonder if this is a cry for help or something. These people really do need counseling, therapy, something! Why would anyone want my name on a T-shirt, and then they would wear it?

Now, Jimmy Gow claims that because I blog about him by name, he has "made it in local Democratic politics".

Does he define "making it" as losing one city council race after another? He was the bottom vote-getter in the 2018 Torrance City Council elections, and he barely eked out of last place in his latest bid for Torrance City Council in the 2022 Torrance City Council elections for District One. (Once again, he did not win.)

Does he define "making it in local Democratic politics" by having every major endorsement from local and county Democratic officials, only to lose one election after another? It's hard to believe but it's true: Gow had endorsements from both Congressmen (Ted Lieu and Maxine Waters); our state assemblyman Al Muratsuchi, who even walked precincts for him!; and LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn.

And Gow still lost! 

Does "making it" include having members of the Torrance Democratic Club shutting out people who want to speak their Congressman, to petition him for a redress of grievances? That happened in 2013. Click here for information about that.

At any rate, Jimmy Gow clearly has a bad case of Schaper Derangement Syndrome, and all I can say is "WINNING!"

Stupid Sales Tax Desperation? Five Mailers in Two Weeks

In the last two weeks, I have received five mailers with different endorsements and scare tactics telling me that I MUST, MUST, MUST support Measure SST, which will raise the city sales tax by half a percent.

If I do not support the sales tax hike, every core and essential service will shut down!

If I do not tax myself more on every purchase I make in the city, then the whole city will go bankrupt!

If I do not add to the inflation already crippling household budgets and forcing people to cut back on essentials, then life as we know it will end and the world will self-combust in a ball of fire!

Blah, blah, blah.

Councilman George Chen rightly denounced these scare tactics.

It's really insulting that the city staff and the city council majority forced the residents to even consider a tax hike, when so many of us are hurting because of the high costs of gas, groceries, and other goods and services.

How tone deaf, how out of touch can people be?

So, let's take a look at the five mailers which have flooded mailboxes throughout the city begging every voter to cough up more of their dwindling financial resources to the city:

Here's the first one I received:

"Every second counts!"

Yes, indeed, every second counts when it comes to emergency care. No one would dispute that. The argument, however, that we must raise the sales tax to ensure that the fire department and the ambulance services remain running is disingenuous at best.

Last month, I had a health emergency and called the fire department. They arrived on scene within two minutes. In fact, there are six fire stations in the city, and they are currently adequately staffed.

Also, there is already a $23 million reserve in the general fund (not $500k, as the Daily Breeze had earlier reported), and that fund is going to increase to $32 million by June, 2022.

We do not need the sales tax increase. No, we do not have to worry about health emergencies going unanswered if the sales tax increase does not pass.

Now, here's two more flyers pressing for the sales tax increase:

The SST committee is relying on LA County Supervisor Janice Hahn to make the pitch for this stupid sales tax? Really?

Who thought that this was a good idea?

Most people have no idea who their supervisor is, representing them in Downtown LA.

Second of all, so what if some other elected official outside of the city wants a sales tax increase? 

This kind of advertisement is a bigger turn-off than a turn-on to support this tax move.

Let's cut through the crap here: Supervisor Hahn simply wanted to put her face on a mailer so that she could promote herself, and she wants to keep in good graces with the public sector unions in the city. She is a union whore, after all, giving the public sector union lobbies everything they want and then some, no matter how much it costs the taxpayers, and no matter whether the citizens get their money's worth for all the spending.

These two flyers were just an insulting waste of time, to put it mildly. Pure political opportunism and sex promotion, nothing more.

Here are two more flyers. The first one tries to appeal to everyone's sense of Torrance as a nice, home-town place where everyone belongs and everyone shares the long-standing history of the city:

Hey, it's a great map! It's a nice, glossy mailer that gets the reader's attention.

But guess what? I still don't want to pay more in sales tax!

Yes, there is that headline "Every penny stays right here to keep in Torrance."

Actually, such a blunt, obvious headline does not inspire confidence. I guess a focus group or another poll indicated that people are more worried now than before about how the money will actually be spent, and whether it will actually stay in the city of Torrance.

The SST committee is not being completely honest here. There is no certainty that the money will be used for police, fire, or paramedics. There are no specific strings attached to the monies to ensure that they go to essential services. In fact, much of the money will likely go to pensions and benefits for retired workers, which means that the money will NOT stay in the city at all!

But regarding the fact that the money will not be earmarked to specific costs, the city will indeed have the full discretion to spend the new tax revenues on anything they want in the city. That does not inspire confidence to support this measure, even if all the money stays in the city.

When the city council was debating this matter, Councilman Mattucci offered to consider this tax measure if the ballot initiative made it absolutely clear that the monies would only be spent on police or fire. For that kind of initiative to pass, however, would have required a two-thirds vote of the residents.

There is no way that two-thirds of the city would support a tax increase, even if the money would be directly tied to specific essential services in the city only.

In fact, when the city council and staff were investigating how to raise revenue via a sales tax increase, they had initially consider a .075 percent sales tax! After polling on that issue, however, they realized that it would not pass. When they considered a .5 percent sales tax, their polling sample resulted in a bare 52% supporting the tax increase. Of course, all of that was before the price of gas doubled and budget-crippling inflation had set in!

This Stupid Sales Tax Committee has tried so many arguments to make their case. They have threatened residents that core services will suffer if they do not vote to tax themselves more. They have asked Supervisor Hahn to endorse the proposal, and they sent two tacky flyers promoting the self-promoting county politician to everyone in the city.

And now they are trying to assure everyone that the money will stay in the city.

Last of all, they have listed a whole bunch of politicians and city staff, retired and current, who endorse this proposal.

I really have to question this kind of logic.

So what if a bunch of former and current city councilmembers, administrative staff, fire chiefs, police chiefs, etc. endorse a sales tax hike? It's not their money.

It's our money they are asking for more of!

And, the current city councilmembers who endorse this SST measure are the same people who approved spending down the general fund reserves over the last SEVEN YEARS! They were fiscally irresponsible. Why should we pick up the tab on their lack of restraint?

But what really caught my attention with this latest flyer is that they repeat names on the list! Did anyone bother to edit this flyer?

Look at these close-up shots of the listed endorsements:

"Street Racing Kills" is listed twice. What does the fight to curb street racing (which is a dangerous practice, to be sure) have to do with raising the sales tax? And why list it twice? Granted, the second list includes the director for the movement, but shouldn't the organization's endorsement alone suffice?

Oh, and the flyer lists Jimmy Gow, the abused President of the Torrance Democratic Club, as an endorser. This is the shameless, self-promotional politics that we got with the two previous flyers propping up Supervisor Hahn. Give me a break!

So, because a partisan activist who trespassed on a veterans hall, and went with minions who spit at veterans and stole their property -- he is listed twice on a flyer to endorse a sales tax increase?

What was the SST Committee thinking?!

This is desperation, nothing more.

Torrance voters need to reject this Stupid Sales Tax. One flyer after another indicates clear desperation. Frankly, the committee pushing this measure should be ashamed of themselves, considering all the economic challenges that Torrance residents are facing as it is.

The United States is facing a recession. The S and P Index just touched into Bear Market territory this past week.

The price of gas has skyrocketed, and it's only going higher. The price of groceries is going up by 20%, 30%, 40%. Business is slowing for many small business owners, too.

And with this perfect storm of econmic troubles, the city council and staff want to push a sales tax increase? And this increase is not even necessary, and it will only discourage commerce in the city.

Say NO to the Stupid Sales Tax increase.

                         

Torrance City Council Election 2022: The Fight For North Torrance (District One)

 There are two very contentious races in the 2022 Torrance City Council Elections:

1. Torrance City Council, District One

2. Torrance City Treasurer

For this post, I am going to explore the District One contest more closely. 

This is the northern most district, a region of the city which has not gotten as much attention compared to other areas of the city. Based on the number of Title One enrollees at North High School, it's the poorest area of the city. It has seen a higher degree of crime compared to other areas of the city as well.

It's also the most Democratic region of the city, if one is paying attention to the affilation of voters in the area. Of course, I have found that many residents in the city are not as keenly focused on the party affiliation of city council candidates, as much as they focus on

There are four candidates for this seat. Right away, we understand why this fight is so contentious.

This race has a diverse split in all the endorsements. That certain will make for an interesting contest come June 7th, 2022.

How does this all break down, though?

Jimmy Gow is clearly the most partisan of the endorsements. He has gotten complete backing from every Democratic machine politician in the region, from Congress to the county to the state assembly. No one should be surprsied, since he remains the president of the Torrance Democratic Club, an institution with a history of shutting down public participation when residents want to confront their locally elected officials.

The last thing that many TOrrance voters want is an outright partisan, based on how elections have fallen for the last several decades in the city of Torrance. What's worse, though, is that Jimmy Gow was recently removed from the commission that he had served on for a number of years: The Social Services Commission.

It's a bitter irony that he servded on that commission, based on his obstreperous behavior during the 2016 President election. His infamously visited the West Carson Veterans Hall in 2016, in which he and other rabid leftists trespassed on the property, spit at veterans, pushed them around, and one of the hateful activists stole the phone from one of the veterans at the hall.

Jimmy Gow should be a clear "No" for any voter in North Torrance. He ran in 2018, when city council seats were still elected at large, and he was the bottom vote-getter. Will his overt connections to the Democratic Party get him into the seat?

Well, Democratic voters in North Torrance have another, more professional choice: LA County Deputy DA David Zygielbaum.

He's much more likeable and approachable. He also has a young family and he currently serves on a commission, having received the unanimous endorsement of the city council at that time. He helped start a Neighborhood Watch in his area, too. Plus the fact that he has endorsed by the two public safety unions in the city, and Zygielbaum is a viable option for partisan voters who want a city councilman with some panache and substance.

However, any candidate who receives Mayor Pat Furey's endorsement should invite considerable suspicious. Pat Furey has been a disgrace, an absolute disaster for the city of Torrance. A bitter partisan with open disdain for his colleagues on the council, a political hack of dubious moral distinction who colluded with a local PAC during the 2014 Torrance City Council elections, Furey is one creepy fellow. Many people in the city have had nothing but disdain for this man, in large part because of his rampant disrespect to voters and speakers in the city council chambers.

And his complete incompetence when it comes to running city council meetings has harmed everyone in the city. He refused to take a stand against outside hate groups which have long disrupted city council meetings. He has refused to take a stance against the relentless borrowing from the city's general fund.

Pat Furey has been a huge disappointment to the city, and anyone whom he endorses is all the more suspect as a result.

Like Zygielbaum, David Kartsonis has a considerable record of public service in the city of Torrance, specifically for North Torrance, and for the general region due to his advocacy and volunteer efforts with El Camino College. In 2020, he ran for a seat on the El Co Board of Trustees, and he even received numerous endorsements from local and county elected officials from across the political spectrum.

Yet he still lost.

He's running for the North Torrance city council seat with a considerable array of endorsements, but many of them are formerly elected officials, not current ones, aside from Torrance City Councilmembers Mike Griffiths and Heide Ashcraft. 

Kartsonis has considerable ties to the area, no doubt, and he does not have a partisan axe to grind. Is he the best pick for the seat?

Then there's Jon Kaji.

He's an Independent, and an independent business owner. He has the endorsement of two Torrance city councilmembers. He has ties to the Torrance business community, certainly. Most of his endorsements are from his activism and his connections with his alma mater USC.

It helps to have someone who is more of an outsider running for the Torrance City Council. As it stands now, two of the city councilmembers--George Chen and Sharon Kalani--never served on city commissioners before. It's worthwhile for voters to send a message to the community that they will give "outsiders" a chance to serve on the city council, as well.

There is one clear distinction which Kaji holds compared to the other three candidates: he is the only candidate who opposes raising the city sales tax. That is a considerable development, and makes him a worthwhile consideration.

Final Reflection

Diverse, divided endorsements, different political backgrounds, distinct records of public service: all these elements make the race for Torrance City Council District One an election for the Torrance history books. How will the voters assess these different candidates? Will the endorsements play any kind of factor? Each nominee has a number of respectable suppporters, and some of them have supporters from the same government agency (Torrance City Council, El Camino College Board of Trustees.)

The professional background of each candidate is something to consider, as well.

How will this race shape up going into June 7th?

WINNING: Abusive Incumbent, Liberal Partisan Shut Out of Torrance Commission

Torrance Democratic Club President Jimmy Gow has been an engaged, enraged partisan in Torrance politics for many years.

I first learn about this guy in 2013, when he had shut out constituents from a town hall he hosted, which featured our (former) Congressman Henry Waxman in 2013. You can read more about that embarassing event for Mr. Gow here.

Basically, he shut them out of the town hall, even though the Congressman's own office had advertised the event as "Open to the Public." I even called his office the day after residents in Torrance had told me that they were kicked out. Gow had egg on his face, and the article that I wrote went viral throughout the South Bay.

Later on, he got involved with trying to defend corrupt Torrance Mayor Pat Furey's son, Patrick Furey, who was seated on the Torrance Traffic Commission. In 2015, another story broke in the local press that Patrick Furey was involved in yet another slew of ethical campaign violations.

This time, residents in the city, including myself, took the lead and demanded that Pat Jr. resign from the commission. This move made sense, since the city council had taken the initiative to remove another traffic commission, Omar Navarro, on the supposed charge that he had pepper-sprayed a youth in Cudahy. Video footage of the incident indicated that he had not sprayed any spray or hurt anyone. In any case, Navarro resigned from that commission after the city council took steps to initiative review to have him removed from the commission. If they would go after Navarro for spurious reasons, how could they ignore Pat Jr.?

In April 2016, Pat Jr. resigned before the city council took formal steps to remove him. Read about it here. To his notorious shame (but no one's surprise), Jimmy Gow tried to turn Pat Jr's removal into a partisan affair. He attacked me and others in the city for the emails that we had been sending to the Torrance City Council, urging them to remove God. It was very fitting when members of the audience began to boo Mr. Gow's disrespectful comments. It was quite gratifying for me!

In September, 2016, Jimmy Gow, with a group of violent social justice warriors, trespassed on a veterans hall. These agitators pushed people around, the stole the phone of one of the veterans on the property, and they spit at people.

To this day, there has been no recompense or correction for Mr. Gow's egregious actions that day.

Then in 2019, Terreah Duke Heitel, a homeless advocate in the city of Torrance, complained to the city council that Mr. Gow had harassed her, pushing her into a corner and greatly threatened her. Mr. Gow has no limits, no capacity to control himself. 

How is it possible that this disrespectful man can remain on any commission in the city of Torrance?

Then came the Torrance City Council Meeting on June 8th 2021. Click here for the segment on the appointments to the Torrance Social Services Commission.

Torrance Mayor Pat Furey nominated two incumbents from the Social Services Commission, which included Jimmy Gow. Strangely and sadly enough, Mike Griffiths also endorsed Gow.

But the other four city councilmembers endorsed two other nominees. They voted down an incumbent for a commission in the city of Torrance, which is pretty telling in itself. That almost never happens. More importantly, though, Gow got shut out!

Jimmy Gow was shut out of his reappointment to the commission! It's about time.

The city of Torrance does not need embittered, destructive, arrrogant, abusive partisans sitting on city commissions. Gow's long history of abusive behavior should never have been rewarded in such a terrible, destructive fashion in the first place.

This is a welcome turnaround in the city of Torrance. For too long, bad actors have gotten away with all kinds of disrespectful actions. It's time that these bad elements meet a proper end.

Torrance City Council Election: Opposition to Sanctuary State Law Helped Propel Conservatives to Victory

The Torrance City Council elections were a huge victory for me, for conservatives, and for the citizens as a whole in the Balanced City.

It was great to see Kurt Weideman gone, and to see Jimmy Gow, the anti-social injustice warrior, get taken down like a BOSS on election day. He received the lowest vote turnout, and it served him right.

As a reminder, Jimmy Gow joined the corrupt cabal of violent leftists to attack a veterans hall in West Carson two months before Election Day 2016. It was really bad, and shame on the Torrance City Council for doing nothing about it!

"I hate veterans, but don't tell anyone I said that!"

But today I wanted to focus specifically on the issue of SB 54, the sanctuary state law, and how it factored into the election.

Two candidates--only two--made a big show of their opposition to that unconscionable and unconstitutional law. Bill Sutherland paid it lip service, but he told me that he wasn't going to use his final comments during debates to single out that issue. 

Mayoral candidate Tom Brewer didn't talk about SB 54. According to one voter, Brewer decided that it wasn't that serious of an issue. I just found out that New Majority PAC, the same crappy and corrupt organization headed by Andy Gimme-Kandy (really Gharakani) was backing Brewer. I don't call them the "New Permanent Minority" for nothing. They don't want to win. They want to soft-pedal all the major issues, raise lots of money, and pay big prices to sit at "The Kool Kidz' Table". Brewer was getting bad advice, for certain, and David Hadley's endorsement and "machine" backing didn't get him elected, either.

In fact, illegal immigration and opposition to the sanctuary state law were deciding issues, along with public safety in general. Many of the people whom I spoke to in the city shared their alarm about this law. There was one voter who said that she had compassion on the illegals, but I told her that SB 54 protects violent criminals!  

I stressed a number of times my outrage with SB 54 to the city council. They issued a letter last year, but the deciding vote to write the letter took place in a legislative committee, not in an open vote of the city council. What are the councilmembers afraid of, if they received to issue a letter following an open vote before the public?

Finally, we have two more city councilmembers who are not afraid to speak out against illegal immigration:

These two individuals are immigrants. They played by the rules, passed all the tests, paid all the fees. Ask any naturalized citizen how long it takes to become a full-fledged citizen in this country. The time and costs are immense; therefore, it's fundamentally unfair to allow people to break into this country (a felony in its own right), then to cut in line in front of all those who have followed the law to become citizens.

George Chen and Aurelio Mattucci's telling victory is a big win for the city of Torrance and the rule of law, yet the local press refuses to cover this new trend. The reporter covering Torrance focused at least three articles on the fact that there are now no women on the city council. But we have two immigrants, including an Asian-American, as well as a black American representing the city of Torrance.

Of course, diversity doesn't matter to the press if the elected officials are conservatives.

Final Reflection

CAGOP Chairman Jim Brulte reported to Stuart Varney on "Varney and Company" that the fight against the gas tax propelled Republicans to a strong voter turnout. He forgot to mention the fight against the perverse sanctuary state law and the fight against illegal immigration in general. Throughout Orange County, I saw signs touting opposition to the sanctuary state law as well as the gas tax hikes. In Torrance, SB 54 was the signature issue that got two candidates elected to city council, and in the process they beat a liberal incumbent who had served as President of the Torrance Historical Society and who had received commensurate support from the Torrance Police Officers' Association.

What's more, Chen did not have any prior local government experience, in that he had never served on a commission or worked with any standing Torrance sitting committee--yet he won!

If conservatives want a chance to win in November, they need to focus on ending illegal immigration, as well as combating corruption and ending the onerous taxes driving hard-working middle-class Californians out of the state. The overrunning of our borders, the drain on our public welfare systems, and the destruction against our quality of life has all occurred because of illegal immigration, and yet it affects all of us!

Election 2018: Major Victories for Torrance!

For the Torrance City Council elections on June 5th, 2018, I had no idea what to expect.

The mayor's race was a loss to me, since two other candidates running, once again guaranteeing that the vote would be split and Creepy Pat would win re-election.

Yep, that's what happened.

But I will leave that aside for now, since that was all but predicted to happen.

Check out what happened with the city council race:

New York State lefitst carpetbagger Tim Goodrich got the top vote just because he played the veteran card (and with lots of help from east coast campaign firms), even though he was burning our flag rather than standing for it after his deployment in Iraq.

He also got big money from major labor unions, but he is the lone outright leftist on the council, so his aggressive agenda will be further curtailed for the next two years.

But the big victory, and I call it big, is that two of my picks for city council won!

These victories are huge wins for the following reasons:

1. They edged out one of the liberal, anti-refinery incumbents: Kurt Weideman. Kurt was a partisan Democrat even though he had rebuffed me four years ago because I was so partisan myself. He had given me his business card and invited me to talk with him shortly after his election, but I just could not get behind a guy who stood with Al "Union Whore" Muratsuchi.

Kurt was working with the Big Green agenda types in the city, too, including 350 Joe "Green Nazi" Galliani.

Getting rid of an incumbent is next to impossible, and I had no idea what to expect from this election. Then again, with multiple candidates running, all with strong credentials in opposition to big spending and other wasteful projects, it's good to see that the city was willing to get rid of one of then.

2. Weideman's loss and Chen and Mattucci's gain is a defeat for the Torrance public sector union cabal.

Heidi Aschcraft had been endorsed by the Torrance Police Officer's Association in 2014, which was one of the reasons why I had not supported her. She retired, and now we have George and Aurelio, neither of whom were endorsed by the Torrance POA.

We need representatives on the city council who aren't going to fall in line and hand out big money to the public employees. Not to dishonor their service, but the unions do not represent workers nor the best interests of the city. They represent unions, nothing more.

It's good to see the union chokehold loosened even further.

3. Both candidates are conservative Republicans. The partisan balance on the city council has now shifted from 4-3 to 5-2 Republican (even though Geoff Rizzo is more RINO-ish than conservative), and even then Pat Furey does not vote as left-wing as Tim Goodrich does. Why? As mayor, Furey has to be the adult in the room to some extent. Furey did not vote with Weideman and Goodrich for a resolution to ban MHF in the city of Torrance, either.

Aside from his union whore affiliations, Furey's liberal partisan wranglings will have little effect on our city politics. Five Republicans (and four conservatives, to say the least) now hold the city council.

4. Two immigrants (they came legally!) join the city council. That's a big deal in my view, especially to push against the bigots who have shamed me and other conservatives for being anti-immigrant. We have more immigrants on our city council than cities in Southeastern Los Angeles County, including Cudahy and Huntington Park.

5. Two pro-business, anti-Agenda 21 candidates will turn Torrance away from Community Choice Aggregation, other wasteful green programs. Aurelio ran for city council in 2014 opposing Agenda 21 programs as well as pushing against the other green subsidy nonsense. George Chen has been informed and is opposed to this program, too. The two candidates are also pro-economic growth. We need as many people as possible on the city council who will work toward getting our city's finances and financial opportunities on firm footing.

6. Chen and Mattucci CAMPAIGNED against SB 54! This issue was one of the most vital for me. We need more people on the city council to take a stand against this lawlessness. I anticipate that the city council will finally take a vote against this terrible law. So excited!

7. Pension issues will get due attention. Because the Torrance POA candidates didn't sweep the election, I predict that the new city council will take a closer look at the rising pension costs in the city. Right now, one out of every four dollars in tax revenue is going toward a pension. This is unacceptable. Cities are for citizens and tax dollars belong to the best public use, not just for politically-connected retirees.

8. The Torrance Establishment/Political Machine died big time. The Scotto-Brewer-Sutherland machine died hard last night. The rumblings behind the scenes about what happened to scuttle Brewer's second attempt at mayor will be forthcoming soon. The political establishment in general took a big hit last night, too, because George Chen ran as a total outside. He never sat on a city commission or other governing board in the city of Torrance. Finally, we have candidates who have served their community in a variety of ways without "kissing the ring" for a token appointment on a city commission.

9. I told Craig Huey to scuttle his endorsement for Kurt Weideman, and that paid off! I am glad that I could exert a little more influence in this race than in the past. At first, Craig Huey--who runs "California/LA Voter Guide"--had endorsed Kurt Weideman along with George Chen and Aurelio Mattucci. I received an email from another Torrance voter about this very strange, inconsistent endorsement. I contacted Craig right away about this, then told him that despite what some sources had shared, Weideman was no conservative Democrat.

Huey called me a week later and relented, removing the endorsement. He refused to support Bill Sutherland, which I could understand, since Sutherland betrayed the Torrance voters and the county Republicans by endorsing Al Muratsuchi instead of Huey in the 2012 66th State Assembly race.

10. Jimmy Gow, the Torrance Democratic Club President, lost big time. I was so shocked and offended that Jimmy Gow ran for city council, that I almost jumped in myself. How arrogant can these liberals get? To remind everyone, Jimmy Gow was one of the anti-social injustice warriors who attacked a veterans hall in West Carson in 2016. Sheriff Joe Arpaio was the special guest of the Los Angeles County Impact Republicans, and as expected a bunch of regressive leftist SJWs showed up to raise hell.

A reminder of the terrible things they did:

a. One of them called a black woman a "house n---ger"

b. They stole the phone from one veteran

c. They spit at the veterans.

d. They trespassed on private property

e. They pushed innocent people to the ground.

I had called out Jimmy Gow publicly for doing this, and yet the city council did nothing about it. 

At least Torrance voters did! He bottomed out completely!

For me, as a long-time Torrance resident, these election results are a big victory in some ways.

We have much to hope for in the city of Torrance. Let's work hard to Keep Torrance Great!

Election 2018 Torrance City Council: Drop Out Tom Brewer!

Election 2018 is contentious this year.

We need to make sure that voters bring the best people into office, and put out the corruption and cronyism which have become endemic in our culture and our cities.

Pat Furey sold his soul for the McCormick Contract. His son Pat Jr. was a scuzzy political consultant who had no problem breaking the rules. He was cited three times for campaign finance violations, including the corrupt actions with his father's campaign for mayor in 2014.

To this day, the mayor and the city council have done nothing about Jimmy Gow, the regressive leftist who trespassed on a veterans hall, where his minions stole the phone from one veteran, then spit and pushed other veterans.

Now Gow wants to run for city council?!

We need to get rid of Pat Furey, too.

There are currently two other candidates running for mayor. 

I have endorsed Ron Riggs for Mayor. He is the only candidate who has bothered showing up to events. He has raised money, and he wants to do something better for the city.

So, this is my message to Tom Brewer ..

Look, Tom, I endorsed you boldly and without reserve in 2014. You had the better chance and the ethical stance on issues. Now I don't see you doing anything anymore. Did you really think that people were just going to throw money at you for your re-election bid?

It's over, Tom. You served as a city councilman for 8 years. We get that you wanted to be mayor, and we respect your service.

But it's time to step aside and let someone else run for mayor. If you couldn't get this thing settled four years ago, then it's too late to try again this time.

Tom, you need to drop out.

People, here a few more things I have to say about Tom Brewer.

He is pro-choice. I am pro-life. Values matter.

Tom is liberal-leaning, and he had told me that Republicans need to reach out and moderate for Millennials. That kind of thinking is wrong. We need to stand our ground for what is right, regardless of the age or background of any segment of people in the population.

I am no longer impressed if a candidate has a lot of endorsements from different elected officials, current or retired. The most important endorsement is the vote in the ballot box

Anti-Social, Anti-Veteran Leftist Running for Torrance City Council (Not Tim Goodrich)

I can't believe how desperate the left has become, even in the "Balanced" City of Torrance.

We have two regressive leftists on the city council, Kurt Weideman and Tim Goodrich, who are both committed to shutting down the Torrance refinery.

Now we have Jimmy Gow, the previous President of the Torrance Democratic Club, is running for city council.

He still serves as the chairman of the Social Services Commission, even though he and a bunch of left-wing anti-social in-justice warriors trespassed on a veterans hall, spit at veterans, and stole the phone of one veteran.

Sparks Flying: July 18 Torrance City Council Meeting

The Torrance City Council is turning into a hot-bed of conflict.

The Brown Supremacy Movement tried to get more people in trouble.

They lied about Omar Navarro pepper-spraying little children.

They also lied about Trump supporters and pro-immigration enforcement activists terrorizing communities in the Southeastern Los Angeles County region.

Terrible but true.

There was good that came out of the Brown Supremacy Movement trying to cause trouble in Torrance.
