 110 Ways Citizens Can Make a Difference Now!

At a time when our country and state are in disarray and crisis mode, I am reassessing how I will spend my time and energy to improve government and keep our great Republic intact.  Each of us should do this now, if we want to leave a lasting and positive legacy to future Idaho generations.  I still believe all governing power is in the people and when exercised in positive and purposeful ways, it is still the most powerful tool to overcome any societal issue.   We should never be waiting for a government fix because it is always more expensive, incredibly time consuming, and it discourages interpersonal dialogue.    We need to look no further than this “pandemic” to see how ineffective government can be with its “one size fits all” solutions loaded with hidden agendas and consequences. 

 

In an effort to move towards more self-reliance and less government reliance, I have developed the following list of 110 suggested steps you can start doing today to make a difference and keep our Republic. These are meant to be a starting point and I am sure each of you will think of more.  I encourage you to pick three things to start with and attempt to accomplish them before the November election.  Please vote in November, since the fate of your state and country depends upon it.


110 Things You Can Do Now by Rep. Heather Scott

  1. Understand where your rights come from, what they are, and what unalienable means and be able to explain this to another person.
  2. Stop supporting any and all biased media or social networks that distort the truth, censor facts, and stifle free speech.
  3. Support local businesses who provide local jobs, help local communities, and respect your rights.
  4. Work to change the political campaign finance laws by pressuring your legislators for change and exposing special interest groups and lobbyists who use their influence money to promote increased government regulations, stifle competition, breed crony capitalism, and buy elections.
  5. Understand and believe that our Constitution works because all power is in the people, not government.
  6. Remind your elected officials regularly that they are there to serve you, the people. You are their boss, and when necessary use your vote to remove them from office.
  7. Stop worrying about what others are not doing, or what you think they should do, and take action and responsibility for yourself.
  8. Host or be a catalyst for regular gatherings to discuss current issues and solutions with friends and neighbors and develop a plan of action for uncertain times.
  9. Turn off your TV and consider opening your Bible.
  10. Understand the jurisdictional boundary of every government entity that collects tax or fee money from you to run government programs. Start by looking at your property tax statement.
  11. Be educated about your local politics because these issues impact your life much more than national issues.
  12. Take a state or federal Constitution class.
  13. Respect, and demand respect from your elected officials and unelected bureaucrats, even if they don’t agree with you.
  14. Take a civics class.
  15. Donate to a candidate who shares your values.
  16. Learn what legislative district you live in, who makes the decisions on your behalf at that state level and study their voting records.
  17. Learn who your federal congressional representatives and senators are and what congressional district you live in.
  18. Meet an elected official for coffee and begin developing a relationship.
  19. Attend a school board meeting, observe if and how they respond to public input, and check out their school policies.
  20. Take the lead on an issue that needs fixing.
  21. Understand regional government and be able to identify regional governing bodies that are making decisions for you.
  22. Share your knowledge and skills with others.
  23. Know where your line in the sand is when it comes to defending your rights.
  24. Build a network of likeminded neighbors and friends so there is strength in numbers when issues arise.
  25. Learn how to communicate with elected officials.
  26. Learn the state process of making law.
  27. Understand state sovereignty and why it is critical to the future of our Republic.
  28. Meet your sheriff, understand his authority, and make sure he understands it.
  29. Understand the role of your county prosecuting attorney and how they prosecute or defend the current laws.
  30. Attend your county commissioners’ regular budget hearings.
  31. Help a home school parent with knowledge or a skill you have.
  32. Get out of debt and stay out of debt. Live within your means.
  33. Attend a town hall meeting.
  34. Read your state constitution.
  35. Attend a rally, protest, or event to fight for a cause you believe in.
  36. Organize an event to educate.
  37. Know what precinct you are in, who your committeeman is, and where you vote.
  38. Educate your elected officials on your concerns through the sharing of concise facts and real experiences.
  39. Run for an elected office or serve on a committee.
  40. Support good elected officials that share your values with your time and resources. Recruit people who you trust to represent you at all levels of government.
  41. Apply to be a poll watcher or poll worker.
  42. Look at your county, city, school, and state budgets and provide input.
  43. Look at the state executive budgets and provide input on spending.
  44. Treat everyone as an individual, don’t stereotype or group people.
  45. Help a candidate that shares your values through the use of a special skill set you may have.
  46. Register to vote.
  47. Vote.
  48. Stop complaining about politicians that are outside of your jurisdiction.
  49. Help an elderly or handicapped person get to the polls.
  50. Spend a few hours a week with someone under the age of 25 and mentor them.
  51. Research your current local elected officials and understand their voting record on all issues.
  52. Do a records request to get information on government actions, government contracts or memorandums of understanding for regional agreements.
  53. Understand the importance and difference between primary and general elections and share that information with two other people.
  54. Understand how long the terms of the elected officials in your area are and when they meet.
  55. Join a special interest group or political party that promotes a policy or cause you care about.
  56. Home school your children.
  57. Read the Declaration of Independence.
  58. Work on talking about politics or religion in a respectful way.
  59. Attend local meetings: city council, county commissioners, library taxing districts, etc.
  60. Volunteer at a local charity and meet new people.
  61. Rely on various legitimate media sources to inform yourself on the issues and performance of elected officials.
  62. Read a book on history or civics. History will repeat itself so know and understand it.
  63. Respect others thoughts and decisions, even if you do not agree.
  64. Write a letter to the editor about an issue that concerns you or a candidate you support.
  65. Sign wave for a candidate.
  66. Help register a new voter.
  67. Trade, barter, or share your skills.
  68. Put a political sign in your yard.
  69. Learn the structure and role of a state agency. There are plenty to pick from in Idaho! 
  70. Try to help yourself with an issue before running to an elected official (government) to fix your problem.
  71. Attend a planning and zoning meeting and look at your county zoning maps.
  72. Compare an elected official’s or bureaucrat’s words with his actions and demand an explanation if they conflict.
  73. Speak the truth.
  74. Stand up to bureaucratic bullying.
  75. Encourage your church leaders to teach the whole Bible and address civic, cultural, and political issues.
  76. Don’t be afraid to question comments, actions, or policies from elected officials or bureaucrats.
  77. Understand “Critical Race Theory”, how it is destroying our country’s foundation and why it is being taught in most of our law schools and government run schools.
  78. Educate yourself on who is influencing a candidate’s platform or voting record by looking at their campaign finance reports at the Secretary of State’s website.
  79. Publicly expose corruption and crony capitalism any time you encounter it.
  80. Put a bumper sticker on your car to promote an issue or candidate.
  81. Strengthen your local neighborhood by focusing on issues you agree on, not disagree.
  82. Don’t be discouraged when you realize how upside-down government is. Be patient and learn the process.
  83. Try to focus on the system of government as much as you focus on the issues in government. The system needs maintenance!
  84. Learn to navigate the legislative website to email or call your legislators to let them know how you want them to vote.
  85. Build a relationship with a veteran and share their stories with others.
  86. Help organize a homeschool co-op or alternative leaning center or donate your location for use.
  87. Don’t get bullied by a bureaucrat. Stand up. #EndBureocraticBullying
  88. Don’t ignore the little battles, stand up for what is right.
  89. Push back on government overreach and do not submit to tyranny.
  90. Remain vigilant.
  91. Learn to be self-sufficient and provide for others.
  92. End your support for businesses who don’t share American values
  93. Understand what administrative rules are and how you can change them.
  94. Understand how to influence your elected official.
  95. Start being the leader you have waited for.
  96. Simplify your message to bullet points.
  97. Promote healthy conversations and debate.
  98. Offer solutions, not problems.
  99. Donate a book of stamps to a candidate or help them stuff envelopes.

100.  Write a bill to change or eliminate a law.

101.  Know what the law says and where to find it.

102.  Understand the limitations and the authority of the elected official you are asking help from.

103.  Visit your courthouse and sit in on a few trials to better understand the judicial system.

104.  Establish your credibility by offering good, truthful information.

105.  Defend our country.

106.  Report disrespectful treatment by government workers to their supervisors.

107.  Let government officials and bureaucrats know when they are doing a good job.

108.  Don’t complain about things you are not willing to work hard to change.

109.  Stop waiting for someone else to tell you what you should be doing, take initiative, and lead.

110.  Pray for our country and state and our elected leaders daily.

 

Ultimately, we are the government, and we will get the government and society we allow.  We owe it to our founding fathers, our veterans and our families to do everything in our power to avoid violence or a civil war.  What will we give to the next generation?

More Victories! Ripon, CA Challenges SB 54



More cities up and down the state of California are bucking the statist Democratic Party in Sacramento. They are demanding restoration of the rule of law at all costs.

Check out what the city of Ripon, in San Joaquin County, has just done!

 
Members of the Ripon City Council Tuesday agreed that illegal immigration is a federal matter.
They were unanimous in voting to authorize City Attorney Thomas Terpstra to join in the “amicus curiae briefs” — otherwise known as “friends of the court” to those not a party to the litigation — in backing the federal government’s legal challenge to the California Values Act also known as Senate Bill 54.



The movement is growing. Cities big and small are tired of getting pushed around by the lawless lawmakers in Sacramento, along with the brazen open border bigots who want everything handed to them from the hands and mouths of the taxpayers fighting to stay afloat in this overpriced, overburdened state.

Ripon now joins a small but growing list of cities and counties throughout the state in supporting the federal government’s lawsuit against California’s Sanctuary State decision.
SB 54 has extended local protections for immigrants living in California without legal documentation.

The list has gotten much larger. Not only that, but readers in the region are demanding that Manteca step up and join the list, too.

Council also voted 5-0 to support the Reducing and Keeping California Safe Act of 2018, which is a petition circulating that could be on the November ballot.

Cool!

Restuccia, meanwhile, requested that his colleagues express their intent to comply with federal immigration law, in particular, when it comes to public safety.

Council took an oath to support both federal and state government, he noted.

The California Values Act bans state and local police agencies — excluding the state Department of Correction and Rehabilitation — from enforcing holds on people in custody. It also blocks police from being deputized as immigration agents and prohibits local officers from inquiring into one’s immigration status.

That is wrong! Since when does any state pass a law which endangers law enforcement and law-abiding citizens? This is crazy!

Only one guy would think that this is acceptable:



Ripon Police Chief Ed Ormonde said his officers would have been “torn to protect and serve.”
“There won’t be a tie-up with our police working with other agencies in keeping our streets safe,” Councilman Jake Parks said.

Council made that clear by throwing their support behind federal law.

This is all great news.

GREAT NEWS!

I am so happy to see the rule of law winning out all over the state.

We need to see more victories, however, and we need more counties to get a backbone and stand up to Sanctuary State lawlessness!

YouTube Anti-Free Speech: Community Strike for Hate Speech

Here we go.

After coming off fresh victories in Orange County, first at the Board of Supervisors, next at the City of Mission Viejo, I just received a community strike.

It's a joke for YouTube to claim that they support free speech, but condemn hate speech.

Speech is speech. All this talk about "hate speech" is a hollow fraud to justify shutting people down simply for saying things that people do not agree with or do not like.

Deal with it.

This is outrageous.

I have filed an appeal, which will be rejected.

But it's time to migrate away from YouTube next. We need different applications which will allow us to record events live and post them for everyone to see.

Civil Disobedience: American Citizens Take Back Their Rights in Sanctuary City

                   

In addition to our-numbering the illegal alien enablers in the November 7, 2017 Huntington Park City Council meeting, we also reasserted our rights to show support for our fellow activists when they addressed the city council.



We applauded during public comment as we saw feet. It is wrong, it is abusive for an elected official to announce that men and women in the audience cannot clap or laugh to show support.

So, we decided to take back our freedom. It is outrageous that this kind of abuse continues unchecked. It has to stop.

We Trump supporters, anti-illegal immigration activists demand the rule of law, and that means that men and women in elected official cannot squelch our natural rights or stomp on our freedom of speech.

For Americans to Succeed, US Senate Must Reject the Covert Amnesty "SUCCEED" Act

Earlier today, Sens. Thom Tillis (R-NC) and James Lankford (R-OK) unveiled a broad amnesty for MILLIONS of illegal aliens as a legislative "solution" for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). Their bill, the SUCCEED Act, would cover three times as many illegal aliens as the DACA program and provide a path to citizenship. Also, the bill contains no immigration enforcement provisions. It is a clean amnesty - plain and simple.

After the election of a president who ran on the promise of real immigration enforcement, these Republican lawmakers have abandoned any pretense of support for sound immigration management and the rule of law. They must hear your voice loud and clear.
Call Sens. Tillis and Lankford and tell them you OPPOSE their massive amnesty bill - the SUCCEED Act.

Also remind them that President Trump was elected on a mandate from the American people to put forth a multi-pronged plan for immigration enforcement and legal immigration reform, which includes:
  • Passage of the RAISE Act, which will move the nation to a merit-based legal immigration system;
  • Senate passage of Kate's Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, already passed in the House with strong bi-partisan support;
  • Construction of the border wall;
  • Increased interior immigration enforcement;
  • Mandatory, nationwide E-Verify.

Anti-Social Media: Anti-Semitism and Censorship on the Rise

Social media has become the boon and the bane of our political culture. Conservatives have a new, profound voice to go around and take down the media like never before. Overcoming the liberal chokehold of the liberal mainstream media, we the conservatives, the constitutionalists, the consistent libertarians are punching away at the stale, imposing media narrative. We got tired of hearing how great Barack Obama was, especially when Breitbart, Townhall.com, and the rest reported how untrue the narrative turned out to be.

Besides, when illegal aliens have taken your job or killed your kid, there is no amount of media-driven propaganda that can regain your trust or assure your confidence in the liberal talking points.
Social media’s bane has become more prominent, too, and in ways that I had never expected. First, let me address the rising Anti-Semitism. I frequently post pro-Israel statements on my media profiles. I do not apologize for being a Zionist, and a vocal supporter of the only stable democracy in the Middle East. Enduring the Obama Administration, I wished that Benjamin Netanyahu were my president. Fortunately, President Trump has forged a renewed, stronger relationship with Israel.

Today, social media explodes with anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist hate more frequently than I care to admit. One of my tweets about Israel induced a unique firestorm of anti-Zionist hate. The hate I have witnessed on social media against Jews is pretty appalling. At Politicon 2017, Ben Shapiro had to address this disconcerting trend. At least we could talk about it, but the hatred of Jews and the attacks on Israel are getting heated and more prevalent. Why? Anonymity and efficiency to spread one’s message could not be easier because of social media. Should we block it? In my opinion, no. The best defense to false or inflammatory speech is … more speech.

Which brings me to the other threat looming over media: censorship. Twice in one week I have been blocked from posting on my Facebook profile. What?! What’s worse, Latinos for Trump like Harim Uzziel and Robert “Latino Heat” Herrera have been routinely blocked from posting their Facebook Live videos, articles, and other daily observations. Why? Illegals and their “law-abiding” amnesty-pandering supporters were reporting their posts, then getting them blocked. Latinos who support Trump detonate the left-wing narrative that opposition to illegal immigration is racist. Uzziel, an outspoken and outstanding Latino for Trump in LA, California, and perhaps even the country--is also Jewish, and proudly so. Are these attacks anti-Semitic, too?



The same censorship applies to Islam. Pamela Geller’s Facebook pagewas shut down, then brought back following a large outcry. On the other hand, a close friend of mine—another Latina for Trump in Los Angeles--reported a Facebook page whose title read as follows: Mexican Pride Group: Kill All White People. The response she received from Facebook? The Community Standards review determined that there was nothing wrong. Really. If you don’t believe me, read the attached photo (see above).

This ongoing censorship and repression of different points of view is not new, but only now is the growing, effective conservative movement taking note and fighting back. First Twitter came for Charles Johnson of GotNews.com. Then they took down Milo’s verified blue checkmark. Then Milo’s Twitter feed was suspended for good over a media battle discussing the crappy feminist version of “The Ghostbusters.” A meandering movie that got poor ticket sales and no reviews led to Free Speech provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos’ Twitter-demise.

And it has gotten worse. Hunter Avallone of Maryland, a post-Millennial taking on the liberal-progressive Pharisees of our day, lost his Twitter handle, too. Paul Joseph Watson, Dennis Prager, and others have reported the subtle censorship of their YouTube videos. Watson’s latest report outlines YouTube’s officious oversight with the left-wing Anti-Defamation League, which has deemed Pepe the Frog an anti-Semitic symbol.

Have we forgotten the leading conservative media lights who met with Facebook leaders to confront their media bias? The conservatives approached the meeting with intentions of negotiating some standard of fairness. So much for that approach. Now social media censorship has gotten dangerously close to home. For the past month and a half, I’ve worked freelance as a guerrilla journalist with Joshua Caplan through Vessel News. I’ve gone places with Facebook Live, exposing illegal alien town halls hosted by our own federal officials, including Congressman Lou Correa of Santa Ana, CA, as well as raucous events in city council meetings and during Trump supporter celebrations.
Now Caplan reports that his viewership reach has been cut down because other Facebook pages are losing their own reach and influence. Caplan had agreements with other Facebook page news sites, but they have recently cut the contracts since Facebook is coming down hard on them. Add to The Gateway Pundit’s lament about Facebook throttling Jim Hoft’s potential reading traffic, you can tell that Facebook has become Fascist-Book.



Within the last 24 hours, I learned that Dinesh D’Souza’s own Facebook was compromised, scuttling his outreach as well as the sales of his new book “The Big Lie,” exposing the totalitarian tendencies of the American Progressive Movement, which infiltrated the Democratic Party leading up to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s administration. They also inspired the Nazis under Adolf Hitler. Of course, this very serious message accompanied that latest update from D’Souza: “I’ve been hearing of this happening to a lot of people, though most often it’s Facebook itself taking their pages down.”


Pretty heavy stuff. For decades, the Saul Alinsky approach of shaming conservatives had successfully silenced the Right. Now that we are bolder than ever to speak, the Regressive Left is working overtime to suppress freedom of speech. If not through violence or the passage of draconian anti-free speech ordinances, they can pressure or assume the leadership over these multi-media platforms and shut down dissent and discourse. Enough. The next leg of the New Right, New Tea Party fight means targeting and taking on these social media platforms. We cannot afford to lose, since we have gained so much already.

Regarding Democrats' and REPUBLICANS' Capped Betrayal of We the People of California

Following the passage of AB 398 and AB 617, the Cap and Trade package with bipartisan support, here are the preliminary remarks I have to share:

1. I am so discouraged. I cannot believe how far gone our government has been taken away from the basics outlined in the Declaration of Independence: Protection of life, liberty, and the pursuit (not guarantee or entitlement) of happiness.



2. Term limits suck. Now I can speak it plainly. They have created a permanent creature class of lobbyists, staffers, and consultants who know more than every elected official who swings through the revolving doors of Sac-Town. Legislators are now little babes who get pushed around and told what to do. They never master the rules and thus govern less and less in accord with their oaths of office.

3. The Deep State of Sacramento runs everything in California now--and it needs exposure and extermination more than anything else. The Bow-Tied One Munger Jr., Big Labor, Big Business, Big Green, Big Homo/Tranny, Big Baby-Kill, etc.



4. The state is too big--or the locus of control for We the People is too far removed from our elected officials. They political creature class gets away with so much because of how far away they are. Yes, Aaron F Park I support the state of Jefferson. I would love for the South Bay to declare itself a free and independent state if possible. Who's with me?



5. "Whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. "

Is it too late for us to rustle up our horses and lassos, rush the state legislature, and tie everyone up? They did that in the last 1880s I believe. I say it's time for another Bear Flag Revolt!

LAPD Alert--Here are 3 Anti-Trump Skaters Who Attacked LA for Trump--Andre Marino, Vincent Nava, and Jaime Almada

Los Angeles County for Trump is going to stump and kick rump wherever we can.

We are not backing down to take back the City of Angeles from the Devils of the Regressive. Left.

On March 18, 2017, after the part the Make California Great Headquarters in Long Beach, LA for Trump went to Downtown Los Angeles to show our support for the President and to protest against sanctuary cities.

In case no one has been paying attention (basically, living under the LA bridge or some faraway rock), the California Democrats who run Sacramento want to turn California into an entire sanctuary state.

No one illegal will ever fear the that the state leaders, or county and local elected officials, will turn the screw on illegal aliens living in the state of California ever again.

Even after some slight modifications to the SB 54, the bill has been blasted heavily by all sheriff's departments throughout the state.

The Democratic Party has officially lost its mind, heart, and soul. One cannot even call them "Democrats" but perhaps Communists/Socialists.

But We the People will not back down.

So, we rallied no the corner of First and Springs Street.

Stop Sanctuary Cities

Sanctuary cities are getting the attention now -- which they should have gotten five years ago, ten years ago. Illegal immigration has boiled to the forefront for the past decade, ever since the Bush Administration tried and drastically failed to pass key legislation that would "reform immigration."

Then as now, the American people want enforcement. Like Senator Ted Cruz announced on the floor of the United States Senate during final deliberations on the 2013 Gang of Eight bill, the American People should not have to barter for security by allowing for amnesty or pathways to citizenship.

All of this is wrong.

The American people have every right to demand that the federal government do its simple job of providing for the common defense!

Here are a few statements about the sanctuary city fight which House Republicans are waging against the amnestarians in the White House and the Executive cabinet:

If I remember correctly, Rep. Culberson (of Texas) threatened to use the power of the purse and cut off money if DOJ didn't make jurisdictions follow the law before sending them grant money. There was some correspondence prior to the hearing which established this. Also, they requested a quarterly report from Lynch to make sure they were following through. That's an easy way to stop the lawlessness. Cut the funding!



Congress loves to spend  money. They are not very good at stopping the spending sprees.

This is the video from the Culberson hearing to take down sanctuary cities and stop illegal immigration.

And this is the statement from Culberson at that committee hearing:

“Sanctuary city policies across the country have contributed to the deaths of thousands of Americans and caused untold suffering. This is unacceptable and intolerable, and it has allowed thousands of criminal aliens to roam freely on American streets.

We need to remember these men and women, these children, these families which have been forever separated.

Who will bring them back together? That son, that daughter is now dead, and there is nothing that man or the state can do to bring those victims to life and back to their families.

“On February 1, I wrote to Attorney General Loretta Lynch explaining that as the new chairman of the Commerce, Justice and Science Appropriations Subcommittee, I believe local and state jurisdictions should not apply for federal money unless they comply with federal law. I asked Attorney General Lynch to change the federal grant application process to require state and local authorities to verify that they are in compliance with federal law, and if they are not, to deny their application.

How about just denying them the money, without Attorney General Lynch's support?

“In response to my concerns, today the Attorney General announced that BOP will release criminal illegal aliens to ICE instead of sanctuary cities.  This is welcome news. If this had been BOP's policy last summer, Kate Steinle would be alive today. I am grateful Attorney General Lynch made this important change, and I look forward to receiving regular updates from the Department of Justice on the progress they are making implementing this new policy.

This should have happened ten years ago. This should have been happening the moment that Barack Obama took the oath of office to become the next President of the United States.

“Second, the Attorney General announced that DOJ can take action against jurisdictions receiving grants when they are not in compliance with Federal law.  If jurisdictions choose to implement sanctuary policies that prevent them from cooperating with federal immigration authorities, they are putting their federal grant money at risk unless they change their policy to comply with federal law.  The Attorney General promised to provide my subcommittee with quarterly reports on their progress on these two new policies, and I intend to zealously oversee their work. I will use every legislative tool at my disposal to help the Attorney General implement these new policies.

Cities are violating federal law when they do not deport illegal aliens.

They are violating federal when they shield illegals from ICE.

These cities are violating federal law when they promote illegal aliens to city commissions!  Did you hear that Huntington Park? We are not going to tolerate this lawlessness. Culberson is demanding an end to these illegal enabling actions.

And so do We the People Rising!

“The new policies the Department of Justice announced today will keep our streets safer by ensuring that criminal aliens do not roam freely in our communities, and prevent federal tax dollars from being sent to jurisdictions that refuse to comply with federal immigration laws.


“I am very grateful to Attorney General Lynch for her leadership in making these vital changes which will save lives and make our streets much safer.”

Our elected officials need to start doing the right thing for all residents, for all CITIZENS.

These expectations are not a small matter. All lives matter, and they will continue to matter when our government takes the rule of law seriously.

My friend also reminded me that while the federal government is taking tighter control of our borders, California wants to open up the borders even further to illegal aliens:

Also of note, California is in the process of passing a bill which would make police departments follow the locality's policies i.e. sanctuary policies. I believe this would prevent what the L.A. County Sheriff Department did (taking a tough stance and enacting as much as they could to cooperate with ICE) in response to the L.A. County Supervisors eliminating 287g. I haven't read the bill yet.



So, what will our local law enforcement do when pressed between the state's laws and the dictates of Washington D.C.? California's lax immigration policies are hurting the entire country.

Enough is enough!

We need to secure our borders. That means a wall, E-verify, more border patrol agencies, a zero-tolerance policy for illegals crossing the border.

From AB 2792: "This bill, the Transparent Review of Unjust Transfers and Holds (TRUTH) Act, would authorize a local law enforcement agency to participate in a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) immigration enforcement program only if it enters into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the governing body of the political subdivision in which the law enforcement agency is located located, ... "

The United States is in a much better position than California, at least from a political standpoint.

Culberson was launching extensive investigations plus demands for enforcement. This year, he was facing a strong primary challenge from Maria Espinoza, the founder of the Remembrance Project. That political threat might have pushed him enough to do his job and demand that the executive branch start enforcing the laws of the land.

It's time to stop sanctuary cities. It's time for cities to b restored as sanctuaries for citizens. Law enforcement officers should not be forced to compromise the safety and integrity of their individual communities. Police officers should be able to lock up and have criminals, illegal aliens, carted off to ICE then thrown out of the country.  If the federal government has to take away the money and power of cities--and states!--for violating federal law and compromising our borders, then so be it.
