Delusional Democrats: Madman Marty Crying About Climate Change

Governor Martin O'Malley (D-Maryland) is still trying to agitate from some kind of relevance in today's national politics.

He was the two-term governor of the Old Line State, where he imposed very liberal policy imaginable. He gave away just about everything that could be offered to illegal aliens. He enacted every gun control measure possible. His reign of progressive policy terror was so bad, that the western half of the state discussed possible session procedures to break away from Annapolis' tyranny.

Mad Man Marty wanted to take his progressive policy agenda and take it nationally.

He was a progressive star, right? Democratic operatives and grassroots activists would support Mary wouldn't they?

Didn't happen.

Martin O'Malley met with only prospective voter in Iowa before the caucuses, and even he wasn't sure if he wanted to vote for him

He was done as soon as the first caucus voters were cast last year in January.

He wants to seem relevant, so he's talking about ... climate change?

Give me a break!

 Friend,

The decision this week by EPA chief Scott Pruitt to repeal the Clean Power Plan was the latest example of an Administration seemingly hellbent on taking our country backwards and recklessly putting future generations at risk.

You don't need to look any further than the extreme weather events of the past few months to know that climate change has a real human and economic toll. The Clean Power Plan was a commonsense and very moderate federal regulation to reduce carbon pollution from existing power plants. Its repeal will expose millions of Americans to dangerous pollutants from power plants, worsen climate change, and for many, affect our very ability to breathe.

And so it's up to our cities and states to fight back - to fight inaction with action. I know the power of state elected officials to make a difference on the environment. As Governor, I signed Maryland onto the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative and signed the state's first climate change legislation, with a plan to cut emissions by 25% by 2020.

The attorneys-general of New York and Massachusetts have already announced plans to sue the EPA over the Clean Power Plan repeal, and we have some outstanding Governors and Mayors leading on climate protection in their own cities and states.

We can elect more this fall. Help me help others who are running in these critically important midterm elections. Together we must do everything we possibly can to ensure we have city and state officials who want to lead on climate, and not those who want to take us backward.

Yours,

Martin

Redondo Beach Rejects CCA Study (More to Follow)

The Redondo Beach City Council meeting was fun--and interesting.

At first, I thought it was going to turn into one of those long-term knock-down drag-out meetings.

After all, most of the contentious issues ususally get discussed at the end of the meeting, when everyone is too tired to stay, or they have already left for the evening because they have to wake up for work the next day.

But in Redondo Beach, everything that needed to be taken care of -- got taken care of in a timely manner.

So, let's go to the Community Choice Aggregation proposal:

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
a.  Receive and file the South Bay Clean Power Working Group’s draft Business Plan and Joint Powers Authority Agreement; and
b.  Direct staff to perform an analysis of the Business Plan, Joint Powers Authority Agreement and the City potentially joining the South Bay CCA program as well as the Los Angeles County CCA program and return with recommendations.

Hermosa Beach is already dithering on this nonsensical idea.

It is the most Orwellian named program yet.

Community Choice Aggregation does not help the community, does not promote choice, and it aggregates power the few, to a select group at the expense of everyone else.

But the city of Redondo Beach if continuing forward with this Big Green agenda, which will not drive down costs, but will put taxpayers on the hook for more government, all while individual cities lose power.

And there is no viable example of CCA actually working.

Two cities have moved forward with studies into Obamacare for the Energy Industry--West Hollywood and Santa Monica. Those two cities are not exactly a ringing endorsement for fiscal discipline or common sense. After all, Santa Monica actually discussed banning toy guns from the city in order to stop gun violence.

Yes, Santa Monica did that. Seriously.

Gary Mlynek and Perry Johnson joined me at the Redondo Beach city councl meeting to protest this very misguided program. I almost left because I feared that too much would pass before I could speak.

But I am glad that I stayed.

The local press were there to cover what was happening. The Beach Reporter took photos of our small team standing up against CCA. We even had signs from the leader against this Big Green Agenda Tracy Hopkins.

Hi, My name is Joe Galliani!
Here are a few videos of the CCA presentation, all from our best friend 350 Joe Galliani:

Here is the second video:

The discussion which followed from the city council was interesting.

I was really glad that Mayor Steve Aspel asked a number of probling uesitons about this program. "Why is Hermosa Beach looking into four different versions of CCA?"

Good question. More importantly, though, why are residents waking up and pushing back against this proposal?

Because the residents recognize that it's costly with no benefit. The city of Hermosa Beach has turned into a $1 million ghetto, in which the sewer system is wasted, the roads need repair, and there is no fire station for the local department.

The residents of that city have had enough.

Councilwoman Emdee shared concerns about the city directing staff to work on reviewing and investigating this proposal. 10% of their time would have to go into CCA review!

That was too much for her.

At the final vote on whether to pursue investigation into CCA, the final vote:

Emdee: No

Sammarco: Abstain -- This was a welcome surprise! I had thought he was going to approve the program, since he is a hardcore leftist.

Brand: Yes--no surprise

Horvath: Yes

The city manager declared that the motion FAILED!

SUCCESS!

Of course, when I confronted 350 Joe about this latest setback to this Big Green scheme, he was not to happy:

He called fat, and claimed that I was gaining weight.

He also called my jacket "a blouse."

Very professional. Then Galliani claimed that he was "a lover."

Huh? The man sounds like a real hate-monger. Why do these "progressives" have to resort to insults and hatred?

Because they are lying. The whole climate alarmism movement and the CCA agenda is based on lies. The science is less conclusive than ever. The polar ice caps which Al Gore claimed would have melted away, have actually gotten thicker. There are a number of historical trend which show increased warming, and then increased cooling trends around the world.

Todd Loewenstein on the Left: "O God, it's Arthur!"
350 Joe in the middle:
TBR Reporter on the right

And the planet is still turning, and there are no polar bears in Manhattan Beach.

Then he resorted to the same left-wing shame tactics, like telling me that I was talking to loud.

FYI: the racist bullies in the South said the same thing to black people when they were fighting for recognition of their civil rights. "You need to lower your voice! Stop shouting!"

To the credit of The Beach Reporter, the journalist on hand asked very serious questions, like how could this CCA program actually lower costs when the program is pushing for more intensity and intervention. "It sounds impractical."

In his usual bullying fashion, Galliani shamed him with "You haven't been keeping up" then proceeded to throw out a bunch of mumbo-jumbo.

Then Galliani started attacking me. Wow, who knew that a bully would not like getting push-back?

Anyway--please feel free to share the video below--and let everyone in the 14 cities around the South Bay know that CCA is facing more setbacks and is a shoddy, wasteful fraud based on bad science.

The Elitist Failure of KQED on Climate Change

The liberal media has not just lost touch with working people. The liberal is not even interested in telling the truth or just reporting the facts. The dedicated, rigorous agenda of the liberal media is propaganda at its worst.

And the blind-sighted arrogance has only gotten worse.

From the Bay Area Public Radio blog KQED:

The title itself is misleading.

What does KQED mean by "climate change."

Are they talking about the four seasons? These are serious and series changes, nothing more. It happens all the time.

Are they talking about the sudden storms which hit the coastlines of California?

The climate alarmists have also forgotten that in 1978 and in 2003, it snowed in Los Angeles! Yes, it snowed in Southern California. SoCal also experienced a mini ice age (of sorts) in the mid to late 1800s.

Does the article give any clarity to the meaning of "climate change"?

So, 2016 goes down in the books as the warmest year on record, globally. And a new report affirms that a “pause” in global warming, often cited by climate science contrarians, never happened. So that should settle this climate thing once and for all, right?

The record for warmest year "on record" is a necessary marker. Compared to what other time? 100 years ago? Two hundred years ago? There has indeed been a pause in global warming, as well as global cooling.

“Wrong,” seems to be the view of many Americans.

The question of how people make up their minds about climate change turns out to be complicated, which helps explain figures due to be released next week by Yale and George Mason Universities as part of the ongoing Six Americas study of climate attitudes. The project’s most recent survey shows that while seven in 10 U.S. adults believe that the planet is heating up, only about half (53 percent) will concede that human activity is driving it, despite overwhelming scientific evidence to that effect.

The planet gets warmer, gets cooler, but the argument that the changes in heat depend on human activity is still spurious information at best.

This passage especially showcases the smug arrogance of climate alarmists, who believe that because of their ivory tower learning, they know more than everyone else, and that the "common people of Middle America" don't know what is best for themselves:

“Government is the Problem”

The impulse to reject climate science goes to the heart of American culture.

“We have a long history of being suspicious about government,” says Oreskes, and for better or worse, the most meaningful countermeasures to climate change require some level of government intervention, such as regulating and taxing carbon emissions.

Individuals should be suspicious of government, since the extension of federal power comes at a great price to our wallets and our morals. The federal government's unprecedented reach into our lives, coupled with corruption, collusion, and waste, have rightly raised concerns for countless millions of Americans in this country.

Climate scientists are not following for this climate alarmism agenda. They recognize that the biggest drivers for this agenda come from government entities, and not independent scientists. Public universities are relying more on taxpayer dollars, and they are doing teh bidding of legislators, lawmakers, and the special interests behind them.

The cooling and warming periods in global history undermine the long-standing arguments of global warming proponents again and again.

Logic, reason, evidence, facts are immune to stations of class, race, of age. It is entirely a matter of fact and evidence, all of which fall under the scientific method, and they are not the exclusive purview of the university, the media, or Hollywood.

The reason why liberal websites and rages like KQED struggle for readers or respect is the utter disdain that the visit on Americans of diverse backgrounds, plus their committed inability to recognize that their liberal talking points are bunk of the lowest order.

OC Register Losing Credibility with OC Conservatives

Mike McGetrick of Orange County--and a key member of We the People Rising, reported the following about the Orange County Register:

Hello all. I get a free Sunday edition of the OC Register.

I don't know why, but I do.

Here is a list of the last four cover stories:

#1 Catholic charities

#2 Climate change with State Senate President Kevin de Leon and Governor Jerry Brown

#3 Welcome Syrian Refugees

#4 Hispanic Christmas Dinner

I can't wait for the next Sunday edition. I can't wait for the OC Register to go out of business.

Reflection

Big media is taking a big hit in its funding and finances.

They insist on pushing this ridiculous, regressive agenda, when all of it is so far removed from the times and troubles of average readers.

Why do they continue to push this nonsense?

The donor class which wants illegal immigration and globalist government has relied on the "mainstream media" to push this false narrative

Perhaps they are gearing their newspapers toward a richer, more left-wing elitist audience, convinced that at least they will read the newspapers. Maybe the corporate owners of the press believe that since they are going to close down, they might as well go down fighting and openly declare their brazen, regressive agenda.

Lo and behold, their circulation continues to dwindle.

The Orange County Register had a distinctly libertarian flavor about it. The editoral and business interests running the newspaper at one time decided to expand their readership. At one time, there was a Long Beach Register as well as a Los Angeles Register.

Both of those experiments failed, and then the company was losing money so badly, they had to appeal to their own writer/administrative workforce to deliver the newspapers.

A new company has taken over, connected with the Los Angeles News Group which overseas the Daily Breeze, the Los Angeles Daily  News, and the Los Angeles Press-Telegram. No wonder they paper has taken a decidedly left-wing tilt.

The OC Register will close down very soon, no doubt.

No CCA in Torrance: Big Green Mafia Don Joe Galliani Wants to SHUT DOWN Torrance Refinery

Clint Paulson reporting the following about the city of Torrance's ongoing effort to pursue Community Choice Aggregation.

It does not promote the community.

It does not provide choice.

And it aggregates power to the few at the expense of the rest of us.

Here is Clint Paulson's report:

Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) Moves Forward

  • The formation of a CCA took another step forward with Torrance becoming the first local City to approve participation in the South Bay Clean Power Advisory Committee. The Committee will solidify plans to create a CCA by forming a local JPA with other cities, work on a business implementation plan, and draft an RFP for financing and the necessary services to create the CCA. According to its website, the South Bay Clean Power Advisory Committee is chaired by local environmental activist Joe Galliani. Galliani has been a leading proponent of creating a CCA over the last several years.

Joe Galliani?!

350 Joe who is all over the Big Green Agenda?

This guy believes that the world is going to melt away under global warming.

This guy is a Big Green Quack!

AND ....

He wants to shut down the Torrance Refinery.

Check out his comments at the U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board in Torrance, California on January 12, 2016:

What is the Torrance City Council thinking?!

The very man who openly declared his hostility to the Torrance Refinery - and science in general - is now heading the effort to force Torrance California into a Joint-Powers Agreement to create a Community Choice Aggregation program!

This action is the most foolish move yet!

This is corrupt and wrong!

Contact the Torrance City Council, and tell them to say NO! to Community Choice Aggregation, and break all ties with Joe "Big Green Mafia Don" Galliani:
