San Diego Union-Tribune Smears Chula Vista Residents as a "Hate Group"

David Hernandez headshot
David Hernandez Smears
Chula Vista Residents as "Hate Group"

Mr. Hernandez (Email --- david.hernandez@utsandiego.com)
                          (Twitter: @D4VIDHernandez)

My name is Arthur Schaper, and I am the Organization Director for MassResistance.

We are the international pro-family group that makes the difference. We set up the press conference at the Chula Vista Main Library on Thursday, August 29, 2019.

We had men and women of all backgrounds, and they were all Chula Vista residents aside from myself.

I read this part of your commentary in one of the articles you wrote about our press conference:

https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/communities/south-county/story/2019-08-30/drag-queen-storytime-moved-to-larger-space-to-accommodate-expected-attendance

As with other similar events across the country, the storytime caught the attention of MassResistance, an anti-LGBTQ organization. The Southern Poverty Law Center has described MassResistance as a hate group.

Are you not aware that the Southern Poverty Law Center is a discredited hate group in and of itself and has been thoroughly discredited?

1. Its co-founder, Morris Dees, was fired for fostering a workplace filled with racism and sexism. He engaged in frequent acts of sexual misconduct against female employees, too.

2. The president of the Organization, Richard Cohen, was forced to resign as well for overlooking and enabling the workplace culture which shut out minorities and women. So did the SPLC legal director Rhonda Brownstein.

3. Former employee Bob Moser (himself politically liberal and openly gay) denounced the culture of hatred and dishonor within the organization, and patently admitted in his article in the New Yorker that the SPLC is not really interested in fighting so-called "hate groups", as much as merely engaging in smears against any group whose views they simply do not like. That is not a digilent organization of any measure, and therefore should not be quoted or referenced.

https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/the-reckoning-of-morris-dees-and-the-southern-poverty-law-center

Brian Camenker

 4. Regarding MassResistance specifically, it is quite offensive for you to refer to this organization as a "hate group." Our founder, President Brian Camenker, is an orthodox Jew who suffered discrimination himself as a youth in Duluth, Minnesota. We have Orthodox Jewish communities in New Jersey and New York, as well as communities of many ethnic backgrounds who work with us. How can you possibly reference such individuals as "a hate group"?

Maajid Nawaz

5. For the record, the SPLC is facing at least six lawsuits for libel, and they were forced to pay a $3.8 million settlement to reformist Muslim Maajid Nawaz for smearing him as an "anti-Muslim" extremist. The SPLC had to issue an official apology, as well. That you would reference an organization which has such anti-Muslim and even anti-Semitic leanings is quite disturbing,

6. Marc Potok, another former employee of the SPLC, openly admitted that their express interest is to smear conservative groups, nothing more. They have no interest in stopping hate, but rather perpetuating it.

7. The SPLC has applied the "hate group" label to every pro-family organization they can. It's a joke. Here is a list of other groups and organizations which have been labeled "hate groups" by the SPLC:

The Family Research Council
The Alliance Defending Freedom
The American Family Association
The American Freedom Alliance
Family Watch International
World Congress of Families

It's completely meaningless and nonsensical.

In short, Mr. Hernandez, your remarks and references to the SPLC that MassResistance is a hate group are libelous. To call a group of committed Chula Vista residents "a hate group" is striking in its lack of professionalism. Mothers and fathers who care about children and their communities does not constitute "hate".

The San Diego Union-Tribue
Thinks These Loving people are "a hate group". Really?!

Furthermore, are you even daring to allege that a black pastor, himself a pillar in the community, Pastor Dennis Hodges, is a hater too? Such writing is completely uncalled for.

That reference to the Southern Poverty Law Center must be removed. It is libelous, inflammatory, devoid of any fact or basis in truth, and completely unprofessional.

Readers in the San Diego area deserve better than this kind of shoddy journalism.

I expect to hear back from you that this matter has been resolved.

My email is arthur@massresistance.org

Sincerely,

Arthur Schaper, Organization Director

RINO-PLAC Fails Continue: No Support for Hispanic GOP Candidates Running in Downtown LA

The massive fails of the Republican Party of Los Angeles Country Central Committee have only gotten worse.

In the last two months, two Republican candidates who had put their necks out to run and represent the brand got wiped out, and no one in the Central Committee gave a damn.

Let's start with David Hernandez.

He ran for mayor of Los Angeles, and was the only Republican on the ballot for the March 7 primary.

He was also the only Hispanic.

And what did RPLAC do for him?

NOTHING.

No endorsements, no money, no aid--nothing.

The Beach Cities Republicans invited David Hernandez to speak:

Did RPLAC even endorse Hernandez?

NOPE.

What about Congressional District 34, the same district which Attorney General Xavier Becerra vacated?

Only one Republican ran in that race to replace Becerra.

RPLAC did nothing for this man.

Nothing.

And Morrison hustled to get support.

He attended the Spring Convention in Sacramento looking for key support.

This kind of failure is beyond unacceptable.

What's the point of central committees if they refuse to do anything for Republican candidates?

So what if they may not win in the race? How can anyone know for sure unless someone at least tries?

Beach Cities Republicans Meeting: February 16, 2017

The Beach Cities Republicans welcomed new members and also saw welcome familiar faces, too.

A number of guests shared about causes they are fighting for in the South Bay and throughout the region.

I invited three LA City candidates running for office in the next two months.

William Rodriguez Morrisson is running for Congress to replace Xavier Becerra, who was appointed and confirmed as the state of California's next attorney general.

His defense and adherence to lawlessness will hurt California, but he will no longer direct or influence federal policy in Washington DC, and we will never have to worry about him serving as minority leader or speak of the House.

Morrison is the only Republican running in the 34th Congressional District--out of 22 candidates. It is more likely that he can slip through to the Top Two, whatever his chances may be following that primary.

Gwendolyn Posey is running for LAUSD School Board, Districst 6. She is a black Republican woman, a triple threat for the liberal Democratic machine of Los Angeles.

Finally David Hernandez of North Hollywood is running for Mayor of Los Angeles.

He is the real deal: pro-second amendemnt, against corruption, fully fledged conservative who wants to Make Los Angeles Great Again!

So, on to the meeting.

We were truly blessed to have new faces, new people, as well as a friend of mine whom I connected with last year just three days after the election!

Wendy Yang, a representative stateside for the Democratic Progressive Party of Taiwan joined our meeting! It was wonderful to see her!

Wendy dining with Congressman Ed Royce

Before our featured guests arrived we had Martha Barbee, who is running for re-election, her first full term as a Redondo Beach City Councilwoman.

Redondo Beach has not gotten as much love and attention as it needs in the South Bay.

The mayor, Steve Aspel, has taken on the public sector unions in the city.

But the actual Republican registration and representation on the city council has hit a number of snags.

GOP activism improved on the city council with the election of Laura Emdee--who had run unopposed!

Then Martha Barbee was unanimously appointed to replace Councilman Ginsburg!

That says a great!

Here are some shots of Councilwoan Barbee addressing the Beach Cities Republicans

Then Dean Cilva, a staunch active Second Amendment supporter addressed the club.

He is working on an initiative to enshrine with full protections the Second Amendment in our state Constitution and culture.

This man worked very hard to stop Governor Brown and Governor Newsom's Gun-maggedon gun grabs.

His team came up short to collect signatures, but they are going to double down and fight all the more now that Donald Trump is our President--and he is prepared to sign national reciprocity of concealed carry licenses into law.

Check out my good friend Harim Uzziel, Latino and Jewish American for Trump!

This man is a social media powerhouse! He gets views and followers from all over the country! Everyone is learning about the hard work that Los Angeles County for Trump is doing to Make LA Great Again!

With his help, our group received 400 more viewers from all over.

It was quite a treat. Thanks for coming, Harim:

Our featured guests are fighting right in the middle of election season right now.

Morrison's campaign for the 34th Congressional district is a special election with an extremely short window of opportunity. One February 16th, a special candidate's forum was called.

He was not able to attend. Same situation emerged for Gwendolyn Posey.

The Beach Cities Republicans wish them both the best.

But the last guest, mayoral candidate David Hernandez, arrived on scene.

He has networked with numerous activists and local groups in the city of Los Angeles.

He has assembled an association with small businesses in the city who have been hammered by the trash collection monopoly. A select number of firms are allowed to conduct their trash collection business in Los Angeles, which in turn has led to higher costs and fees for business owners.

The racketeers invested in this program all donated heavily to Mayor Eric Garcetti's campaign.

Hernandez opposes the sanctuary city policy and is dedicated to cooperating with federal authorities to rid Los Angeles of criminal illegal aliens.

This move would free up LA jails to house local and domestic criminals and keep LA streets safe.

Hernandez is a vocal Second Amendment supporter, and will direct the chief of police to issue concealed carry licenses to all applicants who qualify as soon as possible. Currently, in the state of California municipalities and local law enforcement officials command wide discretion whether they issue CCWs. That must change, especially since a 40% spike in violent crime has overtaken Los Angeles.

Hernandez' efforts with animal rights groups and the anti forced-vaxx groups have increased his following and opportunity for a Top Two upset to challenge current Mayor Eric Garcetti.

Let's wish Hernandez the best and help him in his fight to take back Los Angeles.

New members and a chance for some welcome changes in Los Angeles County--what's not to like!

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate David Hernandez: "As Mayor, I Will End the Sanctuary City Policy"

Pro-legal immigration activist, radio host, and small business owner David Hernandez is running for mayor of Los Angeles.

David Hernandez

If there is any city that needs better angels, it's Los Angeles, a massive municipality overrun with corruption, waste, incompetence ... and pandering to illegal immigration.

One of the most horrendous cases of illegal immigration that I experience took place in the Westlake District. An illegal alien transient named Johnny Sanchez was living in the abandoned warehouse. In retaliation against another squatter, Sanchez set the warehouse on fire.

He ended up murdering five people, four from Iowa, and one homeless man named DeAndre Mitchell, who rushed into to try and save the lives of the other four in the building.

Tierra Stansberry

From Left to Right...
Jerry Clemons, 59, Mary Ann Davis, 44, Joseph Proennke (Williams), 24,  Deandre Mitchell, 36
This is only one of many horrific crimes committed in Los Angeles as a result of the immoral, devastating sanctuary city policy.

Instead of rescinding the policy and submitting to the federal government, pro-illegal mayor Eric Garcetti has sworn to double down on protecting the illegal aliens in the City of Angels, whatever the cost and whatever the price, even if it means the death of more Americans:

Unlike the current crop of elected officials in Los Angeles City and County, Mayoral Candidate David Hernandez vows to end this senseless violence and brazen lawlessness.

The City of Los Angeles Will Co-Operate with the Federal Government

Illegal Alien Criminals will be turned over to Immigration Authorities.

As the City and County of Los Angeles scramble to divert millions of dollars of tax payer monies into a fund to defend illegal Alien Criminals, one candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles vows to take a different course of action.

David Hernandez, a longtime advocate for Legal Immigration, believes circumstances demand that we co-operate with the Federal Government in having Illegal Alien Criminals, who are in the City of Los Angeles, removed from our city.

The continuing dramatic increase in Violent Crime in Los Angeles, up nearly 40% since 2014, as well as the decrease in arrests and convictions during the same period, down almost 9%, clearly demonstrates that we, as a city, must use all resources at our disposal in combating the threat to Public Safety.

The California Trust Act, passed by Sacramento politicians, limits the actions of local law enforcement in holding Illegal Aliens who have been arrested for committing crimes. Hernandez believes we can and will work within the bounds of the Trust Act, and succeed in reducing the criminal element by as much as 10%, if not more, in the City of Los Angeles.

An American of Mexican descent ,running for Mayor of Los Angeles, Hernandez definitively states that this is strictly an issue of Public Safety, not one of race. Those who are in the city without documentation and have not committed any crimes need not be concerned.

David Hernandez, Candidate for Mayor

But those who are in the City of Los Angeles without documentation and commit a Felony or a series of Misdemeanors will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the Law. They will be made available to Immigration Services in an effort to help preserve Public Safety in all communities in Los Angeles.

With the passage of State Propositions such as 47 and 57, and Realignment efforts such as AB109, in addition to the number of former Felons being released into our communities, we have seen a sky rocketing number of property crimes and homelessness in Los Angeles.

Given the overcrowding in county jails, we must make room in our prison system to house criminals legally here in the United States. As no more detainment facilities are being built, we must take advantage of the avenues available to us in assisting those tasked with our Public Safety.

Hernandez states that, “No normal person would want anyone with a track record of committing crimes living in their community, if they can help it.”

A press conference is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM on the south steps of the Los Angeles City Hall, 200 North Spring St., Los Angeles, CA.

Don't Miss South LA/Inglewood Republican Assembly Meeting! -- September 17th, 2016

If you didn't know before, now you know.

The California Republican Assembly opened up another unit in South Los Angeles and Inglewood.

The group is predominantly black.

Surprise, surprise there are black Republicans in the Los Angeles area.

Deal with it, and this unit is dedicated to bringing Angelenos of different ethnic backgrounds back to the Republican Party where they belong.

Pro-Life.

Pro-Family.

Pro-Liberty.

Here's the notice for who and what will be taking place!

Dear South Los Angeles Inglewood Republican Assembly

This notice is to inform you that there will be a General membership meeting on Saturday September 17th from 2:00 p.m- 4:00p.m.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss our units business and hear from speakers. Come and enjoy the fellowship and information.

Senate Bill 1146 Update.

It's a real honor to speak to SLAIRA.

I was invited to their first awards ceremony back in October 2015:

Before that, I worked with SLAIRA to help get James Spencer elected to state senate and then Inglewood City Council. There was a lot of love and support for Spencer in his bid for higher office.

We hope to build on his previous outreach and expand our impact in the South Los Angeles/Inglewood region:

The Black churches rose in strong, vocal protest against SB 1146, a terrible bill which is placing onerous discriminatory requirements. The chief of staff for one assemblyman cursed out Pastor Marc Little of Faithful Central church.

Very sad, and very shameful!

David Hernandez - LA City Mayor Candidate 2017

David Hernandez has his own radio program. He works with all Angelenos to bring good government and local control back to LA residents!

He has helped lead town halls in the East Los Angeles region. He has worked with fellow Republicans on the local Republican Party of Los Angeles County Central Committee. He has also fought hard to protect individual liberties, including freedom of religion!

He's a Republican, but more importantly a dedicated, active conservative who is shaking up elected officials and holding them accountable.

Hawthorne Councilwoman Olivia Valentine
City of Hawthorne overview

Ms. Valentine is a conservative on the Hawthorne city council, a city that is currently 62% Democratic. In spite of the hardships, Ms. Valentine is working hard to bring good jobs and bring back the vibrant economy to the City of Good Neighbors.

Hawthorne California, the home of the Beach Boys and Georgeous George, is turning into another success story. Where crime and mistrust were rampant, especially between the government and the people, a new era of partnership and improvement has emerged.
I look forward to seeing you at our meeting. Thank you.
