LA City Councilman: LA Antifa and Fellow Left-Wing Activists are the Real Insurrectionists

LA City Councilman Paul Koretz

I never cease to be amazed at how things are turning for the better for us, even here in deep blue, deeply depressing Los Angeles County.

The city of Los Angeles has passed more ordinances to push away the homeless from endangering children and parents near schools.

Rick Caruso is building momentum to be a real, law-and-order, pro-citizen mayor.

And now, one of the city councilmembers who voted for the expanded ban on homeless encampments had the courage to call out Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other left-wing agitator hate groups in the city.

Check out what retiring City Councilman Paul Koretz wrote about the hostile, violent, disruptive militants who shut down the LA City Council meeting earlier this week:

On the contrary, Koretz should lauded and applauded for calling out the real insurrectionists in our midst! Not the freedom-loving patriots in Washington DC, who were lured into the US Capitol, only to be vilified, arrested, and deprived of life, liberty, and dignity.

The real insurrection has been gobbling up the peaceful public square from frustrated and outraged Angelenos who want clean streets, safe neighborhoods, and good opportunities for themselves and their families.

Here are the key portions from Koretz' latest fundraising email:

Jane Nguyen, campaign manager for Kenneth Mejia for City Controller, urges people to show up at City Hall and reposts video of insurrection in celebration.

Yes, that is exactly what Antifa and other left-wing activists have been doing all over Los Angeles. They are the true insurrectionists, looking to overthrow good government in LA.

Koretz' team repeats that the school district superintendent and parents throughout the city urged the city council to take swift action against the homeless encampments that were taking up space, building up around the schools:

Parents and school staff have also spoken out in favor of the changes, saying they have observed erratic and even violent behavior on our near school campuses.

This issue bears repeating: Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and other cultural Marxist hate groups in the greater Los Angeles area care about virtue-signaling for the "unhoused" rather than caring for parents and children. Sickening! TRUE INSURRECTION!

Koretz' email continues:

His [Kenneth Mejia's] campaign staff are the same folks that disrupted a Mayoral debate at a synagogue in the Valley, shouting obscenities at Karen Bass, Kevin de Leon and others.

Sounds like insurrection to me.

Mejia is commited to an agenda of shouting down opponents and using divisiveness and bullying to circumvent the normal legislative process.

Kenneth Mejia for Controller? Really? Is this the person we want having the keys to the City Hall?

I really have to hand it to Councilman Paul Koretz. Normally, I would have no interest either way in whoever wins the City Controller spot in LA City Council politics. Not much good comes from the political class of Democrat bureaucrats, career politicians, and activists. However, if Koretz and company are not afraid to call out the Antifa-BLM-Berniecrat-Marxist hordes in the city hellbent on shutting down public comment and civil discourse in the city, i.e. non-stop insurrection, then I say good for him!

Hermosa Beach Residents Slams City Council Cover-Ups on Public Records

October 11, 2021

Paula Montalbo

Business Manager

Hermosa Beach City School District

1645 Valley Drive

Hermosa Beach, CA 90254

Dear Paula Montalbo,

It is illegal for the Hermosa Beach City School District to charge me $893.20 (invoice PR #00001, dated August 31, 2021) for a public records request under the California Public Records Act.  (CPRA Section 6253(b).   It is also illegal for HBCSD to take two months (from July 9, 2021 to August 31, 2021) to provide me with the public records I had requested. (CPRA Section 6253(c)).

On June 16, 2021, I had requested copies of invoices and payments made to GKK Works and payments made to former HBCSD Superintendent Pat Escalante from July 1, 2014 through December 31, 2018.  You charged me $169.60 for public records and I had to wait longer than the maximum 14 days period specified in the California Public Records Act (CPRA Section 6253(c)) for my public records request to be fulfilled.   I paid the $169.60 invoice and patiently waited for more than 14 days as a good faith measure with HBCSD to provide me the public records.   I was wrong to have believed that by working in good faith with HBCSD, HBCSD would work in good faith with me to provide public records.

I have requested public records before, and I know of others in our community who have also requested public records under the CPRA from HBCSD.   At no time in the past have I or others been charged for our legal right to obtain those records.

I have also worked with multiple accounting software systems since the late 1980s.  I know that even the most unsophisticated accounting software allows for easy record searches by date, vendor, payment account, and employee.   I have also had to search through archived warrants or documents to respond to clients document requests.  It is ridiculous for you to claim that it took 12.5 hours to research whether the district ever finished paying on more than $16,000.00 of unneeded/unused invoiced charges from GKK Works from 2014 or to provide me with Pat Escalante’s monthly pay information from June 2011 to November 2013 and from December 2018 to December 2020 per my record request.   It seems obvious to me that the school district is trying to hide information from the public.

I noticed that your letters to me regarding my records request CC’d the school district’s attorney, Mr. Terry Tao.  I believe that the school district’s attorney has advised you to illegally charge me and purposely delay producing my public records requests as a way of discouraging me from requesting documents.   I doubt that either you or Superintendent Jason Johnson would decide to break the law on your own without being prompted to do so by the school district’s attorney, Terry Tao.   Although Mr. Tao has a proven track record of being unethical and corrupt, I would have hoped, however, that Superintendent Jason Johnson would be familiar enough with the CPRA to know that what you and he are doing by charging me and delaying the production of public records is illegal, unethical, and corrupt.   I am disappointed that Superintendent Johnson (and school board members) seem to be hiding behind the school district’s attorney and colluding with an action that at least Superintendent Johnson should know is illegal.

In 2017 I had sent an affidavit and proof of Mr. Tao unethical behavior in collusion with HBCSD Superintendent Pat Escalante to purposely provide the voters of Hermosa Beach misinformation during a public meeting one week before the HBCSD $59 million dollar facilities bond vote to the Los Angeles District Attorney for Public Integrity.   Although it is not illegal for Mr. Tao to have purposely lied throughout his one-hour presentation to the public, shortly after I reported Mr. Tao to the D.A., I believe that Mr. Tao was released from his partner position at the prestigious law firm of AALRR.    After being released from AALRR, Mr. Tao then started his own firm, Tao Firm, and subsequently Tao Rossini, APC.

I had sent detailed information to School Board members with proof of Mr. Tao and Superintendent Pat Escalante’s collusion to provide the public with misinformation prior to the bond vote.   I have attached proof of the misinformation in my email with this letter.

Despite proof that Mr. Tao had provided the voters of Hermosa Beach with one hour worth of misinformation and misleading information regarding the district use of the Community Center and North School for students, HBCSD School Board members choose to keep Mr. Tao as the school district’s attorney at taxpayer expense.   This action proves that HBCSD School Board members actively disregard providing the community with true and impartial information or creating the highest standards of integrity within the district.

I plan to pick up the records that I requested this week.  I will not pay $893.20 for the right to request public records.  I will pay your charge of $18.20 for copies of my requested documents.   If my request is not honored, I will go on record at a School Board meeting with my complaint regarding the district’s illegally charging me for my public records request.

Sincerely,

Miyo Prassas

Complete Statement to Los Alamitos City Council: I Welcome the Announcement to Reject SB 54

My name is Arthur Schaper, a long-time resident of the city of Torrance.

I welcome the announcement and the courage of this city council, their decision to reject SB 54, the so-called sanctuary state law, which in fact is a piece of outlaw legislation, if anything else.

Your decision is not an act of nullification, but a restoration of the rule of law in our state and in the country.

The United States fought a civil war 150 years ago which affirmed that the United States Constitution is indeed the Supreme Law of the Land. Article VI Section 2 declares:

This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.

While the Tenth Amendment is a much-abused and ignored Amendment in the Bill of Rights, it does apply to immigration, which belongs fully to the purview of the federal government.

This action is a much-needed remedy against the lawlessness of the Sacramento Political Class as well as the Brown Nazis who want to steal this land and make it Mexico. The United States won the Mexican-America war from 1846 to 1848. The country purchased the land for $40 million US, which today would be $1 billion. As much as these Brown bigots don’t want to hear the truth, Mexican nationals during the Mexican-America War wanted to become Americans and begged for the American President and Congress to annex the entire Mexican nation into the US.

Furthermore, the American Civil War was not a simple conflict between North and South, but even within the South, pro-Union and anti-Slavery forces seceded from the Confederacy and reasserted their commitment to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Western Virginia refused to secede, and they ended becoming a separate state. Eastern Tennessee nearly broke away, too, and free cities throughout the South emerged, declaring their break with the corrupt, lawless, pro-slavery Confederacy. It seems to me that if the Democrats in Sacramento had their way, they would re-instate slavery against blacks, too!

It is truly a shame that California’s elected officials have put illegal aliens ahead of American citizens. From Kate Steinle to Ruben Morfin, Dominic Durden, Brendan Mendoza, Marcello Bisarello and the average of 25 Americans a day killed by illegal aliens, it’s time for We the People to take back our state and make sure that those lives are not lost in vain.

This is your time. You have not just the opportunity, but an obligation to reject SB 54. I will be urging my city council and every city I can contact to do the same.

Sanctuary policies are complete falsehoods. They do not protect American citizens. They invite drugs, crime, rape, murder. The argument that sanctuary jurisdictions provide protection for illegals to report crimes is absolute nonsense. Crime rates are soaring across the state, and illegal aliens are a large part of this.

Once again, SB 54 is patently unconstitutional. The state of California and every municipality within the state is bound to comply with federal law on this and every other matter, and the city of Los Alamitos is taking the first step to sure that this happens.

Please approve this ordinance, cooperate fully with ICE and all other federal immigration laws and and law enforcement, and Let’s Make California Constitutional Again!

Los Angeles Mayoral Candidate David Hernandez: "As Mayor, I Will End the Sanctuary City Policy"

Pro-legal immigration activist, radio host, and small business owner David Hernandez is running for mayor of Los Angeles.

David Hernandez

If there is any city that needs better angels, it's Los Angeles, a massive municipality overrun with corruption, waste, incompetence ... and pandering to illegal immigration.

One of the most horrendous cases of illegal immigration that I experience took place in the Westlake District. An illegal alien transient named Johnny Sanchez was living in the abandoned warehouse. In retaliation against another squatter, Sanchez set the warehouse on fire.

He ended up murdering five people, four from Iowa, and one homeless man named DeAndre Mitchell, who rushed into to try and save the lives of the other four in the building.

This is only one of many horrific crimes committed in Los Angeles as a result of the immoral, devastating sanctuary city policy.

Instead of rescinding the policy and submitting to the federal government, pro-illegal mayor Eric Garcetti has sworn to double down on protecting the illegal aliens in the City of Angels, whatever the cost and whatever the price, even if it means the death of more Americans:

Unlike the current crop of elected officials in Los Angeles City and County, Mayoral Candidate David Hernandez vows to end this senseless violence and brazen lawlessness.

The City of Los Angeles Will Co-Operate with the Federal Government

Illegal Alien Criminals will be turned over to Immigration Authorities.

As the City and County of Los Angeles scramble to divert millions of dollars of tax payer monies into a fund to defend illegal Alien Criminals, one candidate for Mayor of Los Angeles vows to take a different course of action.

David Hernandez, a longtime advocate for Legal Immigration, believes circumstances demand that we co-operate with the Federal Government in having Illegal Alien Criminals, who are in the City of Los Angeles, removed from our city.

The continuing dramatic increase in Violent Crime in Los Angeles, up nearly 40% since 2014, as well as the decrease in arrests and convictions during the same period, down almost 9%, clearly demonstrates that we, as a city, must use all resources at our disposal in combating the threat to Public Safety.

The California Trust Act, passed by Sacramento politicians, limits the actions of local law enforcement in holding Illegal Aliens who have been arrested for committing crimes. Hernandez believes we can and will work within the bounds of the Trust Act, and succeed in reducing the criminal element by as much as 10%, if not more, in the City of Los Angeles.

An American of Mexican descent ,running for Mayor of Los Angeles, Hernandez definitively states that this is strictly an issue of Public Safety, not one of race. Those who are in the city without documentation and have not committed any crimes need not be concerned.

David Hernandez, Candidate for Mayor

But those who are in the City of Los Angeles without documentation and commit a Felony or a series of Misdemeanors will be dealt with to the fullest extent of the Law. They will be made available to Immigration Services in an effort to help preserve Public Safety in all communities in Los Angeles.

With the passage of State Propositions such as 47 and 57, and Realignment efforts such as AB109, in addition to the number of former Felons being released into our communities, we have seen a sky rocketing number of property crimes and homelessness in Los Angeles.

Given the overcrowding in county jails, we must make room in our prison system to house criminals legally here in the United States. As no more detainment facilities are being built, we must take advantage of the avenues available to us in assisting those tasked with our Public Safety.

Hernandez states that, “No normal person would want anyone with a track record of committing crimes living in their community, if they can help it.”

A press conference is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM on the south steps of the Los Angeles City Hall, 200 North Spring St., Los Angeles, CA.
