This is what I remember about the word Chicano!! Times have changed and it probably means something different to others, but this is what it meant to me then and I learned quick to get away from it!!!

I grew up in the 60's 70's era and I'm telling you that either I was to be a chicano or surfer, you had to choose. Chicano meant you were with the gang members. I got into it in the 6th grade, got out quick because it was boring and all they wanted to do was accuse people of "I heard you were talking about me" and want to beat someone up for it. I started hanging out with the "surfer" crowd. Started going to the beach and living, not hanging out with people who wanted to beat up other people for nothing!

I even knew of a few white guys who were "chicanos" back then! It meant gang members back in the day. But I don't remember the gang members back then waving a mexican flag! It's taken on a whole new meaning, like brown mexican power or something like that!!

Haters Gonna Hate: The "Tolerant" Defenders of Chicano Park (Graphic Language)

The Brown Berets and other racist Brown Supremacists who showed up in large numbers made a stunning political error.

They proved to the world how hostile and anti-immigrant they are.

They definitely demonstrated that they hate the United States and they have no respect for the individual rights of all Americans.

Chicana Service Action Center: When La Raza Turns into La Ladra

Race hustling is alive and well in Los Angeles County.

Sadly.

That's what the race card has been all about, anyway. The Democratic Party has been invested, obsessed with division from Day One.

From 1829 to the present day, the Democratic Party wants to divide and conquer different people based on the race card, the argument that someone is taking away from someone else.

Chicana Service Action Center executives charged in $8.5-million fraud case

For decades, the Chicana Service Action Center received millions of dollars in taxpayer money to help some of the county's most disadvantaged residents: the homeless, the unemployed, victims of domestic violence, foster youth looking for work.

Taxpayer dollars? Wow, no wonder the corruption was rife!

The nonprofit organization also played a pivotal role in launching the political career of former County Supervisor Gloria Molina, who described herself as one of the group's earliest supporters. In the last few years, its influence had gone far beyond its Eastside origins, extending its reach from downtown to the eastern edge of the San Gabriel Valley.

And it's completely corrupt.

The race-hustling is astounding.

Now, prosecutors have charged three of the group's executives with embezzlement and conspiracy, accusing them of participating in a "billing scam" that defrauded the county of more than $8.5 million, according to the district attorney's office.

More public corruption.

Dist. Atty. Jackie Lacey's office alleges that Sophia Esparza, the Chicana center's chief executive officer, used public funds to pay for expensive cars, homes, meals and even a political campaign fundraiser. Roughly $1.8 million went toward Esparza's "lavish" lifestyle, prosecutors say, including season tickets to the Dodgers and Clippers and rent on a home in affluent San Marino.

Wow! Another case of robbing the poor to feed the rich.

The district attorney's complaint says Esparza improperly used $35,000 in taxpayer funds to charter a yacht in Seattle; $81,873 to purchase a 2010 Jaguar in Pasadena; and $145,653 to cover five years' of rent at the Visconti, an apartment complex in downtown Los Angeles. None of those purchases were authorized by the group's board of directors, the complaint states.

Prosecutors also allege the three defendants created "fraudulent records and/or client files" to support the monthly invoices that were sent to the county's Department of Public Social Services.

WOW! This is Los Angeles County, folks, where corruption runs like a river throughout the streets, from the South Bay to the Valley.

This is wrong. We the People of Los Angeles County need to thrown down against this garbage. This is beyond outrageous.

The three defendants — Esparza, Chief Financial Officer Silvia Gutierrez and Vice President Thomas Baiz — are scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Deputy Dist. Atty. Marian Thompson said in a statement that the defendants "tainted the reputation" of a long-standing nonprofit organization and "betrayed the people they were supposed to help."

When will Hispanic voters wake up and realize that the very people who claim to represent their interests are only interested in their own pockets?

They are ripping off poor and working Californians, all to promote their own political leanings and their bank accounts. This is Mexican cartel corruption at its worst. When does it stop?

It's time for Republicans, conservatives, and wise-minded Californians of all backgrounds to stand up to this. The Public Integrity Division is in full force finally in Los Angeles County. Or at least so it seems.

But when will we finally see John Noguez behind bars, too?

We the People Rising vs. CA Sanctuary State De Leon and La Raza Sedition

There is a subtle sentiment among Latino Leftists that the United States is stolen, occupied territory.

I face this fight head-on nearly every day in California, where La Raza agents are neither shunned nor locked up, but lauded like Narco-thugs in Mexican corridos. Or worse, they became taxpayer-funded faculty members in public universities. Instead of sitting back and watching this despicable, communistic Reconquista take away our country, We the People Rising have instituted a Reconquista of restoration. American citizens, taking pride in our heritage and charter, are taking California back.

We the People Rising are making waves throughout the nation, even as we fight the La Raza Left and their pro-amnesty phalanx of voter whores, violent advocates, and militant indoctrinators. We attended a planned “Latino and Mexicano Summit” took place at UC Riverside, with a “Who’s Who” of Chicano activists, all dedicated to turning California a deeper hue of blue, then separating California and the rest of the Southwest into a new country labeled “Aztlan.”

It was basically another anti-Trump bashing seminar, filled with disreputable activists and officials, including:

• Dr. Armando Navarro and Dr. Enrique Murillo: two hard-core anti-American Chicanos. They write textbooks and teach classes openly undermining the legitimacy of the United States. They have returned to the fight to empower “The Brown Giant” to turn California into Mexico, paid with American tax dollars. Please, President Trump, cut the federal funding to California!
• Mayor Victor Lopez of Orange Cove (Fresno County), Councilwoman Blanca Gomez of Victorville, and Felipe Aguirre, former mayor of Maywood. These officials openly undermine their oaths of office to defend the Constitution. Instead, they outlined steps to “help their people”, i.e. Hispanics, particularly illegal aliens. What about the rest of us Americans?
• Two consulate officials from Mexico and Guatemala. Foreign diplomats arguing for the dissolution for this country’s laws? Send a letter to Jeff Sessions immediately, and have them declared personae non grata—then deport them.

The keynote speaker for this summit was none other than the corrupt, lawless President Pro Tem of the California State Senate, Kevin De Leon, the same legislator who had excused illegal aliens for stealing Social Security numbers and using fake IDs. He claims to care about Californians of all backgrounds, but he is particularly obsessed with illegal aliens.

And he’s leading the charge to turn California into a sanctuary state—for illegal aliens, of course.

We the People Rising hounded and booed his every lie. We demanded accountability and respect for our nation’s laws, and a return to national supremacy and state sovereignty. At the end of the summit, we “escorted” De Leon out, reminding him who is really in charge in California. Rest assured, readers. California is not a lost cause. Patriots are fighting back in this bluest of backwaters.

Now that I have reported the events of the “Latino and Mexicano Summit” last weekend at UC Riverside, let me set out a few facts against all the virulent anti-American seditious traitors who hate the United States and label the American Southwest as “stolen land”:

1. White people are not the cause of your problems, you racist activists, whether you have brown skin or not. It’s not the fault of a guy with light skin if you did not get into the college of your choice or that if you are currently working a minimum wage job (if you can still find such a thing in markets with a mandated $15 starting wage).

It’s not “The White Guy’s Fault” if you live in a corrupt city in Southeastern Los Angeles County or some other “barrio” where decades of Democratic Party dominance have created well-entrenched special interests, rampant corruption, and brazen lawlessness.

Want to change the character of your communities? Start voting Republican, and learn the rights that you have as a US citizen. If you are here illegally, leave the country and enter legally. Face it, gente, corruption and illegal immigration go hand in hand. Want to stop the corruption? Fight for secure borders, the rule of law, and the pre-eminence of American citizens in their own country.

2. The United States did not steal land from Mexico. The Mexican Cession of 1848, otherwise known as the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo, strictly outlined that the United States government was purchasing Mexican territory from the Rio Grande all the way to the Oregon border.

It was bought and paid for with the equivalent of $1 billion (that’s with a “B”) from the United States Treasury. The United States Government would pay another $15 million for the strip of land now located in Southern Arizona and New Mexico. The Mexican government got better on the deal, no doubt, since much of the Cession remains uninhabited land to this day.

3. The Europeans did not wage Indian genocide. True, the great biological exchange turned out very badly for the native populations throughout the Americas, but please spare me the "white guilt" card.

4. If it weren’t for the European settlers, the indigenous tribes would have wiped themselves out. La Raza historians (actually, dystopian myth-makers) won’t recount these and other sordid aspects of Meso-American history:

a. Human sacrifices. The Aztec Empire sacrificed people every day just to keep the sun shining. What a bloody theology.

b. Tribes throughout the Americas engaged in rampant theft, pillaging, and mass murder against one another. They also polluted the environment.

c. Yes, Indians sold and traded land. There were constant land-swaps whether by trade or by force (ownership is greatly disputed, then).

d. Anyone born in the United States qualifies as a native American, thank you very much. And that includes me. So, please stop telling me to “Go back to Europe.” It just makes you look silly.

e. A small band of Spanish conquistadores could not have taken down the Aztec Empire. The many Indians under tribute (and facing certain death) joined with the Spanish to defeat the Aztecs.

A simple “Thank you” to your European ancestors would be nice.

Deal with it, La Raza: there will be only one Reconquista, that of the American people.

Chicano Activist Armando Navarro: "Fuhrer" Trump Wants to Exterminate Brown People

Armanda Navarro is a Professor Emeritus at UC Riverside.

Here's a sampling of all the books that he has written:

This Navarro guy is a marxist radical who hates free markets and Western Culture.

He was one of the summit organizers for the Latino and Mexicano summit at UC Riverside.

A host of corrupt officials, including Blanca Gomez of Victorville, CA and Chris Garcia of Cudahy.

It was incredible how much anti-American, anti-Trump, and anti-Western bile came out of his mouth.

"In my years of organizers, we have seen many crises. We have fought many battles."

They are comparing their parades and temper tantrums with our men and women in uniform who fought for this country? How many of these La Raza Nativists have spilled blood for this country?

Probably few, and those who suffered bodily harm were committing a crime.

"The burning isue that ignited the flames of our organizing throughout the state [of California] was immigration. Those coming battles over immigration were predicated on the whole issue of the demographic transformation that was beginning to take place in the early 1970s."

Navarro is talking about the rising number of Latinos in the state of California.

"With the mubers that we have,toda, the battles that were foughtin the 1970 80 and ear, our overcome today by an increibdle reality, that we hae not fae as a people lor as aoucnyt.

The reality of a Trump administraiton, that has clearly used us as Mexicanos as the scapegoats for the many issues and the problems that this country has ..."

Then his rhetoric took on a new, heated, insane turn, something that I could not believe I was hearing on a college campus, funded by Californians' tax dollars:

"And essential by criminalizing us, he has won an election in November last year. And now he has put in motion what I call "The Rise of the Fourth Reich."

Yes, Navarro begins comparing the Trump Administration to the Nazi regime, which killed 6 million Jews and 7 million other "undesirables".

Classy--yet the epitome of Fake News. That is shameful what Navarro did. For him to talk like that, to compare our PResident, who was duly elected throughout our COnstiuttional process, as akin to a mass-murdering megalomaniac, is just offensive.

"Mr. Trump, from my perspective, I would call "Fuhrer Trump."

So, how many Jews have been arrested, rounded up into concentration camps and then systematically murdered?

How many countries has President Trump invaded? What ministry of propaganda is working in his favor to promote a series of lies about current events in the United States as well as around the world? These sloppy, meaningless comparisons of Trump and Adolf Hitler are beyond outrageous.

"Why? Because essentially, his election, his success ... knowing the realities of a Trump administration, about what it meant for us, on the immigration issue, the construction of a wall, what i call  "The Cactus Curtain", which is another word for an iron curtain ..."

Now Navarro is comparing Trump to the Stalinist Soviet premiers? This man claims to be a historian, yet commands such a weak, even fraudulent knowledge of history.

"The divisions he is creating. The polarization he is creating, witht the idea that he is going to deport massively 12 million undocumented, that he is not only going to deport these 12 million, but that he is going to create an ethnic cleansing process to halt the Remexicanization of the West, and the Re-Latinoization of the US."

So now Trump is Slobodan Milosevic?

Wow, these absurd allegations would be funny, if they weren't comng out an earnest man's mind and mouth.

"What you see here is a reality of the future. Brown folks are soon to become the majority. We are 40%.  We have 40% of the staate operation."

I shouted out that I am kind of brown, too since my skin has been in the sun.

Then another uestion comes to mind. For all Navarro's talk about Trump supposedly trying to wipe out Brown people, he then claims that Brown people are wiping out everyone else.

Who's the one engaging in ethnic cleansing, then?

"Time and history is on our side."

Sounds more and more fascist every time he opens his mouth.

"The numbers are there. And that's why Armando Navarro said "Something has to be done to move the Brown masses of people to confront Trump and what this man represents."

What doees he represent, exactly? Nothing in line with anything that Navarro blurted out to the audience. Of course, he claimed that all "brown people" are in a state of war and they need to know how to respond.

He then mentioned how he wanted to awaken the Latino-Mexicano giant. More ethnic chauvanism, huh?

Then he started to praise himself as the best organizer in the room. I think that Barack Obama get the awawrd for orginanzing people better than anyone else. For all his organizing, Navarro could not awaken that Brown Giant all the speakers were talking about at this summit.

In fact, 30% of Latinos actually voted for Trump! Furthermore, many Latino Leftist were disaffected with the Democratic Party from the primary to the very end. They wanted Bernie, and refused to vote for Crooked Hillary. Obama had lied to them when he had promised to provide some kind of amnesty for the illegal aliens in the country--and he refused. In fact, during the first two years of his administration, Obama did nothing, even though he had strong majorities in both chambers of Commerce includinga  filibuster proof majority in the United States Senate.

Blame Obama for not getting amnesty, Latino Democrats!

Then came the most offensive remarks out of Navarro's mouth:

"We are under a state of siege. Literl as the JEws in GEmraon were uner a stage of seg under hIlt, wer are aunder a state of eisgn under Donald Trump..

Janice Montgomery blasted Navarro for such an offensive, insensitive, false comparison: "Don't say that! I have relatives who died in the Holocaust!"

Final Reflection

Who are the real racists here?

Is it the Trump supporters, who brought a wider spectrum of racial diversity, or the Latino and Mexicano Summit in which the leaders and the guest speakers spent more time promoting "Brown Power" and Chicanos, while mislabing President Trump a protype of Adolf Hitler.

The rhetoric was ignorance, hateful, and full of falsehood.

This is the kind of "education" that young people are enduring in college. And it's time to stop it.

Contact Prof. Navarro's office, and demand that he stop fomenting anti-American, non-Chicano hate.

Kevin De Leon's "Brown Power" Summit: The Good, the Bad, and the Just Plain Lawless

State Senate President Pro Tem (Senator) Kevin De Leon is ambitious yet corrupt politician.

He current serves himself as the master of ceremonies and seriously bad legislation in Sacramento's state senate. Rumors have it that he is plotting a bid for the United States Senate, particularly if incumbent Dianne Feinstein decides not to run for re-election.

Sure, she looks busy and gives the impression that she wants another bid, but with the rising left-flanking attacking her fairly "conservative" views on national security and public safety, as well as her general corporate voting record, she might be vulnerable to challenge on her left.

So, as anyone would imagine, De Leon is working swing districts in Southern California as well as liberal bastions throughout the state.

The moment that We the People Rising arrived for the event, we met fierce yet subtle opposition against our being there:

Notice how they kept moving where the line would go.

They said that they would bring coffee, which eventually arrived.

Of course, we are following a clear protocol for peace, but we keep getting pushed around by La Raza Nativists who are more invested in undermining our laws and turning America into another Latin American dystopia.

Sorry, but I am not going to stand by and watch these Brown Power racists lie to their children and the entire country with this lie of "America Stole It".

A few media organizations showed up, including PBS Latino, the same as the reporter who had followed us at the Xavier Becerra Town Hall two months ago.

The press is liberal and biased in such an incomprehensible manner. The reporter actually uestioned me to confirm that President Trump had referred to all Mexicans as rapists and murderers, which he had never done.



But the truth remains, that Mexico is not sending their best people, in that illegal aliens from Mexico are not the best people. The best people obey the law and enter legally, or they fight for their country ... in their own country.

Despite the growing restlessness from the people surrounding us at the event.

Some of the people there were looking at us funny, and then more of them were recording us.

We the People Rising remained undeterred:

At this point, it got really crazy.

One of the organizers announced that we needed to move away from the wall, so that we wouldn't make any noise. Yet within five minutes, a line of elderly men and women showed up with pictures from the Bracero days.

Why were they allowed to ine up? Were they going to go in before us, or prevent us from entering?

Nothing was going to stop us.

We the People Rising did make it into the auditorium.

With our "Fire De Leon" signs ready for all to see, we made our intentions very clear.

Our atetendance was all about holding the corrupt, arrogant, lawless State Senate President accountable for his actions.

How could any lawmaker claim to represent or care for the needs of constituents by advocating for the flagrant disregard of federal laws?

The meeting featured a "Who's Who" of brazen La Raza radicals, including Professor Emeritus Armando Navarro, a fervent believer in the whole "Brown Pride" Chicano Power nonsense.

The older gentlemen in front of me were plenty furious.

That's not my problem -- that is not the problem for any freedom-loving patriot who stands by the rule of law and will fight to ensure that our rights, and our wonderful American political culture stand the test of time.

No Raza, No KKK, No Fascist USA!

The content, the comments in these videos just exceeds description. You have to watch the videos and hear the outrageous, offensive, and just plain officious remarks for yourself.

Some notably notorious Chicano council members attended this summit, preaching to the less than stellarly attended audience how to break federal law.

The speakers included the former mayor of Maywood, the same city which went bankrupt, and cost the city its police department as well as its full-time city staff. The current city councilmembers are just as corrupt and self-serving. They claim to care about the well-being of their "community", when all they really care about is ... lining their own pockets.

Then Blanca Gomez of Victorville spoke.

She was nervous and blushing. She should, since she engages in self-promoting lawlessness, all while trying to introduce santuary city perversities.

Then the consul for Guatemala spoke to us. He claimed that 60% of Guatemalans in the United States are illegal?! Or did he claim that in Guatemala, 60% of the people living in that country are illegal.

The point remains, however, that foreign nationals should not aid and abet the violation of our immigration laws.

The lies coming out of these alternative fact-ivists was just too much!

Every left-wing talking point imaginable came out of their mouths.

At one point, a lady sang some corridos (or cantos) about the bracero life.

Of course, the underlying current of all of this Brown Power hoopla ended with blaming "white" people for all the problems of the world, then taking California away from the United States to form somme new country called "Aztlan".

We need to hustle and reach out to young Hispanics as soon as possible. This is a rich, wonderful country, one not based on theft but rather on God-given rights and respect accorded to legal residents based on a covenant of citizenship. Why do these La Raza haters have such a problem with all of this?

Why?!

The Brown Power bridage with their berets were particularly unhappy with us, but so what?!

Open Letter to Sec. of Interior Ryan Zinke: Rescind National Historic Landmark Status for Racist, Anti-American Chicano Park

To the Secretary of the Interior and Attending Staff:

At the last minute, in a rush of midnight appointments and designations, President Obama had Chicano Park, an activist locale celebrating anti-American sentiment and national sovereignty, designated a national monument.

This park contains murals celebrating pagan ideologies and racist themes throughout.

It's a dedication to anti-American sedition.

And yet, within three days before Obama stepped down from office, former Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell designated the property as a national monument notwithstanding, even though Congressman Juan Vargas (D-Imperial County) had submitted legislation for that purpose, which failed to pass the US Senate last year.

Please, for the honor and integrity of our borders and our nation, I ask Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke to rescind the National Monument status granted to Chicano Park in San Diego County, California.

Rep. Vargas Chicano Park Hustle Failed (TOLD YA SO!)

I received conflict reports from staffers of the San Diego/Imperial County Congressman Juan Vargas' office and activists in Southern California who are concerned about illegal immigration.

The House passed on a voice vote during the final hours of the 114th Congress a bill which would have designated the racially charged Chicano Park as a national landmark. Yes, the bill passed with unanimous approval, but I was convinced that the legislation would face an uphill battle in the United States during the second week of December and final week of debate. The Democratic US Senators were fighting to push a government bailout for miners' pensions, but the measure failed. Democrats did not have the votes or the backing to enforce a shut down of the federal government, especially since the House had closed up for the winter recess and would not return until the next legislative session.

Then other sources were telling me Chicano Park could receive National Monument status with the stroke of pen from the Secretary of the Interior. There was still time for executive cabinet heads to do something.

So, what was going on?

Then I got more good intel.

Roger Ogden then writes:

One Christmas present came late this year.  It turns out Arthur Schaper was right.  We have to admit it, but it doesn't pain us too much. ;-)  It seems the House and the Senate had to approve the Chicano Park Preservation Act.  It was passed by the House.  The National Park Service told me that all that was required was for the Secretary of the DOI to sign the designation approval.

What a shame for San Diego art lovers.  (sarcasm)  Good luck, Representative Vargas getting that anti-American, glorified graffiti designated as a National Historic Landmark during the Trump era.  Nice try.

And what's the final nail in the coffin?

Rep. Vargas's own press release:

Washington, D.C. (January 4, 2017) —Yesterday, Congressman Juan Vargas (CA-51) reintroduced the Chicano Park Preservation Act (H.R. 199) in the U.S. House of Representatives, continuing the efforts to designate Chicano Park as a National Historic Landmark.

Notice the different bill number. 

The first bill died, folks. Simple as that.

“Chicano Park is a center of cultural history in San Diego and we should continue to advocate for it,” said Rep. Vargas. “The story of Chicano Park is important to the people of our community. It highlights years of community accomplishments through activism and it deserves to be preserved for years to come.”

Excuse me? What about  centers which preserve and celebrate American history? Chicano ideological views are anti-American, pro La Raza, or "racist."

The Chicano Park Preservation Act passed in the House last December, but the bill was not considered by the U.S. Senate before the conclusion of the 114th Congress. This bill instructs the Secretary of the Interior to conduct a thorough study of Chicano Park in order to evaluate its national significance and determine the feasibility of the park becoming a National Historic Landmark.

The bill didn't make it. HA! HA!

Chicano Park? You're Fired!

The park is located under the San Diego-Coronado Bridge in historic Barrio Logan, a San Diego community with a heavy population of Mexican Americans. It is adorned with murals, sculptures, and beautiful landscaping. In 1980, the park was designated as an official historic site by the San Diego Historical Site Board. In 2013, Chicano Park was listed on the National Register of Historic Places due to its association with the local Chicano civil rights movement in San Diego.

"Chicano Civil Rights?" WHAT?!

SONSanDiego Follows Up on HR 3711: Chicano Park Bill is DEAD!

SONSanDiego sent me the following update, as he was not sure that the Chicano Preservation Act, introduced by Rep. Juan Vargas (D-El Centro) was in fact dead: 

I called the House Committee on Natural Resources and they forwarded me to the subcommittee on Federal Land Use to which the Chicano Park Preservation Act was assigned. 

The staff person confirmed that Arthur Shaper is, in fact, correct that the Bill is has to be re-introduced to the House in the next session will have to be approved by both the House and the Senate all over again.  I asked, if that doesn't mean the Bill is essentially dead at this time and he said, yes, that's right.

AWESOME!

This is good news for several reasons. We the People can harangue our elected officials and demand that they respect the wishes of the people they represent, rather than  caving to special interests or hate groups like La Raza.

He said, they had been getting a lot of calls about the Chicano Park Bill.  I asked, "You have been getting a lot of calls?"  He replied, " Yes we've been getting a good number of calls, which is always good to see."  They apparently enjoy getting calls from enraged constituents. Haha.

They would not have to worry about the phone calls if they were not advancing laws which undermine our national character and sovereignty.

So, the Bill died in Congress.  Representative Vargas and the SDUT just declared a empty victory, because it had passed the House, even though it was going nowhere.

It is the most hollow of victories. The constituents in CD-51 should expect more from their Congressman than a bill with no chance of passage, but was merely intended as a headline an publicity stunt.

It was going to die anyway, I guess, but I think we probably made an impression on some of them regarding Chicano Park that maybe they won't forget.

More residents in the San Diego region and throughout the country need to know that section of an American city has been taken over by a rogue thuggocracy dedicated to rejecting United States sovereignty and reimposing a neo-pagan "country" in line with Mexico

Chicano Park is still on the National Register of Historic Places.  Maybe it would be possible to get their name scratched off that list as well.

I would like to see this step taken.

Chicano Park should not be recognized in any form.

The San Diego City Council should rename it Patriot Park!

The Chicanos were trying this year to get the building next door funded as a City Museum.  Some of us contacted the City Council last spring and I think had an impact on that.  The building that was the be the Chicano Park Museum is being remodeled now and the sign out front says "Bay Bridge Community Center."

It seems like Chicano Park is dying.   The generation of radicals that first occupied that land in 1970 is literally dying off.  Ramon "Chunky" Sanchez, who wrote the theme song, died just a couple of weeks ago. 

Any park, any public place in the United States needs to honor our country. If taxpayer dollars are paying for these spaces, then the due minimum for these locations should stress respect and honor for our institutions and our country.

A retired marine informed me that residents are not allowed to fly the American flag in Chicano Park. That is outrageous!

Chicano Park must be closed down or renamed "Patriot Park."

San Diego residents, citizens, and taxpayers should demand better from their elected officials.

Vargas loves to quote Scripture. Perhaps he should reread that passage about perfect love which casts out all fear. He should also reread the passage about honoring the governors above us, which includes respect for our laws.
