The Adelanto Immigration Detention Center, located in the High Desert, is the largest immigration detention center on the West Coast. Last week, approximately 60 "clergy" members traveled to the Adelanto Immigration Detention Center. After they entered the facility, the officials shut down the Adelanto Detention Center. In addition, open border groups staged a protest this past Sunday. Open border activists, state legislators and "clergy" representatives are seeking to shut down all immigration detention centers in California. (Photo by Jaime Edwards-Acton) Copyright Capital & Main Last Tuesday, June 20, which the United Nations observes as World Refugee Day, a charter bus full of clergy, religious activists and lawyers was barred from visiting inmates at the Adelanto Detention Facility, located in the high desert 85 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The intention had been to speak to asylum seekers, green card holders held for minor legal infractions and undocumented immigrants scooped up in recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids. The nonprofit group CIVIC, which coordinates volunteer visits to 43 of the 211 federal detention centers across the nation, unsuccessfully negotiated for over an hour with prison authorities and ICE for us to get in. After holding a short prayer service under the watchful eyes of San Bernardino sheriff’s deputies, the group was told to leave the detention center’s property. As the entire facility was on a lockout status, detainee family members and lawyers were also forced to leave the building and not allowed to meet with those inside, another punishment for the incarcerated. This was only the latest in a series of controversial actions taken by the GEO Group, the nation’s largest privately-run prison corporation that runs the facility. Community Initiatives for Visiting Immigrants in Confinement (CIVIC), is supporting the Dignity Not Detention Act, authored by state Senator Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens). Also known as SB 29, this groundbreaking legislation in California will – Stop local government from being complicit in the creation and renewal of certain contracts with for-profit immigration detention facilities. Make the currently unenforceable national immigration detention standards the law in California. Provide additional protections for detained LGBTQ immigrants. Allow the state to enforce violations of these protections. According to Mother Jones magazine, “29 members of Congress sent a letter to ICE and federal inspectors requesting an investigation into health and safety concerns at the facility” in 2015, after several disturbing inmate deaths. Last year there was one complaint filed for sexual abuse, violence, substandard medical care or other personal violations for every 56 residents housed at Adelanto, according to CIVIC co-founder Christina Fialho. Three deaths have occurred at Adelanto alone since March. While the Obama administration’s Department of Homeland Security last year announced plans to phase out use of private companies to run federal prisons, citing the “inferiority of the private prison model,” according to Mother Jones, under President Trump a $110 million deal was signed with GEO Group in April for a new facility. While parked across the street from the detention center in 110-degree heat, the activists began calling their political representatives to protest the lockout and the apparent retaliation against visiting family members of those being detained. Despite being funded by public tax monies, the privately run lockup is not subject to regulations that oversee publicly run facilities, making public access arbitrary and accountability difficult. However, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-Burbank) and other legislators agreed to investigate the refusal of entry as well as conditions for eight Central American asylum seekers currently on a hunger strike over alleged substandard conditions and violent treatment inside the facility. After a small group from the bus gathered at the doors of the anonymous-looking facility for final prayers of hope and resolve to return and bear witness to conditions at the center, the activists returned to Los Angeles. Up to 2,000 women and men can be housed in Adelanto for indefinite terms, with bail set at between $5,000 and $20,000 — an impossible amount for most being held. According to Fialho, 85 percent of those held at the facility must represent themselves in Immigration Court for pleas for asylum and residency, as they are not provided legal representation. Nationwide, an estimated 42,000 men, women and children are now housed in similar immigration detention centers. As Fialho explained to the gathered volunteers, “Making it visible is key to making it end.” Last week’s pilgrimage participants are now working to spread the word about Adelanto – and the efforts of GEO Group to keep Americans from learning the truth about conditions inside.

Adelanto Protest: Liberal Reporter Called Out for Amnesty Bias

The week is flying by for me, and for many in California.

We the People Rising are raising our voices. We are not going to sit back and watch the state of California descend into inexorable destruction, waste, and chaos.

Donald Trump supporters are emerging from all parts of the state, and rallying against the destructive consequences of illegal immigration. Republicans face an unprecedented set of challenges across the country, including a corrupted, biased media obsessed with crowning Hillary Clinton the next President of the United States.

Illegal alien activists at Adelanto

On August 20th, We the People Rising gathered at the Adelanto Detention Center to show our support for ICE.

The San Bernardino  County Sheriff''s Department informed all of us to stay out of the street and protest, while the illegal aliens and the amnesty advocates would protest on the other side of the street. A small ground arrived within thirty minutes of the protest, which started at 5pm and would continue until 9pm,

I arrive at the event just before it began, and stayed for an hour and a half. The Dia de Los Muertos signs and skulls emerged above a growing crowd. The group was mostly Hispanic, Lots of signs in Spanish showed solidarity with illegal aliens, refugees, and regressive illiberal causes in general.

About twenty people were on our side. 120 people showed up to protest for the illegals.

Why were they demanding the shut-down of the Adelanto Detention Center? Three young illegals had died in the facility. Of course, the rabid Marxist activists were using those three deaths to justify ending deportations and instituting an en masse amnesty. Those three illegals killed in the detention center would not have died if they had not entered into this country illegally. Pretty simple logic, that is if the rule of law matters.

We the People Rising lined up with our posters, our Remembrance Project shirts, and our flags, one of which bore the Evergreen tree and read "An Appeal to Heaven." Yes indeed.

We chanted "We Love ICE!" We were not afraid to support our country and our border control law enforcement. How frustrating it must be for our ICE officials, who cannot enforce the laws on the book because of the rampant lawlessness from the current occupant in the White House.

A reporter began walking around our group, asking why we were there. He offered himself as an impartial observer who wanted to understand everyone's point of view.

Yet within five minutes of his interview with me, I could tell he was pro-illegal and pro-amnesty.

Here is the first part of our interview:

One of the most offensive parts of this interview? He challenged me on the veterans issue, since the men and women who have but their life and their loved ones on the line for this country receive scant attention and care, but illegal aliens receive housing, food, welfare payment living on everyone else's doles. They get free education and health care, while our veterans die on secret waiting lists, too.

The reporter wanted to draw an eual parity between a veteran on a green card that has expired with an illegal alien. If someone who is in this country through legal means has given blood and treasure for this country, I do believe that he or she should not be deported because of bureaucratic entanglements and budgetary snafus.

But that limited circumstance in no way compares with the thousands of illegal aliens pouring across our borders taking advantage of lax enforcement and lavish government subsidies.

Then he compared illegal immigration to ... jay-walking!

I went apoplectic. He was indeed debating me on illegal immigration, and wanted to justify the plight of the "poor immigrants", even though more of them are committing crimes or taking advantage of the government welfare system.

Chanell Temple and I had a real war of words with this "unbiased" reporter.

Chanel lets this liberal reporter have it.

I welcomed this exchange. I also took advantage of the left-wing talking points which paint up the hard and cruel American policy of enforcement without considering that Mexico has a wall along their own Southern Border, and national military shoot at people who try to enter Mexico illegally. Why does a double-standard exist, that the United States cannot control their borders?

The other left-wing talking point about enforcement focuses on how ICE and pro-enforcement advocates are splitting up families.

First of all, it is not my fault that parents put their children at risk and bring them into the United States illegally.

Second, for anyone who wants to talk about separating families, when will the press give due diligence and respect to the thousands of families who have lost loved one to illegal aliens?

Like Tierra Stansberry, who was burned alive in an abandoned warehouse in Los Angeles with five other people. Why? An illegal alien from Honduras named Johnny Sanchez set the fire in retaliation against another transient in the building.

Her mother and father will never see their daughter again. This family will never be reunited on this earth. Illegals in this country can relocate to their home countries then enter the country legally. Those families can come together again, because every member is still alive.

More activists who care about the rule of law, legal immigration, and enforcement need to take a hard stance against pro-illegal forces, especially in the press. The more that they play off of guilt, fear, and emotional personal stories, the more that we have to counter with our more accurate accounts, and remind the public that illegal immigration is not a victimless crime at all.

The rest of the team continued to challenge the reporter for his biased views. Raul Rodriguez of America First Latinos even threatened to have him removed, since the pro-amnesty forces were supposed to protest on the other side of the street.

Other Reports

The pro-illegal crowd started walking around in circles, chanting an end to deportations, enforcement, and the rule of law. We the People Rising continued to chant our support for law enforcement, the rule of law, and our country's national integrity and security.

I liked taking their slogans and throwing them back: "Stop the Hate! We Love ICE!" 

The other side demonstrated hateful, uncouth behavior.

That's a fire hazard, but the local sheriff's deputies did nothing about it.

Final Reflection

120 illegal alien activists lined up along the road.

Only one reporter showed up, and he betrayed his liberal, pro-illegal bias right away.

With more demonstrations like this, the open borders lobby may find out that they have fewer resources and less energy to pursue their perverse agenda.

Men and women of California, and of all backgrounds, will no longer tolerate the incessant attacks on our country's national sovereignty. We the People Rising will be there to push back against the pro-illegal alien forces, and will not relent until they understand this land is our land, and not a land of lawlessness, criminality, and chaos.

Parent Trigger Law Hitting the Target, but Still Way off the Mark

The California State Legislature offered a flawed set of options for parents struggling to enact reforms in struggling local schools. The petitioning parents could have the local school turned into a charter or change the school staff.

The "Parent-Trigger" Law met opposition in Compton, where the school board was able to sue and invalidate the signatures collected.

The parents of Desert Trailss Elementary School in Adelanto initiated their own parent trigger law, yet the same suit which had prevented victory for Compton parents has been vacated recently, clearing the way for the frustrated parents to improve the lot and education of their children.

The parents in Adelanto wanted to exercise greater control over staff and curriculum in the school, but the parents signed onto another petition in case the first petition failed to gain any traction with residents.

The school board permitted parents to rescind their signatures if they disagreed with the means of the method employed by the parent organization to implement much needed reforms per the Trigger Law. The judge presiding in the case argued that parents, once they signed the petition to force the Trigger reforms, could not then turn around and take back their support.

Just as voters cannot run to the ballot box to take back their votes once the tallies have been counted, so it was just for the judge to rule against the school district and in favor of the parent petitioners.

Education reform is sputtering, despite making some headway, because of the diverse political interests which support and frustrate these initiatives. Would it not be better to get politics as much ass possible out of education? When activists scream about education as a "right", the resulting rules, regulations, and rigorous opposition from interested interest groups creates more problems than it solves. By demanding the education be a right that all are entitled to, rather than expanding access and increasing quality, interested parties witness the devolution of curriculum and instruction in the name of equity and fairness.

Voluntary enrollment and a voucher program, two initiatives that would not cost the state or the taxpayers any money, would allow parents and their children to choose the school of their choice (as I am convinced that a large majority of students would still go to school,  even if they had the option not to). By taking away the legal and psychological pressure which forces students to endure difficult and dysfunctional school in many cases, the student moral and professional capacities of instructors and administrators would also improve, as they would not have to contend with oppositional students and parents who do not care about educating their kids in the first place.

The Parent Trigger is hitting the target for implementing comprehensive education reform, but the state of California and the country still have a long way to go from the free and compulsory education which is failing our students and our communities.

Media Fail: Another Illegal Alien Pastor Sob Story (Noe Carias)

First, there was former Pastor  Jorge Ramirez of Oceanside California. He was an illegal alien, but he had lived peacefullly and uietly in the United States.

He was a pastor, he worked for a living, he got married and gave birth to three wonderful children. To top all of that, he was a proud, vocal Trump supporter--even though he could not vote for him--and he told his children to vote for Trump.

Then he tried to file for a permit, and was hauled into immigration court for unlawful presence in the United States. Now he sits in an ICE detention center facing deportation.

As expected, the liberal mainstream media is making a whole bunch of hay out of this story. This poor illegal alien! He was serving this country (?). He's a godly man who never did anything wrong (besides breaking into this country and residing here illegally). He's a Trump supporter, too.

Then, of course, the media underscores his grave doubts about Trump. "I thought he was only going after violent criminal aliens!"

"Poor illegal alien .... pastor! We must allow for blanket amnesty!"

Trump made no such promise, and the new Chief Law Enforcement Officer, Jeff Sessions, has made it clear that anyone in the United States illegally is subject to deportation. As we know all too well, however, the media is decidedly pro-illegal alien. refusing to recognize the lawlessness of the mass immigration problems facing this country, but is decidedly determined to ignore the economic and public safety problems associated with illegal immigration.

During the last week of June and the first week of July, the press and television were fawning over the plight of Pastor Jorge.

No one could ignore the obvious attempt by the media to promote a brazen pro-illegal alien story to promote the plight of the poor, god-fearing illegal alien at the expsne of our nation's laws and national sovereignty.

Of course, the San Diego Union-Tribune, despite their best efforts, could sell the story or pull at heart-strings enough to get people riled up. The fact is that this country, and more importantly the legal inhabitants of the country, have been more than generous--and tolerant. The 1987 Simpson-Mizzolli Compromise included amnesty but also a border wall, which was never built. The American people expected immigration reform which would secure the border, stop the rampant illegal alien crossings, and put the best interests of Americans first.

Now,  CNN is trying to pull at the same gullible public's heart strings. Enter Stage Left, the plight of Pastor Noe Carias, currently on hold in an ICE Detention center in Adelanto. Despite the personalized, pleasant follow-up which features the nice pastor compared to the cramped room.

But this statement stands out:

Carias, 42, is being held at the Adelanto Detention Facility, in California's high desert, for crossing the border illegally in the 1990s.

The guy was caught in 2014, and granted one-year stays to get his status together, but he never did.

And now he's getting deported:

"I've never been arrested by police," he says. "I'm a minister. I have my American citizen wife, being married for 14 years. I have two kids. I support the economy of this country and I paying my taxes. I never commit crime in this country."

Let's start from the last statement. He did break this law. He did commit a crime. He entered the United States illegally. That is inexcusable. Why is it that the United States must disregard its immigration laws, while every other country gets to erect walls or shoot to kill on sight?

Just because someone is a pastor, or served in the United States Military, does not mean that we should just arbitarirly ignore or disregard our immigration laws. These kinds of sob stories are gettin pushed in our faces to give the wider national audience a sense of guilt, or generate disgust with President Trump.

Then again, maybe there's nothing to worry about, since CNN is ranked so low, that Nickelodeon and other rerun channels are getting better ratings.

Carias is one of the undocumented immigrants the administration of former President Barack Obama considered less of a priority, as ICE officers focused on deporting felons. Under President Donald Trump, the policy has shifted.

ICE guidelines now direct officers to "take enforcement action against all removable aliens." ICE has reported that in the first 100 days after President Trump signed executive orders on immigration enforcement, arrests of undocumented immigrants with no other criminal convictions were up more than 50% compared to last year.

There is nothing wrong with our President, the Attorney General, and all attending enforcement officers from the federal level down to the cities enforcing our immigration laws. This pastor had resided in the United States for 22 something years already! How long does it take to become a legal resident? How about becoming a fully-fledged citizen? Not that long, and it's not that hard.

Yet Pastor Noe didn't bother to follow through? What's the reason why? The article does not provide a reason, but ICE gives a reason why this good pastor was actually a pretty "bad hombre":

According to ICE, Carias is "a repeat immigration violator who has assumed multiple identities and nationalities over the years in order to evade federal immigration enforcement."

I wonder if he bought a fake ID or a stolen Social Security Number in MacArthur Park, like State Senate President Kevin de Leon and his corrupt, illegal alien family? 

Then the article takes a particularly racist turn, detailing how the future of the Evangelical church movement is "brown", and that white ministers need to do whatever they can to stop the deportations of this "god-fearing" ministers.

Give me a break!

No wonder CNN is tanking with viewers. Americans by and large want illegal immigration to cease. They also want legal immigration curtailed, and the needs of Americans placed first. The United States of America cannot be the Battered Women's Shelter of the World. We have untold millions of Americans who are out of work, homeless, in foster care, orphanages, in need of dire medical attention.

Besides, when will the liberal mainstream media report on the long-term damage done to this country because of illegal immigration? When will they sit down and learn from Kate Steinle's parents? What about Angie Morfin, or the millions of other Americans whose family members have been killed by illegal aliens? The lop-sided, pro-illegal narrative is just sickening, and the idea that American audiences will fall for this "Illegal Alien Pastor" sympathy card is truly disgusting.

Parent Trigger Rises in the Mojave

Parents have a right to send their kids to a quality and qualified school.

No other school could be so unqualified as Desert Trails Elementary School in Adelanto, CA, part of the Adelanto Elementary School District, which according to a recent report from LA WEEKLY scored a "1" in on its API last year.

The parents have had enough. They are taking advantage of the California trigger law, which would allow them to take over the failing school, hire new staff, and set the school going on a new mission, a new agenda.

Parents deserve choice, not conflict. Instead of attempting to empower parents to take over the unwielding and inflexible bureaucracy of a school district, the state of California should simply permit parents to enroll their students in whichever school they choose.

The Daily Bulletin, located in Rancho Cucamonga, published an editorial in support of street vendors and then highlights the recent apprehension of illegal alien Marcelina Rios in Rancho Cucamonga after she had been cited four times for selling corn in a Rancho Cucamonga park. She was taken into local custody in Rancho Cucamonga and upon her release, ICE agents arrested her.  According to the Daily Bulletin, she is in the immigration detention center in Adelanto, CA. Despite there being as many as 50,000 vendors in the city of Los Angeles, the second-largest city in the country, was the last major city to finally remove criminal penalties for sidewalk vending this year. In February, prompted mostly by the election of President Trump and fears that criminalizing sidewalk vendors would put many undocumented immigrants at risk of deportation, the City Council unanimously voted to remove criminal penalties for sidewalk vending. Whatever the motives of the council, the removal of criminal penalties was ultimately a good thing, for criminalizing a market that according to the Economic Roundtable generates upward of $500 million in business a year has always seemed like a misguided waste of resources and opportunity. However, there is still work to do. The city has yet to make much progress in developing and implementing a framework to legalize the work of street vendors, and criminal penalties remain in place for vending in city parks. Councilmen Jose Huizar and Mitch O’Farrell have proposed removing criminal penalties for vending in city parks. We urge the council to do so and focus greater attention on providing vendors greater opportunities to work legally. The consequences of continuing to criminalize any aspect of street vending often do little more than make a mockery of justice and the rule of law. Take for example the case of Marcelina Rios of Ontario, who was arrested last month at Old Town Park on Oct. 13 for selling corn without having the proper paperwork. Booked into the West Valley Detention Center, Rios was then taken in by ICE agents, who transferred her to the Santa Ana City Jail and then the Adelanto Detention Facility. This is an excessive response to someone trying to earn a living and an abuse of the justice system. We call on all cities to remove the threat of criminal punishment from vendors and instead work to make lawful vending easier

Bob Huff, School Choice, and the Crisis of the California Democratic Party

California Republican state senate minority leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) just introduced an "open enrollment" bill which would permit California students to enroll in any school that they want to. State Senator Huff has done much to improve public education in California. He authored the school choice parent-trigger law, which allows parents to take over the operations of their children's local school should the test scores and the achievement of the students suffers. Adelanto families successfully implemented the program with rave reviews from all over the country supporting the parents. Parents in Lynwood, Compton, and even Los Angeles are taking steps to take back their local schools and take control of their children's learning from bureaucrats and union influences. Huff has a long and legacied history stumping for education equality and access in the Golden State.

Before his bold "open enrollment" initiative, Huff pressed for ending the excessive "pink slip" culture which harms our teachers with fears of early layoff notices every year. Instead of forcing schools to inform teachers of potential layoffs by the middle of March, Huff wants to give school districts more time before informing staff of potential reductions in force. Teachers deserve more stability on the school site, and districts can save money from the costly arbitration which often ensues from the annual March 15 pink-slip tsunami.

It's amazing that the Democratic Party leaders in Sacramento have not taken a lead on improving the quality and the culture of students or their teachers in public schools. Of course, this should come as no surprise, since four assembly members helped kill SB 1530, which would have empowered school districts to fire incompetent, improvident, or immoral teachers more quickly.

Huff also submitted a resolution on school choice last December. He then submitted a "name change" bill, SB 172 which would remove the "low achievement" stigma from schools which are improving, and cast them as "open enrollment" schools, instead. He also submitted a resolution recognizing "School Choice Week" earlier this year. Senator Huff's latest bills including SB 451, which will extend open enrollment to every school, every student in the state of California. SB 452 will empower parents to demand reforms from their local schools, in compliance with President Obama's "Race to the Top" legislation.

"Open enrollment", or "school choice", is anathema to union-backed Democrats, since allowing parents to choose where they enroll their children, regardless of the status or the quality of the school, will take power and funding away from the school bureaucracy and union leadership in public education, and put the power of the purse and the pupil back in the hands of the parents, where it belongs.

Despite their negative influence in the public sector, unions have become the dominant force in Democratic politics over the last ten years, but Huff's bill can put an end to their immoral imposition. Over the past two years, union influence has been waning, which may assist a minority bill getting more attention. In Wisconsin, Governor Scott Walker signed into law "Act 10", with its collective bargaining reforms. Cities and school districts saved millions of dollars, and union membership declined considerably since Act 10 enacted paycheck protection. President Obama did not bother to campaign for recall challenger Tom Barrett in 2012. In Michigan, Governor Rick Snyder signed into law right-to-work legislation, which will permit individual employees to choose whether they join a workplace union or not. In California, where Democrats have just obtained supermajority in the legislature, the union dominance is coming to the forefront like never before. Even failed mayoral candidate Jan Perry complained about union influence in state politics. Because of Perry's staunch Democratic status representing liberal constituencies for nearly two decades, her statements are a refreshing admission for voters frustrated with the special interest status quo, and an alarm for those who like to maintain the special interest dominance of the union hall in city halls and the state house.

School choice is a losing proposition for unions, and threatens the hegemony of the California Democratic Party, the open enrollment bill represents a win for everyone else, and a winning issue for Republicans. Democratic leaders now have a crisis on their hands. Will they support the people, or will they support the payouts? The Republican Party is demonstrating resolve to move on what should be a bipartisan issue. Of course, Republicans must lead not just on school choice, but also on right-to-work legislation, as well as comprehensive pension reform, issues which affect every voter in the state of California, regardless of their political affiliation.

Republican State senate minority leader Bob Huff should be commended for leading on education reform, whether his party was in power or not, because the best interests of our students rise above the politics of the moment. The Democratic Party has a choice: represent the people, or keep suppressing the best interests of the state, her citizens, and especially her students in order to further their diminished support from the overextended union lobby.

On the Viability of the Parent Trigger

California’s “Trigger Law” has conjured up mixed results, at best.

Parents are getting organized. They are demanding accountability and change from their local schools and educational leaders. Organizing to effect political action, however, has been a mixed bag at best.

The 2010 allows for one of four changes:

1. Replace half the school’s staff. A massive reformation of Miramonte Elementary took place following disturbing allegations of sexual misconduct.

2. Replacing the leadership at the school. True, some principals are not fit for the job of running a school. Much of the time, administrators have to juggle keeping parents, teachers, and district officials happy. Because they do not enjoy the same job protection as teachers, a principal can be peremptorily dismissed or transferred.

3. Close the school altogether. This devastating option was floated against Leuzinger High School three years ago, in which the district leadership instead decided to exchange a large community of staff from Leuzinger to Lawndale and back.

4. Convert the school into a charter. Such was the attempt in Compton last year, which failed in the wake of allegations that parents were forced to sign the petition.

According to a recent LA Times Editorial, charter school operators are loath to take over a trigger school because they must contend with the culture already embedded in the school. The rules that get broken, the amount of tolerance for poor professional or academic performance, the lack of direction, the incompetence of budgeting, these issues and more cannot be swept away by changing the leadership of a school. Starting a new program from the ground up is a more effective option, one which grants leadership greater authority to hire staff, set contractual standards.
Desert Trails Elementary School in Adelanto is facing a stronger opposition in concerned parents who demand better for their kids. They are not content with any of the four options offered in the Trigger Law. Instead of cosmetic changes in leadership, parents want the power to remove ineffective teachers, which would mean holding individual instructors accountable, pressuring leadership to push against flagging efforts in the classroom. As many leaders prefer holding onto tenure and position instead of positioning students to achieve, administrators have dragged their feet time and again to challenge poor teachers and take on the powerful teachers’ unions.

The state legislature answers to the demands of the unions, in many cases. Then the budget concerns which are eating away at the availability of public instruction severely the steps that a school can take to reform with reframing everything. Because of the cozy relationship that still dominates in Sacramento, education reform with teeth will still remain long in waiting. When the state loses its final fiduciary grip on the government school monopoly, when job-for-life tenure falls away in the midst of crushing pension obligations, the responsible leaders in Sacramento and abroad will have no other choice but to institute a voucher system and decentralizing local control to school districts and their communities.

Pro-Illegals Fight With ICE, California Citizens Fight Back

This is ridiculous. We have citizens in the state of California who are fighting with federal law enforcement, trying to prevent them from rounding up and deporting illegal aliens from our country.

This is unconscionable. We are indeed approaching a crisis point, in which the rule of law is pushed aside and the rule of law turns into the rule of sentiment or arbitrary power.

I do not want to live in such a world.

SoCal immigrant rights activists fightback against last week’s ICE immigration actions

Southern California activists are responding to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement immigration actions last week by fanning out to businesses targeted by the agency and responding to requests by family members and friends to check on their loved ones detained by the agency.

In other words, they are breaking the law, too.

It's time to deport all illegals.

The Los Angeles Raids Rapid Response Network is among those organizing a response to ICE’s operation last week, which resulted in 122 notices being issued to businesses and more than 200 people arrested.

Who is financing this lawlessness?

The network, which is chaired by the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles, issued a statement Tuesday saying it’s sending out “legal observers, organizers, and immigrant rights advocates” to businesses over the next few days that received notices from ICE to produce employee records.

Members of that network also went to see people who were detained at the Adelanto Detention Center in San Bernardino County.

When will they visit with the homeless veterans in Los Angeles County? What about their needs? We have Americans of all backgrounds in great need, who have been neglected by the government.

The network and other activists on Tuesday called the operation by ICE last week a form of retaliation prompted by recent policies adopted by local officials aimed at protecting immigrants.

“Because California and Los Angeles are determined to create safe communities for all and not serve as an arm of the DHS (Department of Homeland Security), ICE blatantly and arrogantly let it be known the agency will treat our communities without regard to the rule of law,” the network’s statement said.

The Democratic Party and the pro-illegal forces all over Los Angeles County are not interested in creating safe communities for anyone or everyone. They only want to foment more conflict and strife to retain power.

Nothing more.

Southern California-area activists said they believe ICE officials are returning to the businesses this week to obtain the records they requested last week.

ICE spokeswoman Lori K. Haley said that the notices last week alert business they plan to “audit their hiring records to determine whether or not they are in compliance with the law.”

Employers must show ICE officials their I-9 forms “within three business days, after which ICE will conduct an inspection for compliance,” Haley said.

I-9 forms are used to verify employees’ identities and whether they are authorized to work.

We need to crack down on these bad employers. Bill Clinton did it, and I witnessed it myself as an employee in one of the dining commons at UC Irvine.

“If employers are not in compliance with the law, an I-9 inspection of their business will likely result in civil fines and could lay the groundwork for criminal prosecution, if they are knowingly violating the law,” Haley said.

Businesses need to hire Americans citizens are go out of business. Americans First.

Among those responding as part of the Los Angeles Raid Rapid Response Network is Guillermo Torres, an organizer with Clergy Laity United for Economic Justice (CLUE), a group of faith-based organizations.

Churches are behind this appalling behavior, too. They are not churches, but left-wing cults with no regard for the Word of God.

Torres said he visited detainees at the detention center Tuesday morning. He said the network received two or three alerts about people who were detained in the recent operation and “alerts about asylum seekers” being held at the detention center.

They are treating illegal aliens like black slaves. Illegals do not deserve any kind of pity. They broke the law, they entered our country without our permission or any other authorization. They do not deserve any kind of feel-good treatment or status.

They need to go to their home countries and come in legally.

“Sometimes the families are in the dark,” he said. “When they connect with a community organization or immigration attorney, they are able to connect with (detainees) with their families. We try to give them guidance, such as about what might happen or what might not happen. Make sure to communicate with their loved ones.”

Torres said the network knows of roughly five businesses that were served notices. The network is hoping to respond by offering legal help and monitoring.

The best legal help would be to tell them to stop violating our immigration laws.

Torres said that he represents a group of “more than 600 interfaith leaders” that is “very disappointed that the Department of Homeland Security has decided to retaliate against our communities, and we just want to make them aware we’re going to be here to try to protect our community.”

There is no faith when churches routinely disregard our immigration laws. The church leaders should be arrested for this compound lawlessness.

ICE officials did not provide details about the people detained and the individual businesses issued notices last week. Haley said the agency issued notices to businesses from various industries, including “staffing, service industry, hospitality, transportation … ”

Why should ICE provide anything? They state of California and key law enforcement officials up and down the state have refused to cooperate with ICE. Why should ICE offer anything to the press, to the elected officials, or these left-wing inter(non)faith leaders?

The operation spanned across all seven Southern California counties covered by ICE’s local office, which are Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties, Haley said. The operation also took place in four counties in southern Nevada.

Deport all illegals. Period.

Officials with Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office said they are working to obtain more information about how Angelenos were affected by last week’s ICE operation.

How about collecting information about all the homeless veterans in Los Angeles? How about the corrupt trash contract pushing businesses and residents out of LA County? I can't believe that this crappy mayor cares more about scoring his left-wing virtue-signalling talking points. This Garcetti goofball should be arrested along with the rest of the sanctuary state mafia running California.

“Mayor Garcetti believes ICE should focus on removing dangerous criminals and people who pose a threat to our national security — not separating law-abiding, hardworking families that have built lives in our communities,” Deputy Mayor Jeff Gorell, who advises Garcetti on public safety and homeland security matters, said.

Jeff Gorell, the RINO turned Demo-rat who ran against Julia Brownley in 2014 and crashed and burned. Please, what to do we do with these batty turncoats who line their pockets with taxpayer dollars? Shame on Gorell. This man should not be earning a penny.

By the way, Jeff, ICE is rounding up criminals--and that includes every person who resides in this state, in this country without permission. Get a clue, Jeff! If you feel that strongly about this issue, then perhaps you should tear down the walls around your home and get rid of the door that you lock at night.

“Our office reached out to ICE for additional information on this operation and we’re waiting to hear back. We want open lines of dialogue with everyone affected by these activities, and we’ll continue pushing for better communication from ICE on any operations in the city,” he said.

There are several other activist groups and rapid response networks working to obtain information and keeping track of the impact of last week’s actions.

El Monte residents became aware of an ICE I-9 inspection at Northgate González Market, 3828 Peck Road, on Wednesday when a picture of an employee notice form was posted by “El Monte Memes” on Facebook and Twitter.

Diego Anguiano, the El Monte resident who operates the account, said an employee sent him the photo to share on social media.

Volunteers for the San Gabriel Valley Immigrant Youth Coalition passed out immigrant “know your rights” informational materials at the market Monday and Tuesday afternoon, said Marcela Hernandez, deportation defense coordinator for the coalition.

Social media is not going to stop ICE.

Deal with it.

Hernandez said the flyers and pamphlets distributed include information about what business owners, employees and shoppers need to know should they be confronted by ICE agents.

Locals are also planning to be at the Northgate market throughout Wednesday to observe the situation in case ICE agents go beyond verifying the I-9 forms and instead begin asking workers or customers about their immigration status, Hernandez said.

“There are more rapid response resources available in Los Angeles than in the San Gabriel Valley, so it’s important that we’re here so people know they have resources and ways to get help if they’re detained,” Hernandez said.

While Hernandez said the I-9 inspections are fairly innocuous on their own, ICE’s presence in the community puts residents on edge.

Of course it does. The city is filled with illegal aliens.

“It’s a mental and emotional attack on the community when they hear about ICE being nearby,” Hernandez said.

Deal with it. You aid and abet lawlessness, you will pay the price.

In the Inland area, about four to five businesses in Cathedral City, which was officially designated a sanctuary city in May 2017, were known to have been served with I-9 notifications, said Jennaya Dunlap with the Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice.

What? You mean, when a city declares itself a sanctuary city, it ultimately doesn't matter?

YEP!

Dunlap called the move an “intimidation tactic” as the Coachella Valley businesses are located in the same vicinity.

One business targeted by ICE is a car wash that is now left without many of its employees, Dunlap said.

Tough.

Dunlap said most of the estimated 20 employees resigned when the manager of the car wash told the staff that ICE would be checking their immigration status.

The owner of the car wash was not present when ICE delivered the notice.

The car wash and the other Cathedral City businesses received the notices on Monday, Feb. 12 and were told to have the documentation ready by that Thursday.

ICE officials said the operation last week was not something that was out of the ordinary.

“Federal law established by the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) of 1986 requires employers to verify the identity and work eligibility of all individuals they hire,” Haley said. “ICE is the federal agency responsible for enforcing these laws, which were set up to protect jobs for U.S. citizens and others who are lawfully employed, and to eliminate unfair competitive advantages for companies that hire an illegal workforce. ICE’s worksite enforcement investigators help combat worker exploitation, illegal wages, child labor and other illegal practices.”

Yes.

Some said they support the aims of ICE’s operation last week, and believe policies limiting the agency from entering jails was what prompted the operation being conducted at businesses and in other parts of the community.

“The law is very clear,” Don Rosenberg of Los Angeles, president of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crime, said. “Anybody who is here illegally is subject to deportation, regardless of what they have done.”

God bless Don Rosenberg. His son Drew was killed by an illegal alien. He has every right to speak out against this perversion of our immigration laws.

“To say (ICE) is abusing their power because they’re arresting people that haven’t done anything wrong is ludicrous,” he said. “They have done something wrong. They’re here illegally.”

Final Reflection

It is getting scary how violent the regressive left has become on the immigration issue. ICE is roaming all over the state of California.

I am glad that We the People Rising stayed safe after dropping off their letter to Northgate Market in El Monte.

They need to be really careful, and so much everyone who wants to see the rule of law restored in our country.
