ICYMI: Ricardo Lara Withdraws Obamacare Waiver for Illegal Aliens

State Senator Ricardo has been the most vocal instigator to push the state of California into a government run, taxpayer-subsidized hellhole for American citizens, while opening up the borders and turning the state of California into a sanctuary state for illegal aliens.

Unbelievable.

I started paying close attention to this destructive regressive leftist in 2015, when he had shut out Robin Hvidston of We the People Rising.

Here is the video:

This is beyond outrageous!

I had followed this account in greater measure because Lara was opening up the taxpayer floodgates to allow illegal aliens to use Medi-Cal. This was beyond mind-boggling to me, that this criminal disregard for our immigration laws could happen.

From there, I connected with We the People Rising in Huntington Park, where Lara has one of his field offices.

How convenient.

From there, conservative activists and pro-family forces have fought against this corrupt, terrible man. He has resorted to hiding his whereabouts. He refuses to inform anyone in the public where he will be or which celebrations he will be attending next.

Incredible.

The next capstone for his illegal alien program?

Allowing illegal aliens to purchase health insurance on the Obamacare state exchange Covered California.

This was an unconscionable expansion of a backward and self-destructive health insurance program which should have never been initiated in the first place

Never should have happened. Never.

Yet three Republicans joined with the Democrats to pass this perverse program, including my former Assemblyman David Hadley.

Terrible.

With Trump's ascendancy to the White House, however, Lara's plans to create a permanent class of government dependents has soured considerably.

His ambitious plans to shove his regressive, perverse LGBT agenda has also failed.

And he had to withdraw the waiver to the federal government to allow illegal aliens to purchase health insurance on the exchanges.

BAM!

California officials withdrew a request Wednesday to let illegal immigrants buy unsubsidized insurance policies after learning the decision would fall to President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

While a national audience may not care which lawmaker had to walk away from this pet program with his tail between his legs ...

Everyone else was glad to find out!

State Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Bell Gardens, called the move “the first California casualty of the Trump presidency.” Lara added that he didn’t trust the incoming administration to protect people’s privacy and health.

And believe me, Ricky, there will be more casualties. Many more!

“I take Trump at his words that anyone is subject to deportation at any time, and California will not be part of a wasteful and inhumane campaign against immigrants who are working hard and playing by the rules,” Lara’s statement said.

Amen to that! Time to restore the rule of law to our country, and particularly to the state of California.

"California is committed to a healthier future for all, and we will continue to seek ways to expand health coverage even as Republicans in Washington move to take it away," Lara said in a statement, referring to GOP efforts to repeal President Barack Obama's health care law.

Healthier future? How can anyone claim to be supporting a healthier future for everyone when illegal aliens keep pouring across the border? How many of the illegals from other countries have any vaccines, or have received any kind of healthcare to ensure that they do not infect anyone?

Public schools throughout California have seen a rise in communicable diseases once thought eradicated forever. Where are they coming from?

Hmm.

It's unclear how many immigrants could afford the unsubsidized premiums, which can cost hundreds of dollars per month for basic coverage. Immigrants without legal status currently can buy the health coverage through an insurance agent. The bill's supporters say more would likely sign up through the Covered California website, in part because of the millions of dollars in advertising and enrollment assistance the agency funds each year.

Millions of dollars in advertising? But the number of people enrolling on the exchanges are declining. The Obamacare Co-ops are crashing and burning all over the country. How many billions of dollars has this country lost because of this disastrous government invasion of the health care industry?

But what have Republicans and anti-Lara critics in Sacramento actually said about this stupid waiver?

Critics of Lara's legislation said it was a distraction for lawmakers who should have been focused on problems affecting U.S. citizens.

How about they should be focused on our needs PERIOD?

There should be no jockeying for attention or supremacy in Sacramento for citizens who need basic services which our tax dollars pay for.

Why does any of this have to be an issue requiring intense discussion?

Citizens and states are for citizens, not for illegal aliens.

It's just that simple!

Final Reflection

Yes, this is old news of a sort, but California conservatives, Republicans, patriots of all backgrounds need to rejoice that already California is not going to last long as the anti-Trump Blue Wall which the state had intended to become.

This is great news across the board, and brings reassure that even the most vindictive and wicked of scheme can fail.

Senator Ricardo Lara should think about raising money for a federal attorney since he is going to need to explain to a federal court very soon why he used his entire tenure in Sacramento to undermine or federal immigration laws while also putting American citizens at risk ...

Stop SB 10--Send Emails to Quash the Waiver!

ACTION ALERT#1

SB 10 CAN STILL BE STOPPED! Your help needed!

OPPOSE THE 1332 WAIVER THAT WOULD ALLOW ILLEGALS TO OBTAIN COVERED CALIFORNIA (Obamacare).http://www.coveredca.com/

PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL

Covered California (Obamacare) has held a Sacramento hearing and is analyzing the process of completing a federal 1332 Waiver so that illegals in California would be eligible for Covered California (Obamacare). The public's comments can be emailed to Covered California at the email address below. PLEASE SEND AN EMAIL TO EXPRESS YOUR STRONG OPPOSITION TO THE 1332 Waiver for SB 10.

State in the email that the 1332 Waiver for SB 10:

1. Would create a FINANCIAL HARDSHIP FOR CONSUMERS as California taxpayers would be forced to pay millions of dollars for the implementation of SB 10 as well as the marketing of SB 10.

2. The 1332 Waiver for SB IS NOT FEDERAL DEFICIT NEUTRAL.Covered California (Obamacare) for illegals would provide incentive for illegals to reside in California thereby COSTING MORE FEDERAL DOLLARS for incarceration, public education and social services for those illegally residing in California.
Sacramento legislators should be implementing legislation to help U.S. citizens, not illegals.

EMAIL:  1332@covered.ca.gov

We need your help to stop SB 10!

FAIR alert:
•             Including illegal aliens onto California’s healthcare exchange will encourage further illegal immigration to the state. California already has the highest population of illegal aliens in the country.

•             California taxpayers already pay over $25.3 billion annually in costs associated with illegal immigration. Because federal law does not allow federal money to be spent on public benefits for illegal aliens, SB 10 will require California taxpayers to completely foot the bill for SB 10, costing California families even more.

•             SB 10 will reduce quality and access to medical services in the state by drastically increasing demand.

•             California lawmakers should prioritize the health and welfare of its citizens and legal residents instead of rewarding lawbreakers.

CALL
EMAIL YOUR OPPOSITION TO:  1332 @covered.ca.gov

CALL

SENATOR RICARDO LARA'S OFFICE AND LET HIM KNOW THAT YOU ARE TAKING ACTION TO STOP THE SB 10 1332 WAIVER!

Hadley's "Defense" for Illegal Alien Waiver

Assemblyman David Hadley wrote me the following letter following his vote for SB 10:

"I agree with you, I do not believe that California taxpayers should be subsidizing health insurance for illegal residents.

"SB 10 does not provide subsidized or free health insurance to such residents, nor does it ask the Federal government to do so."

This thinking is all wrong.

Because individuals no longer have to prove or demonstrate any kind of legal status, those individuals who fall below a certain poverty line will ... guess what? ... get federal subsidies for Obamacare.

The whole exchange is based on federal monies, taken from taxpayers without their permission to finance a failing encroachment of the state into health care.

This whole mess needs to be shut down not expanded.

"What SB 10 proposes is that California request a waiver from the Federal government allowing illegal residents to purchase health insurance on the exchange without taxpayer subsidies."

Nope. See above.

By the way, millions of Californians are suffering from terrible access to health care. Medical professionals are leaving their careers, the state, or both because of the exorbitant costs and unreal demands of stretching too few resources for more people, many of whom should not live in this country in the first place.

"As a state legislator who cares about border security, I face an impossible dilemma. On the one hand, the Supreme Court has ruled that states such as California cannot adopt our own immigration policies or even enforce Federal laws."

And? The Supreme Court has issued bad, false, unconstitutional rulings before. The state of Texas, Alabama, and Arizona have followed their own paths to secure their borders, whether the federal government likes it or not.

"The state legislature does not get to decide who lives here."

The state legislature can enact policies to remove the negative enticements for illegal aliens who want to live here.

"And yet I legislate on nay matters that touch on illegal residents and on the health and safety of citizens, legal residents, and illegal residents. Further, both as a matter of state law and on humanitarian grounds emergency rooms do not deny care to patients in need regardless of their immigration status."

The difficult predicament of our medical facilities still does not justify opening the doors of Obamacare to illegal aliens.

David Hadley

This argument wears thin: "They are already here, so we might as well accommodate them." No! With that kind of logic, should we open up all the prisons and let the drug dealers, burglars, and murderers continue to commit crimes, too?

"It is good for our citizens, legal residents, and healthcare providers that illegal residents buy subsidized health insurance coverage."

Guess what? Legal residents are not buying health insurance, because they cannot afford it. The state health insurance exchange is going bust. One of the main insurance providers is exiting out of the entire program, pretty much ensuring that the whole insurance scheme falls apart.

And those illegal aliens will still take advantage of California emergency rooms, if there are any left.

The same pandering has resorted to similar logic about drivers licenses for illegal aliens. "They are already here, so we need to allow them the opportunity to get a driver's license to keep our streets safe,"

Our streets are not safer. Neither will our hospitals, both from a fiscal as well as a moral standpoint.

"I can assure you that I will oppose subsidizing the insurance policies of illegal residents."

If that were the case, then David Hadley would not have voted for SB 10.

Contact David Hadley's office, and tell him your disappointment over SB 10, and his need to stop illegal immigration to the state of California, end the negative inducements with taxpayer dollars.

Last Ditch Effort to Stop SB-10

SB 10-which will allow illegal aliens to apply for Covered California (Obamacare), passed the state Senate yesterday and will now proceed to the Governor’s desk. It seems our only recourse is to inundate the Governor’s office with emails and phone calls, urging him to ...

VETO SB 10.

Here’s how the voting went:

AYE—26 Democrats and 2 Republicans (Vidak and Cannella)
NO—10 Republicans (including Bob Huff, who has normally caved on immigration issues.)
NOT VOTING—2 Republicans (Nguyen and Runner)

If ALL the Republicans had voted NO, this bill would not have passed (a 2/3 vote was necessary because this bill was deemed ‘urgent’). Puzzle: even though this is labeled ‘urgent’, it is not ‘operative’ until 1-1-2018 and not ‘effective’ until 1-1-2019—we’re working to answer that.

This little tid-bit is good news.

By the time the bill turned law (if Brownie signs it) is enacted, the whole Covered California canard will flop, big time.

Let's hope that market forces will accomplish more justice and good governance than our legislators!

Also, this bill is contingent on a Federal waiver, as Obamacare bans illegal aliens from access to any coverage.

A waiver for illegals? How about a waiver for Americans who can't afford anything?!

Interesting aspect: the bill specifically prohibits disclosure of any information obtained from the applicant (illegal alien) to anyone outside the issue addressed in the bill (insurance)—therefore ICE can’t be notified?. The fiscal assessment states that this bill (the illegal alien will be paying a premium, with no subsidies) will cost taxpayers millions of dollars for the creation and maintenance of the system. This bill would also act as a magnet to draw illegal aliens from other states, other countries.

Yes, indeed. California is the Sanctuary State for illegal aliens, by and large.

So, if we want to have any further effort to stop this insanity:

FIRST PRIORITY: call Governor Brown 916-445-2841

or

email https://govnews.ca.gov/gov39mail/mail.php copy and paste this URL or go to ca.gov, drop down menu of ‘Government’, click ‘Governor’s Office’, then ‘contact’ and fill in the form to email the Governor.

Optional, but very helpful:

Call your State Senator to thank them for voting NO, if that’s the case.

Call the Republicans who voted AYE, allowing the bill to pass:
Andy Vidak (Bakersfield, Fresno) 916-651-4014
Anthony Cannella (Merced, Salinas) 916-651-4012

Call those who voted ‘Not Voting’, why didn’t you stand up for us taxpayers?:

Janet Nguyen (Garden Grove) 916-651-4034
Sharon Runner (Victorville, Santa Clarita) 916-651-4021

Open Letter to Assemblyman David Hadley

Dear Assemblyman Hadley:

I recognize that you achieved the improbable, if not impossible.

You were the first elected Republican assemblyman entirely within Los Angeles county in ... decades!

A novel achievement, which can give way to more victories for the future.

And yet, your latest high-profile vote may have scuttled those dreams.

You voted for SB 10, legislation which would petition the federal government to allow illegal aliens to purchase health insurance on California's Obamacare state exchanges.

This is absolutely awful.

What were you thinking?!

I have contacted your office three times now, and I will not stop demanding the following:

1. An answer

2. A repudiation.

That vote was wrong. Totally wrong.

How could you do this?!

Just because you face a tough re-election bid does not mean that you should cave on this issue.

Illegal immigration is not a Republican problem, or a Democratic problem

This is a California problem, and the solution is not more lawlessness.

Not more enabling of criminal activity.

Never!

You spoke out against the sanctuary state status of California two months ago. I could not agree with you more.

Have you already forgotten that the very reason why you started getting involved in politics? The day that Obamacare passed, you share with your fellow business owners that you would invest 20% of your time in politics.

Like you, I and many other Californians began getting active in our local and state politics.

Today, you are our--you are my assemblyman. Right now, I have to wonder if the victory of 2014 will devolve into disappointment and defeat for 2016.

I understand that in the state of California, Republicans, conservatives, and pro-liberty advocates have to pick their fights.

David Hadley (R-Torrance)

But that bill--soon to become law--is bad politics, bad policy, bad on principle.

Where is the fiscal discipline which you ran on?

Did you not argue time and again that we need to bring back balance to the state of California? That we have to stop the special, perverse interests eating away at our state from the inside out?

How does this treachery help the soccer Moms, the small businesses, the schools, the local control of our South Bay communities?

Where is the commitment to making California a state that is better for your children and grand-children?

Do you not understand the consequences of this terrible legislation?

This waiver to the federal government will most assuredly be granted.

The medical system in California is crashing all around us. Doctors, medical personnel are fleeing the state.

We have homeless veterans who cannot get adeuate care.

Men and women struggle to pay their monthly bills, and now they will have to cover the cost of illegals on the health care exchanges, too?

Assemblyman, I do not diminish your service to the state in passing school choice for military families.

Nor have I forgotten your efforts to pass civil asset forfeiture reform.

But this vote on SB 10 is betrayal, pure and simple.

You must apologize and repudiate this terrible vote!

Sincerely,

Arthur Schaper
President, Beach Cities Republicans.

Assemblyman Supports Policy Which He Had Opposed

Assemblyman David Hadley (R-Torrance) started getting into politics more actively for the same reason as I.

Obamacare--and the fact that Obama did not care ... about the Constitution, the rule of law, the abuse of federal authority against individual liberty and state sovereignty.

I wrote my first of many letters to the Daily Breeze shortly after the March 2010 sudden passage of the law. "We have to pass the bill so you can see what's in it."

Yep, that law.

I had never called my Congresswoman before to rail against a bill that was so bad. Jane Harman heard from me, and did not care. "The Congresswoman supports this legislation," the office staffer told me plainly.

I showed my support for Pete Kesterson, at the time the President of the Beach Cities Republicans.

He ran in the 2010 Congressional primary, and lost.

He stopped leading the BCR, and David Hadley stepped up.

He tells this story to new crowds every time he speaks about his win in the South Bay:

"When Obamacare passed into law, I made the decision to spend 20% of my time in politics."

Now, he is a full-time politician.

David Hadley

Look, I celebrated with many in the South Bay. when he won his improbably victory. Republicans were so happy to have a fellow conservative fighting for them in Sacramento.

He worked so hard. He united diverse, disparate elements in the South Bay. When I wrote about his efforts with the South Bay 100, he informed me how important it was that someone else understood the uphill fight awaiting them.

Hadley pulled no punches with his supporters. He embraced a distinctly libertarian take on marriage and life. He intended to support businesses, stop the destruction of the state's infrastructure to pandering special interests. He wanted to ensure that local school districts would enhance their autonomy from the wasteful state system.

On many of his votes, I was really pleased. I welcomed his push for civil asset forfeiture reform

When he voted for ABx2 15--the assisted suicide bill--I grew alarmed, as did other conservatives.

Members of the pro-life community explicitly cut off support for Hadley after that.

Ouch.

One strong pro-life activist told me that he was very disappointed in this vote, but was more invested in ensuring that Hadley stopped the Democratic phalanx of taxation, spending, and the government-coerced revenue stream which benefited the illiberal interests in the state.

"Starve the beast," he told me. That's what mattered.

But his latest vote has deeply disappointed me.

I wrote at length the need for opposition against SB 10, which issue a request for a waiver from the federal government to allow illegal aliens to purchase health insurance through the state Obamacare exchange.

This is beyond outrageous! Along with Hadley, Eric Linder and Catharine Baker voted for this terrible law. If two have them had voted No, then this perverse measure would have been put on hold.

Republicans have depended on Republicans to stand strong and fight against the demonic liberal lunacy dominating Sacramento.

Now they are going along with it.

What is going on here?!

David Hadley started getting involved in politics because of Obamacare. Now he's helped upend the rule of law and enabled the disastrous Covered California program to allow illegal aliens.

Will his sudden, new-found support for the measure end Hadley's career in politics as quickly as it started?
