White (Liberal) Supremacy: White Minneapolis Voters Want to Defund the Police, Not Black Voters

 

Poll shows ‘defunding’ Minneapolis police is driven by white voters

A poll carried out for the Star Tribune, MPR News, KARE 11, FRONTLINE and the PBS series sheds some fascinating light on the ongoing debate on policing in Minneapolis.

Some in favor of the proposed amendment have seized on the responses to the question: Do you support or oppose replacing the Minneapolis Police Department with a new Department of Public Safety, which may include police officers and will focus on public health, and giving the City Council more authority over public safety?

On net, support comes from voters of both genders, white voters, voters under 65, college graduates and non-college graduates, and Democrats. This is a pretty broad range giving the measure 49 percent of Minneapolis voters in support compared to 41 percent against.

But take a look at the voters who are, on net, opposed to this measure: black voters, voters over 65, Republicans, and Independents. For a measure which is being pushed as necessary to fight ‘systemic racism’, it is extraordinary that black voters oppose it by five points (black women oppose it by a whopping thirteen points) while white voters support it by eleven points. It is striking to note, too, that opposition to this measure unites black, Republican, and independent voters.

Note, too, the use of the word ‘may’ in this question: this new Department of Public Safety may not include police officers, focus on public health, and give the City Council more authority over public safety. This vague wording is why courts initially struck the question down.

If, as is quite possible on this vague wording, the new Department of Public Safety didn’t include police officers, or included many fewer of them, how many of those answering ‘Support’ would still do so? Perhaps not so many. When asked: Do you think Minneapolis should or should not reduce the size of its police force? 29 percent of voters say it should but a hefty 55 percent show that it shouldn’t.

Again, breaking down the numbers reveals some fascinating things. Reducing the size of Minneapolis’ police force — which may well happen under the current proposal — fails to find support, on net, among a single group of voters sampled. It fares best among voters aged 18-34, white voters, and Democrats (net opposition of -6, -18, and -20 points respectively): It fares worst among black voters and Republicans (net opposition of a staggering -61 and -66 points respectively). Once again, blacks and Republicans are aligned on this question with whites and Democrats furthest from them.

None of this ought to be surprising. The quantity of policing in Minneapolis has fallen drastically over the last 18 months: Violent crime is up 19 percent so far this year: Black Minneapolitans have been the victims to a strikingly disproportionate degree. While ‘defunding’ the police is an ideologically driven crusade for younger, white, Democratic voters, for Minneapolis’ black voters it is, quite literally, a matter of life and death.

Reminder: "Black Lives Matter" and Sexual Perversion (PRIDE) Are Inseparable

We must never forget that the Black Lives Matter is at its core a homosexuality, cultural marxist movement of hate.

The Black Lives Matter movement announced their hateful opposition to the nuclear, read natural family. They also are so racist, as to believe that black people cannot form natural families.

And they are in lockstep with promoting the homosexualist movement, which is all about undermining the natural dimensions of society.

Every year, Pride month rolls around, and we celebrate the colorful beauty of our LGBTQ+ community. But we must not forget to also recognize the discrimination, hate, and violence our family continues to face today at the intersection of their identities -- and how the fight for LGBTQ+ equality goes in hand-in-hand with #DefundThePolice.

Pride began as an uprising against police in the early hours of June 28, 1969. Police in New York City violently raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club that was a place of refuge for many queer Black and Brown folks. Police raids of gay spaces were common. But this time, fed up with the constant police violence against them, the patrons of Stonewall fought back in what came to be known as the historic Stonewall Uprising.

The language may have been different then, but the sentiment remains the same: #DefundThePolice.

This Pride month and beyond, we're dedicated to the fight for LGBTQ+ civil rights and equality. Because all Black Lives Matter.

Note that PRIDE was the first "Defund the Police" movement, at least in principle.

It's noteworthy that for the last 50 some years, the LGBT militancy movement has been hiding this rugged, essential disregard for the rule of law and recognition of the rights of others. Of course, if anyone had been paying attention, most of the first LGBT clubs and organizations were communistic at their core, i.e. the Mattachine Society. Oscar Wilde wrote an essay "The Soul of Man Under Socialism", and so on. It's time for people to wake up and recognize that this assault on natural marriage, life, and family is simply another interation of Marxism/Communism moving in and bringing down the country.

A nation cannot survive on sodomy, and a country cannot continue on systemic bigotry.

The whole ruth be told, the Stonewall Riot incident had nothing to do with oppression of homosexuals and trangenders by the New York City police department. Rather, it had everything to do with the fact the Stonewall Inn was a mob bar, and they were not paying their liquor license fees. Because of that, the police raided the Stonewall Inn--and then the fights broke out.

Let's cut the comedy here. PRIDE is nothing to be proud of, and Black Lives Matter does not care about black lives. There is a pattern here, folks, and people need to start paying attention to it.

A Christian Argument for Defunding the Police

There has been a great deal of discussion among the Left about defunding the police.

You might be surprised to know that a Christian activist named Paul Dorr actively discussed defunding the police as well, although his argument came from the position of ensuring accountability from government and restoring power of security and police authority to the people.

I'm on another wall discussing the idea of getting rid of the police. I'm the only Christian agreeing with it. See some thoughts below. Patricia Wheat and Brent Allan Winters need to be heard across the land.

"Or we could could have the restoration of the Common Law shires where men of the neighborhood would work together to keep the peace, including the use of force and arrest. As I'm writing, the national media have reported that this is what has taken over right now on Lake Street in the southside of Minneapolis. The neighbors are standing guard on top of their homes and properties protecting each other, with arms. The rioters won't come back to Lake Street anytime soon. One thing they all know for sure is that cops and national guard were not there when they needed them. (They were probably too busy enforcing 'social distancing' at local churches. lol)

The neighborhoods could elect themselves a 'reef' to be the head man of all the neighbors to organize this public safety idea. In England he was the reef of the shire. In America we reversed it and called him the shire-reef or Sheriff. The locally elected Sheriff should have a small staff (relatively speaking) and many local volunteer deputies to be called on when needed.

"Professional" police came from metro London (the Bobbies) and came under the executive branch (Mayors) and have been a disaster, made worse by limited immunity Supreme Court rulings over the last 25 years. This limited immunity along with succeeding Court rulings has turned it into "unlimited" immunity. Professional cops can do just about anything they want of an unjust sometimes criminal nature, when they are stopping people...and get away with it, unless a video camera is rolling. The inner city people have felt the blunt force trauma of this tyranny more than any for the last generation. This plays no small roll in the fact that our "great Christian (antinomian) nation" has the highest incarceration rate in the world. --- Paul Dorr

Paul's argument about qualified immunity is well-taken. Police officers can get away with violating the rights of others, and there is no legal recourse. This is a problem I have faced a number of times, not just in Huntington Park, when I was arrested without a cause, but also in Chula Vista, when a police officer told me that I could not bring signs into the city council meeting. That was a lie and a fraud, and I pushed back on the cop and won that fight. A few year prior to that, a police officer for the Montebello Unified School District asked me to step outside. He asked for my ID, and I told him "No," which is my right, since he did not have probable cause. He then told me that the superintendent had issued an order that no flyers could be distributed in the school board lobby. He threatened to force me to leave.

At the time, I had no recourse, no legal representation. The cop got away with it. These kinds of incursions of our natural rights are all too common because of bad police officers, and they need to be challenged. The best way to ensure that they do not happen as much would be to take away the qualified immunity which police officers currently enjoy.

I may not agree with Paul Dorr on everything, but his analysis and arguments are rock solid on this matter, no doubt. It's time for Americans to stop being pro-cop, and they need to start being pro-rule of law. There is a substantial difference!
