With RINOs Like These, Who Needs Hawaii Democrats?!

*** BREAKING NEWS ***
Closet Socialist ANDRIA TUPOLA Embraces Socialized Medicine for Hawaii During PBS Debate

Tupola aligns herself in 2018 with Bernie Sanders,
Elizabeth Warren, and Other Socialists

Aloha, Republicans:

Please WATCH this video above.  HIRA tried to warn everybody about Tupola:   On last night's PBS Hawaii gubernatorial debate, immediately after the nutty Green Party candidate's embrace of socialized medicine, closet socialist (masquerading as Republican) Andria Tupola explicitly said that "yes", she supports socialist 'single-payer healthcare' for Hawaii.

The debate moderator, journalist and liberal Democrat Daryl Huff, was blown away and expressed great surprise:  "I don't think I've ever heard a Republican say they support a single-payer healthcare system before."

Well, that's because Andria Tupola is NOT a real Republican.  She supports high taxes, wasteful spending, expanded union control of state government, driver's licenses for illegal aliens, weak borders, and socialized medicine.  Also, like in previous appearances, Tupola again stated she only supports Trump with conditions.  And while nutty Green Candidate Jim Brewer lambasted Trump, Tupola sat silent offering no defense of Trump at all.

So, when a liberal music teacher turned politician who votes like a Democrat decides to run for governor, it's probably a BAD SIGN when the closet Democrats who control the Hawaii GOP make her their star candidate in 2018.

Get to know Tupola's voting record HERE and you won't be surprised she loves socialism:  http://www.HawaiiDeservesBetter.com

Hawaii RINOs: Racism Alert (They Act Like Democrats, Don't They!)

RACIST LEGISLATORS SEEK HIGHER OFFICE:  Tupola + Ing are seeking to block most ethnic groups from running for state office

Last year, Tupola voted YES for an insidious and
downright un-American piece of garbage legislation

Aloha, Republicans:

As you know, OHA is a state agency funded by taxpayers of all races and ethnic groups in Hawaii. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled unequivocally that it’s illegal for Democrats and RINO’s in the 50th State to strip the voting rights of Asians, Blacks, Latinos, Whites and Filipinos by eliminating their ability to vote for OHA trustees. Likewise, the Supreme Court has overwhelmingly ruled that ANYONE can run to serve on OHA’s dysfunctional board of trustees. But that doesn’t keep liberal race hustlers from trying to discriminate against other ethnic and racial groups. Racist nutjob Kaniela Ing and closet Democrat Andria Tupola voted in a sleazy attempt to reinsert the reprehensibly racist and ethnically discriminatory practices surrounding OHA.

Yep, Ing and Tupola voted to ignore the U.S. Constitution and the U.S. Supreme Court by supporting racist legislationto keep non-Hawaiians OFF the board of trustees of this state agency. During the recent confirmation hearings of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, we were all warned about racist politicians like Mazie Hirono, Kaniela Ing and Andria Tupola who want to turn back the clock to the dark days of Hawaii history which divided people by ethnicity: “No person shall be eligible for election or appointment to the board unless the person is Hawaiian.” It's sad that the leader of all Republicans in Hawaii (and its candidate for governor) is unable to wrap her mind around the concept of EQUAL OPPORTUNITY for ALL Americans, including those of us in the 50th State. Anyone really paying attention knows that RINO Tupola cannot win in 2018. But it’s worse than that. She will drag down Republicans for years to come by associating the Hawaii GOP with support for radical policies that Democrats offer. Auwe!

RINO ALERT: Closet Democrat Andria Tupola Supports New State Property Tax

RINO ALERT:  Closet Democrat Andria Tupola
Supports New State Property Tax

Just Five Short Months Ago, Tupola
voted YES to create the new tax

Aloha, Republicans:

Let’s get something straight. The state Republican Party and the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the national Republican Governors Association (RGA) unanimously conclude that RINO Andria Tupola doesn’t stand a chance in her ridiculous campaign for governor. They won’t even donate one penny to her or even give her decent odds. HIRA has been given several reasons from sources in these Republican organizations. First, she’s no Republican. She votes liberal which means she’d GOVERN liberal. Uh, no thanks. Second, since everyone knows she’s really another liberal masquerading as a conservative, she can’t raise enough money to beat David Ige, even though the issues in 2018 should favor Republicans after how badly Democrats have mismanaged Hawaii’s economy, cost of living, and state government. But Tupola is no reformer. She just goes along with Democrats to get along. Third, she resorts to taking legal action against HIRA to keep her lousy voting record a secret -- such as her shocking vote just 5 months ago IN FAVOR of creating a brand new State Property Tax which will increase rents and prices for many, many people in Hawaii.
RINO Andria Tupola has repeatedly threatened to shut down HIRA's Facebook page for telling the truth about her horrible voting record since she was first elected to the State House of Representatives. She's tried everything to shut us down and keep us quiet. Legal action. Complaints to Facebook. Ongoing intimidation. Everything she's done has failed.

Now, HIRA will once again work to educate voters from now until Election Day that certain loser Andria Tupola’s liberal governing philosophy is a THREAT to everyone's standard of living. Even her GOP running mate says Tupola needs to apologize for her lousy voting record. No kidding! But instead, Tupola has been working to bamboozle low-information voters statewide with phony information about her own voting record. In fact, her liberal record is so horrible that Tupola and her own supporters have to lie about it.

Sorry folks, Andria Tupola is no Republican. She’s not conservative, she’s not honest AND she’s not electable. To paraphrase Mitt Romney, Andria Tupola is a phony and a fraud. Tupola's voting record gives her away. She has more in common with Democrats than you might know. It's scary. And HIRA will keep telling the truth each day no matter how much Tupola and her sleazy lawyers and her social media justice warriors try to intimidate us. Again, she has no hope of winning except in the minds of her most ardent supporters - most of whom are actually liberals and Democrats who champion the sovereignty agenda and relish the irony of backing a fake Republican. Under these circumstances, we can all be brutally honest about the terrible consequences of Hawaii’s Republican Party having wasted an opportunity to make the case against Democrats by nominating closet Democrat Tupola in 2018. What a waste of four years. Auwe!

Hawaii RINO GOP Chairwoman Totally MIA for Election 2018

Aloha, Republicans:

During a cringe-inducing interview this past Friday on Rick Hamada’s radio show on KHVH 830 AM, current GOP state chair Shirlene "Do Nothing" Ostrov actually described herself on the air as a "military commander" and proclaimed boldly that "I'm looking at campaigns to win the war" against Democrats.  [Pause reading here to allow yourself a full minute of laughter.]

With only four short months until early balloting begins in the 2018 General Election, there's a very real chance that folks are so used to watching Hewaii's Republican Party blow election after election that RINO Ostrov's failed chairmanship is not any more shocking than Fritz Rohlfing's or Pat Saiki's or David Chang's.  Likewise, the liberal voting record of RINO minority leader Andria "Driver's Licenses for Illegal Aliens" Tupola might not be any more shocking than her RINO party leader predecessors Beth "I've always been a Democrat" Fukumoto-Chang, Aaron "Ling" Johanson, and Gene "Obamacare" Ward.  We've all just gotten used to this toxic mix of incompetence and liberalism and losing.

While many former supporters of Shirlene Ostrov have begun parting company with the puppet chair who was plucked from obscurity by Pat Saiki and the Lingle Rail-Tax Deniers at the Oahu League of RINO Women (also turncoat Djou's biggest donors), Ostrov's remaining supporters appear to have been overcome with an acute form of Stockholm Syndrome which paralyzes the sections of the brain where memory and logic are centered.

Since Day One, Ostrov’s faux ‘military campaign’ at the state party has been made up of very specific promises -- promises Ostrov made when she ran for the post of state chair 15 months ago.  Today's HIRA newsletter revisits Ostrov's explicit promises so that the electoral disaster awaiting the Hawaii GOP in a few weeks will make perfect sense to even the most brainwashed Patty Hearst types down at the Oahu League.  First, however, we start with Ostrov's recent multiple assurances that all is great at the state party . . . so great, in fact, that 2018 will be "historic".

*** PROMISE #1:  On 19 March 2018, Ostrov issued a press release in the wake of Charles Djou's resignation from the Hawaii GOP with an unmistakable pledge that, ”Our new leadership team is moving steadily forward with a bold and ambitious agenda and are poised to make historic gains in the 2018 elections.”  Then again, as recently as last month at the state party convention in Kaneohe, Ostrov promised Republicans and the news media alike that the Hawaii GOP "would make HISTORIC GAINS gains this election cycle".  Historic gains.  Well, on last Friday's Hamada radio show, Ostrov explained that her new vice chair for candidate recruitment is former 90's party chair Jane Tatibouet, whom Ostrov erroneously credited for increasing the ranks of elected Republicans at the State Capitol by a whopping 17 new members of the legislature (a rise from 4 to 21). Sadly, the reality is that the increase was merely from 7 to 12 (an increase of 5).  But, hey, what’s a little resume padding?  Still, let's agree to call an increase of 5 "historic".  And let's call breaking even or even losing seats when the issues are on our side as "disastrous".  But the reason Ostrov's promise of "historic gains" can’t and won’t be kept is because the rest of her promises made 16 months ago were just buzz words selected to fool gullible convention delegates who actually WANTED those very things to be delivered.

*** PROMISE #2:   Education, outreach, persuasion, blah, blah, blah . . .

From Ostrov's campaign website:  https://www.shirleneostrov.net/statement-of-candidacy

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Sorry, just ask voters anywhere.  At the grocery store, just ask the people in front of you or behind you if they know any reasons that they should vote R instead of D in 2018.  Simply no case has been made.  The entire burden has been put (as usual) on the shoulders of our underfunded, undersupported, late-starting candidates.  There's been no education of voters, no persuasion, no outreach, and no 'stepping on the gas to accelerate'.  Nothing but silence.  Ostrov and her slate of running mates completely failed to make the case for change to Hawaii voters.  Was she hoping that Democrats would publicly blame themselves for everything wrong?  Did she think Democrats would make the case to vote Republican?  Think again.

*** PROMISE #3:   Independent Audit

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Maybe "first order of business" means something different to Ostrov than everyone else walking the planet.  But the "very short-term completion date" for her "independent analysis" has slipped now into the 13th month of her tenure.  Her claim of "transparency at all levels of leadership" was as flimsy as her empty commitment to spreading the word about GOP solutions and reforms to voters. Disingenuously, she claims to "have no personal or private agenda", yet fails to note that she serves simultaneously as state chair for the Hawaii GOP and vice-president for the Oahu League of RINO Women; a liberal Republican auxiliary which has controlled the Hawaii GOP (and a half-ownership share of the party's Kapiolani headquarters) for decades.  Democrats won't take our call for an audit of HART seriously when the head of the Hawaii GOP fails to deliver to its own members the audit of the party she promised on Day One.

*** PROMISE #4:   Party Platform Free of Manipulation

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Ostrov deliberately manipulated the outcome of the platform process to a degree which makes her manipulative predecessors seem innocent by comparison.  On the eve of the state convention last month, Ostrov shredded the final work product of the statewide platform committee, applied undue influence by sequestering herself with Andria Tupola's running mate (from the state chair race in 2017) behind closed doors, rewrote the platform (cutting out pages and pages of approved planks), re-convened a handful of members of the platform committee to obtain an illusory 're-approval' of her manipulated platform, and then didn't even allow discussion of the platform by convention delegates.  Ostrov abused her power and violated party rules, by unacceptably ramming through the Ostrov rewrite with zero debate, zero discussion, and zero adherence to either her promise or party rules.  This woman simply cannot be believed.

*** PROMISE #5:   Published Calendar of Party Meetings

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Sorry, Shirlene.  You simply haven't done this.  The party website and communications are a total embarrassment.  The lack of a calendar is just another glaring black hole in a sea of nothingness.  Perhaps the problem is that you are out-of-town so often on non-party business like running your company on the mainland, unlike the "full-time party chair" you repeatedly promised to be.  But even busy people use calendars so they don't miss meetings.  And calendars are easy to publish in the 21st Century, if you've got nothing to hide and if the "tough work" is really being tackled.  SPOILER ALERT:  We already know the tough work needed to win elections is NOT being done.

*** PROMISE #6:   Ostrov and Her Running Mates Will Actually Do Their Jobs

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Not one party officer that Ostrov ran with on her slate in 2017 has been succeeding in their jobs and Ostrov doesn't seem to care.  Ostrov's Vice Chair for Coalitions is leaving our candidates empty-handed with no winning coalitions developed.  Ostrov's low energy Vice Chair for Community Service has likewise left the public wondering if Republicans in Hawaii ever perform volunteer work at all.  Jonathan Kunimura, Ostrov's Vice Chair for Communications, has arguably done more to help his pal Charles Djou to attack the Hawaii GOP upon renouncing his party membership than he's done to advance the cause of the state party after more than 13 months on the job.  Ostrov's Vice Chair for Candidate Recruitment failed to find candidates for most races in 2018.  There are more Democrats running unopposed for re-election than there are districts with Republican candidates.  Worst of all, Ostrov's Vice Chair for Coordinated Campaigns is Pat Saiki.  The coming political disaster in 2018 is primarily attributable to Ostrov and Saiki's gross negligence explained with the next broken promise.

*** PROMISE #7:   Ostrov says Party Rules will be Followed

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Obviously, Ostrov was only kidding when she made this promise.  Rulebreaking is rampant at party headquarters.  Most notable is how Ostrov and her party officer running mates blatantly ignore their own explicit job descriptions which were written to make sure that party officers actually tried to win elections.  One of the most crucial breakdowns is Ostrov's failure to perform the required duty of supervising (Section 406 of HRP Rules) the work of her Vice Chair for Coordinated Campaigns, Pat Saiki.  And with Ostrov having promised to be a "full-time" state chair, she has no excuse for this breakdown in performance.

Under party rules (Section 407), Saiki is responsible for the Hawaii GOP's Voter Identification campaign (canvassing all 700,000 registered voters to see who the Republicans are), the Voter Registrationcampaign (signing up hundreds of thousands more potentially Republican voters), the Absentee Ballot program (getting folks to vote early and for Republicans), the Get-Out-The-Vote program (making sure all the identified Republicans actually cast ballots), and much more.  NONE of this is happening.  Pat Saiki isn't doing any of this.  And Shirlene Ostrov knows it.  At a recent meeting of the party's State Committee, a chilling report was given that revealed how a total of ZERO voters out of 700,000 had been canvassed under Saiki and Ostrov in order to identify their political leanings (so that candidates know who to focus their campaigns on -AND- so that the Get-Out-The-Vote effort in October and November only encourages Republican-leaning voters in each race to cast ballots).  This gross negligence by Saiki and Ostrov is a scary situation which completely blows up Ostrov's pretense of being a 'military commander campaigning against Democrats'.  Let's be honest.  Without this important work being done, the Hawaii GOP is in a war with no weapons, no ammunition, no supplies, and no idea where the enemy is located.  In 2018, Hawaii Republicans are sitting ducks with idiots for generals.  Long story short, the party and its 'thrown-to-the-wolves' candidates have no way to make sure that Republican-leaning voters actually turn out to vote in 2018 because Shirlene Ostrov, Pat Saiki and the rest of Ostrov's RINO running mates refused to do the work needed to win.

*** PROMISE #8:   Ostrov says Party Will Take on the Democrats

The Verdict? -- Broken.  Since absolutely no 'strategic messages' have been 'planted all over the state', the average Hawaii voter has been given no idea why they should vote any differently than they have in years gone by.  Perhaps Ostrov means to start doing this AFTER the 2018 election?  Because there's no 'contrast', there's no 'message', there's no 'communication', there's no 'values and issues'.  Just total silence which sets up our candidates for failure and which emboldens the state legislature and county councils to continue ignoring conservative reforms and solutions while continuing to move leftward with each new law, budget, and tax passed.
-------------------------------------------
In closing, it’s a terrible thing knowing that our state party is still controlled by closet Democrats who systematically engineer the weakening of the Republican Party.  What this means is that Hawaii's Democrats face no real challenge every two years, just an illusory one.  Even potential GOP candidates know this as they decline to run for office.  As the Honolulu Star-Advertiser recently noted, "With each passing election cycle the state has become, increasingly, a Democratic Party stronghold, with the isle Republicans fielding fewer candidates."

Sadly, Shirlene Ostrov's promises aren't worth jack squat.  Call it malfeasance, misfeasance or nonfeasance, the job simply isn't getting done by the state chair and her do-nothing posse elected last year at the Kauai state convention.  They promised to make everything better.  They promised "historic gains" in 2018.  Even the local news media can see we're on the verge of a historic trainwreck.  You can draw a straight line from Ostrov's broken promises to the the widely-reported "collapse" of the Isle GOP which will culminate in historic losses on November 6th.

As Star-Advertiser columnist David Shapiro laments, "With each election cycle, it becomes more difficult to take Hawaii Republicans seriously as a major political party."  And this joke of a party was made possible by a succession of RINO's and closet Democrats like Shirlene Ostrov whose idea of 'leadership' is to tell party members what they want to hear in order to win top officer positions at state conventions, then merely sit back and let Democrats win.

The next opportunity to break this vicious cycle through new party leadership comes in 2019 after another two wasted years.  Until then, HIRA urges you to help conservative candidates in 2018 all you can.  Beware of the RINO's on the ballot (and there are several) who make no bones about the fact that positions on issues and political principles and ideology don't matter much to them - just getting into office and getting along with Democrats.  Sorry, we've had enough of closet Democrats after enduring Beth Fukumoto, Andria Tupola, Aaron Johanson, Kym Pine, Cynthia Thielen, Lauren Cheape, Bob "Rail Tax" McDermott, and Gene Ward without electing Fukumoto's clone to replace her in office.  Auwe to that!

ICYMI: Hawaii RINOs Serve Restraining Order Against HIRA for ... Telling the Truth About Hawaii RINOs

RINO's at Hawaii GOP Officially Spend Money to Promote Lyin' Andria Tupola's Fraudulent TRO and to Silence Conservatives in 2018

IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING:   So HOW exactly do those RINO's who run the Hawaii GOP feel about conservative HIRA?  Well, here's your answer.  The Hawaii GOP's top priority in 2018 is to attack HIRA and conservatives by paying a staffer with party donor funds to help defame HIRA and its leader by promoting Lyin' Andria Tupola's fraudulent TRO.  You need to remember this when you are watching TV on November 6th and the local news is reporting the election results.
Watch the video above and read the transcript (below) from an 10 April 2018 phone message left by Hawaii GOP's paid executive director Aaron Wilson on the National Federation of Republican Assemblies' after-hours phone line at 10:38pm from the Hawaii Republican Party's landline (1-808-593-7983) in order to complain about the conservative NFRA chapter, the Hawaii Republican Assembly (HIRA).

Wilson wants to help RINO Andria Tupola to win the August 11th Primary Election by promoting the liberal Republican gubernatorial candidate's failed filing of a TRO against HIRA president Eric Ryan for stalking her at a gubernatorial forum on April 6, 2018 while Ryan was actually miles away having his car serviced at Jiffy Lube.  The best way for RINO's to maintain liberal control of the Republican Party of Hawaii is to attack conservatives and help liberals to win primaries . . . even by falsely portraying liberal candidates as "victims".

What's amusing is that Tupola's initial April 9th TRO attempt was rejected by the judge around the same time that Aaron Wilson was leaving this message at NFRA headquarters to complain about HIRA.  For anyone who doesn't think that the HRP leaders and Tupola's Democrat criminal defense team of attorneys and campaign operatives aren't working together, this information was NOT known to the public until the Star-Advertiser wrote about the story weeks later.

Some funny, made up facts are thrown together by HRP's latest, here-today-gone-tomorrow executive director Aaron Wilson  . . . but that's how RINO's and their cronies roll.  Democrats and liberals and RINO’s teaming together with phony info (and inside info from Tupola) to keep conservatives quiet from now until the election (and beyond).

Not only is Tupola trying to fool state judges and the public with her bogus claim of being stalked at a gubernatorial forum when Ryan was actually at Jiffy Lube, but so are RINO leaders at the Hawaii GOP.

One last insight:  HIRA has learned from multiple source inside the Hawaii GOP that the party's TOP 2018 priority is NOT to beat Democrats, but to attack and silence HIRA by helping Tupola to promote her phony TRO and to go on the offensive after Eric Ryan and the conservative Republicans at HIRA.  RINO party leaders have even scheduled yet another in a series of special meetings scheduled THIS Thursday night at Hawaii GOP headquarters to deal with their unhealthy obsession with HIRA.  Too bad.  They really need to develop an obsession with beating Democrats.

TRANSCRIPT:
"Hi, good evening. My name is Aaron Wilson. I'm actually the executive director here at the Republican Party of Hawaii. Uh, I think we have my may have a small problem with your Hawaii chapter. I'm not sure if they're actually a charter organization or not. But the president Eric Ryan has, I guess um, gotten a restraining order against himself by one of our Republican governor candidates.  Uw, wanted to know, wanted to make sure, that you were aware.  Someone give me a call on my cellphone is 610-505-1879. Uh, he's also caused, uh, two of our other candidates to back, two of our other Republican candidates, to back out of the race, due to the fact that he was just attacking them as well as their supporters.  Again, he's supposed to be working with one of our other governor candidates.  But he's attacking other Republicans in other races.  I didn't see, uh, see that to be anything that you'd, uh, be in favor of.  Once again, that was Aaron 610-505-1879. Thank you."

******** STAY TUNED TOMORROW FOR MORE AUDIO FROM AARON WILSON WHO CONFIRMS THAT HIRA WAS 100% RIGHT ABOUT THE HAWAII GOP THROWING THE 2018 ELECTION DOWN THE GARBAGE.  IF YOU ARE A CANDIDATE OR IF YOU KNOW A CANDIDATE, OR EVEN JUST A VOTER WHO WONDERS WHEN SHIRLENE OSTROV AND HER TEAM OF RINO PARTY OFFICERS ARE GOING TO START FIGHTING DEMOCRATS, YOU'LL HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO BE PISSED OFF AT THESE FAKE REPUBLICAN PARTY BOSSES.  AUWE!!!  ********

Hawaii RINOs Ruin Hawaii With Hawaii Democrats

RINOs Help Democrats Ruin Hawaii:
PHONY REPUBLICANS ARE DESTROYING THE HAWAII GOP AND THROWING THE 2018 ELECTION

Aloha Republicans:
Watching loyal fellow party members like you get stabbed in the back by Hawaii's minority leader Andria Tupola is quite painful. Ever since she took over the leadership reins from party turncoat Beth Fukumoto, you'd have expected Rep. Tupola to do at least slightly better at standing up for our conservative values than Fukumoto and that she'd demand an end to failed Democrat policies. Sadly, this is not to be. Her shameful liberal record of rubber-stampingwhatever Democrats want is JUST AS BAD as Fukumoto's.
Just like Beth Fukumoto, instead of fighting for the repeal of harmful liberal policies, RINO party leader Tupola is working hand in hand with progressive Democrats to turn Hawaii into a tragic and toxic mixture of California and Detroit.
Only days ago, hardcore RINO Tupola voted in favor of a Democrat bill (HB2281) introduced by 14 hardcore Democrats and lifelong RINO Cynthia Thielen which will create a horrifying patchwork of state-run shantytowns and tent cities all across Hawaii. That's right! Fake Republican Tupola wants to force Hawaii residents across the state to accept the establishment of mainland style homeless shantytown tent cities.
Ready to impose her will (and that of Democrats) on taxpayers statewide, co-opted RINO Andria Tupola and her liberal Democrat brain trust of colleages at the legislature fully realize neighborhoods will not be so welcoming to the shantytowns. "This concept would have to be taken from island to island to really get the community to understand it," Tupola told Hawaii News Now, as she and her Democrat friends prepare to force these shantytowns down the throats of taxpayers during the current session of the Hawaii State Legislature. You see, Tupola plans to make YOU understand that tent cities in your neighborhood are a good thing and part of her "vision for a better Hawaii".
Tupola and her Democrat pals are circling the wagons around House Bill 2281, which would create an "Ohana Zone Program" within the state Department of Human Services that would designate potentially DOZENS of areas around the state where homeless people could live. Yes, official state shantytowns, with plenty of room for growth as the homeless population of Hawaii surges into record numbers. Career politicians like Tupola must know that their embrace of big government policies has caused Hawaii to achieve record levels of non-affordability. They also have to know that they've let the illegal drug problem get out of hand and have allowed homelessness to explode in recent years with no solution in sight.
"OHANA ZONES": Thanks to so failed liberal policies in Hawaii, taxpayers (i.e. YOU) would be taxed by Tupola (open-ended pricetag and timelines unknown) to ensure that these government-run Ohana Zone tent cities all provide toilets, showers and other hygiene facilities; areas for food preparation; on-site child care; and transportation to school, jobs, medical appointments and other services. RINO Andria Tupola actually calls living in a tent city a "sustainable lifestyle", as part of her shamelessly propagandizing of the gullible public to make Hawaii's infamous tent city in Waianae and the 'living on the land', bare subsistence, welfare and charity dependent subculture seem like a great, sustainable alternative to working, having your own home, and raising kids under a roof rather than under a tarp.
While opportunistic career politicians like Tupola are eager to demonstrate how 'compassionate' they are by creating shantytowns right next to existing residential areas, affected residents know that homeless villages will bring trouble. Nanakuli's Darren Hoopii told Hawaii News Now that he opposes such camps for good reason, "It's not good for the kids and it will cause a lot of traffic over here and drugs." Mr. Hoopii is a master of understatement. Homelessness is NOT a sustainable alternative lifestyle, as career politicians like RINO Andria Tupola continue to portray the situation. With the State of Hawaii possessing more than enough resources to get people off the streets tomorrow(and having the responsibility to enforce laws against vagrancy and poor parenting), there is ZERO need for the state to create or approve of homeless camps. All of this liberal feel-good nonsense about 'safe zones' needs to be squelched. Homelessness in the year 2018 is unacceptable period.
Let's be honest, it's likely that fake Republican and career politician Tupola is desperate to cozy up to the liberal media and the Democrat powerbrokers in a misguided gambit to promote her pointless gubernatorial ambitions. What's worse is that Tupola's voting record has been truly abysmal, voting 90%+ of the time with Democrats, including voting like a Democrat on many key issues that would cause Republicans from Hawaii to the White House to cringe in disbelief. All of this would explain why Tupola has been encouraging the squatters in Waianae to keep 'camping' indefinitely and why she has become a willing mouthpiece or surrogate for the progressive agenda and cooperating with Democrats and the liberal media in an ongoing campaign to mainstream and normalize the idea of having shantytown tent cities (sorry, "Ohana Zones") all throughout the state . . . coming soon to YOUR neighborhood and spreading like Starbucks. Auwe!
Tupola's voting record is consistently bad. And, according to the scoring by the American Conservative Union Foundation (the annual producers of the CPAC convention), Tupola has delivered the same poor results as minority leader as her predecessor Beth Fukumoto; with the GOP caucus in the state house voting 71% of the time with Democrats under Fukumoto in 2016 and under Tupola in 2017.

As Goldie Cross of the Kauai County Republican Party, "Purge the RINOs". We agree, Goldie. Tupola needs to focus her time on undoing all the damage she's done, rather than throwing away a GOP seat in the state house to run for governor. Tupola asks voters if they "want to be part of creating a shared vision for a better Hawaii". Hell no, if her vision includes state-run shantytown tent cities from Hilo to Hanalei, which it does. That's just nuts!

A REPUBLICAN LEADER SHOULD NOT BE PUSHING THE DEMOCRAT AGENDA
Andria Tupola needs to resign as minority leader of the House GOP at the State Capitol. Her liberal voting record and her progressive ideology -- which she attempts to mask with throwaway conservative buzzwords -- make her unfit to be GOP leader and unfit to be the GOP's nominee for governor. The road to hell is paved by smooth talking liberals who con people into believing they are conservative. Tupola won't be magically turning from a liberal into a conservative in office. It didn't happen when she became a member of the state house. It didn't happen when she voted for Beth Fukumoto to lead the GOP caucus. It didn't happen when she replaced Beth Fukumoto as minority leader. And it won't happen as governor.
To Tupola's Republican supporters, YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, HIRA has the following message for you: You owe it to yourself to understand HOW AWFULLY BAD Tupola's voting record is. Calling it 'HORRIBLE' doesn't even do it justice. It's as bad as you can imagine. Democrats and the liberal news media LOVE Tupola's embrace of their agenda. Through Tupola, they have co-opted the Hawaii GOP's still sidelined ability to take on the failed Democrat record. And now, Tupola is part of that failed record. It's a wonder she hasn't become a Democrat like Fukumoto already.
Contacted for this story, GOP candidate John Carroll indicated that as governor he would work to reverse many of Tupola's liberal policies which she helped Democrats to enact during her years at the state legislature. Carroll clearly indicated that creating Shantytowns was one of a "dirty dozen" Tupola policies which need to be reversed either through executive action, legislation, and/or through the courts during his first year in office. "There's no point in electing a Republican if he or she ends up governing like a Democrat," Carroll asserted to HIRA.
It's hard to disagree with that. Tupola needs to step aside as GOP leader and immediately get off the Democrat bandwagon of incremental socialism in the Aloha State.
