New reporting now shows that 2022 has exceeded 2021 in book bans, with thousands of books being banned in cities, towns, and schools across America.²

Which books are Republicans focused on banning?

40% of banned books featured main characters that are LGBTQ+.³

40% had main characters that were people of color.⁴

And 20% directly addressed race and racism.⁵

Republicans are using these bans to push a hateful, homophobic, white supremacist agenda, but they will not succeed.
