Response to "How Occupy Will End" Part II

I do not find that our country is in the hands of big corporations or Wall Street Bankers. They are a convenient strawman, and they have benefited from government handouts at the expense of the taxpayer.

Yet the fault for government run amok, heedless of the will of the people, are those whom we elect into office, who then lose touch with their constituents. For too long, middle and working class voters have resigned themselves to letting the wheels of the state roll without any accountability. Also, former Senator John Sununu disclosed an open secret about the American public: at least half of us are on the nation's dole in some fashion. This dependence clearly undermines any desire by voters to limit government back to its prescribed constitutional powers. Such a drastic cut in spending would all but eliminate state and federal handouts to 150 million Americans, many of whom have become very defensive about these "entitlements".
